Globe 3387 Diamond SeroFlow Plus Serological Pipette Controller
Pipette Controller
The Pipette Controller is a device that is designed to aspirate and dispense liquid using serological pipettes. It comes with a battery compartment cover, LED display, coarse speed adjustment button, silicone adaptor, nose cone, and operating triggers. The LED display shows the battery charge state and the coarse speed setting. The coarse speed adjustment button (- / +) is used to adjust the overall rate of aspiration and dispensing. The visible outer nose cone and interior silicone pipette adaptor accept the serological pipettes. The inline filter placed just above the nose cone, located internally between the pipette controller components and silicone adaptor, ensures that the liquid is filtered during operation.
Operating Triggers
The operating triggers are analog triggers used to aspirate and dispense liquid. The rate of aspiration can be controlled by the extent of force applied to each trigger
Function
The Pipette Controller is used to aspirate and dispense liquid using serological pipettes. The rate of aspiration and dispensing can be controlled by adjusting the speed adjustment button. Fine control dispensing can be performed by using the effect of gravity. The Pipette Controller includes an inline filter to ensure that the liquid is filtered during operation.
Operating Instructions
IMPORTANT: The pipette controller cannot be operated without the internal filter in place. During operation, please do not overfill the serological pipette beyond its maximum level as this may contaminate the pipette controller and the internal filter. If overfilling occurs, change the internal filter immediately and clean any potentially contaminated components, including the silicone adaptor. Only use filters provided by Globe Scientific. To operate the Pipette Controller, insert the serological pipette into the silicone adaptor. Ensure that the internal filter is in place. Turn on the device by pressing and holding both operating triggers simultaneously. The LED display will show the battery charge state and the coarse speed setting. Adjust the overall rate of aspiration and dispensing using the coarse speed adjustment button (- / +). The rate can also be controlled using pressure on the triggers. Press the minus (-) side to slow the rate, and press the plus (+) side to increase the rate. To dispense liquid, press the operating trigger. To stop dispensing, release the trigger. Be careful not to use excessive force when inserting the serological pipette into the silicone adaptor as this may damage the silicone insert.
IMPORTANT: Do not use the Pipette Controller with hazardous and inflammable substances.

Charging the Unit
- Use only the power adaptor supplied with the unit. Using a different adaptor may cause damage to the unit or even create a fire or explosion hazard.
- The pipette controller can be charged by plugging the power adaptor directly into the unit.
- The unit may be used while charging.
Speed Adjustment
- Overall (coarse) aspiration and dispensing speed can be controlled by adjusting the speed adjustment button. Press the minus (-) side to slow the rate, and press the plus (+) side to increase the rate.
- Fine speed control can be achieved by using varying pressure on the operating triggers.
Fit the Pipette
- Gently insert a serological pipette into the silicone adaptor located in the nose cone. Do not use excessive force as this may damage the silicone insert.
Aspiration / Dispensing
- Aspirate or dispense using the appropriate triggers. The desired rate can be controlled using both the speed adjustment button and varying pressure on the triggers (see: Speed Adjustment). In addition to using the dispensing trigger, fine control dispensing can be performed by using the effect of gravity.
PRECAUTIONS
- Never use the pipette controller with highly flammable liquids.
- Carefully read and understand these instructions prior to use.
- Ensure a good working environment free of explosive or hazardous and inflammable substances.
- Do not use excessive force when using.
- If the pipette controller does not operate normally, immediately stop operation.
- Only use spare parts provided by Globe Scientific.
- Preferable operation and storage temperature range is +10°C to +30°C.
