SENA 50R WiFi Sync Cable

Product Information

The Sena WiFi Sync Cable is a device that allows you to connect your Momentum EVO helmet to a WiFi access point in order to upgrade its firmware. The device has a USB connector and a micro USB connector, as well as LED indicators and a factory reset button. The Sena Motorcycles App is required to use the WiFi Sync Cable.

Product Usage Instructions

Connection Setup

1. Open the Sena Motorcycles App.
2. Tap the Menu button ( ) in the top-right corner of the screen and select Update via WiFi.
3. Follow the instructions on the Sena Motorcycles App to connect the WiFi Sync Cable to a WiFi access point.
   • Note: To change the WiFi access point, perform the Factory
   • Reset then repeat the steps above.

Upgrading the Firmware of the Momentum EVO

If you want to manually upgrade the firmware of your Momentum EVO, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the Momentum EVO is charging.
2. Open the Sena Motorcycles App and select Update via WiFi.
   • Note: Do not disconnect the WiFi Sync Cable while upgrading the firmware.

Powering On

To power on the WiFi Sync Cable, insert the USB Connector into a USB charger port that is connected to a power source. Note that any 3rd party USB charger (5 V/1 A) can be used with the WiFi Sync Cable if the charger is approved by either the FCC, CE, IC or other locally approved. Do not connect the WiFi Sync Cable to a USB port on your PC.

Connecting to the Momentum EVO

To connect the WiFi Sync Cable to your Momentum EVO, insert the microUSB Connector into the Momentum EVO’s microUSB port. If you leave the Momentum EVO on when connecting it, the charging LED on the WiFi Sync Cable will blink red slowly.

Factory Reset

If you want to restore the WiFi Sync Cable to its factory default settings, follow these steps:

1. Gently insert a paperclip into the pinhole on the back of the unit and lightly press the Factory Reset Button.
2. The WiFi Sync Cable will automatically restart with the three LEDs on.
   • Note: The WiFi Sync Cable will be restored to factory default settings, including the WiFi access point.

• Download the Sena Motorcycles App to set up the WiFi Sync Cable to automatically upgrade the Momentum EVO.
• Android: Google Play Store > ‘Sena Motorcycles’ iOS: App Store > ‘Sena Motorcycles’
• Save time updating the firmware on the Momentum EVO with the Sena Motorcycles App and enjoy your adventure even more!

Connection Setup

• Open the Sena Motorcycles App.
• Tap the Menu button ( ) in the top-right corner of the screen and select Update via WiFi.
• Follow the instructions on the Sena Motorcycles App to connect the WiFi Sync Cable to a WiFi access point.

Note:
To change the WiFi access point, perform the Factory Reset then repeat the steps above.

Upgrading the Firmware of the Momentum EVO
The firmware will be upgraded automatically while your Momentum EVO is charging. If you want to manually upgrade the firmware, change the setting on the Sena Motorcycles App.
Note: Do not disconnect the WiFi Sync Cable while upgrading the firmware. The product may be damaged.

Charging Status

• Disconnected
• Charging (The Momentum EVO is powered off.)
• Fully charged

Note:

• Charging (The Momentum EVO is powered on.)
• To upgrade the firmware, power off the Momentum EVO.

Firmware Upgrade Status

• Disconnected or no firmware upgrade available
• Upgrading firmware
• Firmware upgrade completed

WiFi Status

• Disconnected from a WiFi access poi
• Searching for WiFi access point
• Connected to an access point.

Powering On

Insert the USB Connector into a USB charger port that is connected to a power source.

Note:

2. Do not connect the WiFi Sync Cable to a USB port on your PC.

Insert the microUSB Connector into the Momentum EVO’s microUSB port.

Note:
If you leave the Momentum EVO on when connecting it, the charging LED on the WiFi Sync Cable will blink red slowly.
Factory Reset
If you want to restore the WiFi Sync Cable to the factory default settings, you can easily reset the unit:

Note: The WiFi Sync Cable will be restored to factory default settings which include the WiFi configuration setup, the firmware setup and the language setup.
