Product Information

The product is a mobile two-way radio that comes in two versions, PMR and Trunk. The radio has various icons displayed on the screen to indicate different modes and functions. The rotating arrow icon indicates that the radio is in Scan, Vote or MultiAx Mode for PMR and registering with the Trunk Network for Trunk. The solid speaker icon indicates that speaker audio is enabled during a call. The signal icon indicates that a signal is present, and the radio is muted. Product Usage Instructions

To use the PMR radio:

  1. Select a channel or scroll within a menu using the knob.
  2. Scroll between menu screens using the knob.
  3. Access common menus like Phonebook, Status, and Stored Calls by pressing the corresponding button.
  4. Access setup menus by pressing the corresponding button.
  5. Enable/disable Key beeps, Illumination, and DTMF in User Options.
  6. Adjust mute level in Mute Adjust.
  7. Add/edit/delete Selcall Phonebook entries in Phonebook Edit.
  8. Adjust level of display contrast in Contrast.
  9. Adjust relative alert volume in Alert Volume.
  10. View radio serial number, software version, etc. in Radio Info.
  11. Switch to Trunking for Dual Mode Radio in Network.

To use the Trunk radio:

  1. Select a phonebook ID or scroll within a menu using the knob.
  2. Scroll between menu screens using the knob.
  3. Access common menus like Phonebook, Status, Stored Calls, and Call Types by pressing the corresponding button.
  4. Access setup menus by pressing the corresponding button.
  5. Enable/disable Key beeps, Illumination, and DTMF in User Options.
  6. View group memberships in Groups.
  7. Add/edit/delete phonebook entries in Phonebook Edit.
  8. Adjust level of display contrast in Contrast.
  9. Adjust relative alert volume in Alert Volume.
  10. View radio serial number, software version, etc. in Radio Info.
  11. Switch on/off the network by pressing the knob to switch the radio on or off.

Note: The radio can be programmed to switch off automatically after a set period of inactivity. To adjust the volume, rotate the knob to the required level.

DISPLAY ICON DETAILS

PMR

| Rotating arrow icon. Indicates that the radio is

in Scan, Vote or MultiAx Mode. It will disappear when the radio is locked on a channel.

TRUNK

| Rotating arrow icon. Indicates that the radio is

registering with the Trunk Network. It will disappear when the radio is in- service.

The solid speaker icon indicates that speaker audio is enabled,

e.g. during a Call.

| Indicates a signal is present and the radio is muted. This could be

another user group, for instance.

 | Envelope Icon. Indicates there are one or more stored calls.
►| The Chevron. Shown against a function to show that it is turned

ON

| This symbol indicates whether the radio has been “CALLED” or if

it is in the “ON-CALL” state. (PMR only).

| This icon indicates Call Pending, i.e. there is an outgoing call

waiting for the radio to be In-Service. (TRUNK only).

WARNINGS

  • Do NOT operate your mobile radio, without a hands-free kit, whilst driving a vehicle.
  • Do NOT operate your radio in an explosive atmosphere – unless the radio’s level of IECEx approval is approved for use in that atmosphere.
  • Obey the ‘Turn Off Two-way Radios’ signs where these are posted, e.g. on a petrol station forecourt.
  • Do NOT touch the antenna while the radio is transmitting.
  • Do NOT operate the radio if the antenna has become disconnected or damaged.

It is designed for easy installation in today’s vehicles where space is at a premium.TheSRM9000 can operate in a wide range of conventional and trunked radio systems. Your radio consists of a SRM9000 transceiver for local or remote installation, and a SRM9030plus Alphanumeric Control Head, which is arranged for mounting within view and reach of the driver. The Transceiver is software programmable with many customizable parameters to suit your individual requirements. Ask your Simoco Dealer for details of upgrades and a list of the Ancillaries available. COMMON RADIO FUNCTIONS

Switch On/Off| Press the knob to switch the radio On or Off.

Note: The radio can be programmed to switch off automatically after a set period of inactivity.

Volume| Rotate the knob to set the volume to the required level.
Tx/Rx/Power LED| Red LED illuminates when the radio is transmitting.
Note: The microphone must be on-hook for Hands-free operation.
