Introduction
Thank you so much for choosing a Stetsom product! The chosen amplifier was developed with cutting-edge technology for those looking for high performance and versatility in audio systems thanks to its automatic impedance system, which adjusts the parameters when using various speakers on the market.

Before installing

Read this manual carefully before using the product.

  • All connections should be made with the product turned OFF.
  • A fuse must be installed between the amplifier and the battery to protect against overloads. It should be installed as close as possible to the battery.Check which fuse is most appropriate based on your consumption.
  • Use the gauges recommended in this manual to avoid overheating the cables and to obtain maximum power.
  • Keep cables as short as possible to increase sound fidelity and avoid possible power losses.
  • Route the installation cables as far as possible from the vehicle’s original wiring to avoid interference and noise in your audio system.
  • Install it on a firm surface in a ventilated, dry place.
  • Installation should only be performed by a qualified professional.

Input, output and audio controls

STETSOM-BRAVO-BASS-3K-FLEX-Impedance-1

  1. INPUT (IN): Input of the signal to be amplified. Connect to radio/player using high-quality RCA cables to prevent unwanted noise.

  2. OUTPUT (OUT): Output of the signal received by the input used optionally to play another amplifier, facilitating up the installation at many multi-amps systems.

  3. LEVEL: Signal level adjustment control at the amplifier input.

  4. CROSSOVER:

    • FILTRO SUBSONIC: Variable control to adjust the initial frequency of 5Hz to 40Hz that will be reproduced by the amplifier.
    • FILTRO LOW PASS (L.P.F.): Variable control to adjust the final frequency of 30Hz to 200Hz that will be reproduced by the amplifier.
  5. BASS BOOST:

    • BASS: Variable control for bass boost from 0dB to +10dB.
    • FREQ: Variable control for selecting the frequency that will be accentuated with BASS of 30Hz to 70Hz.
  6. SPEAKERS: Output of amplified signal to select connect the speakers. Verify the minimum impedance and polarity before installation.

  7. COOLER: Provides amplifier cooling. Install in a ventilated place, being careful to not obstruct the air vents.

  8. POSITIVE POWER SUPPLY CONNECTOR: Connect to the positive battery terminal using a minimum 4 AWG cable with a fuse or circuit breaker (200A) as close to the battery as possible.

  9. REMOTE CONNECTOR (REM): Allows automatic activation of the amplifier when turning on the radio/player. Connect to the remote output of the radio/player using a cable with at least 18 AWG.

  10. NEGATIVE POWER SUPPLY CONNECTOR: Connect to the negative terminal of the battery using a cable with a minimum of 4 AWG.

LED indicators

  • POWER (blue LED): Indicates that the amplifier is ON when it is lit up.
  • PROT (top red LED): Indicates that the amplifier has found faults in its functioning and entered protection mode, forcing it to shut down. Use the protection table below to identify the possible fault and turn the amplifier on again.
  • CLIP (lower red LED): Indicates signal saturation at the amplifier output.

Smart protection system

When the protection system finds a problem, the amplifier will shut down and the PROT LED will blink. For each kind of fault, the LED will blink a certain number of times, an indication of the cause, as shown in the table below:

Installation

Recommended cable specification for installation:

  • Power connectors (positive/negative) ……………………………………. 4 AWG

  • Remote connector ……………………………………………………………… 18 AWG ▪

  • Output signal connectors (speakers) ………………………… 0.5 Ohm: 7 AWG
    Other impedance: 9 AWG

  • Fuses or circuit breakers ………………………………………………………….. 200A

The use of a fuse or circuit breaker is mandatory to protect the system from short circuits and overload. Install them as close to the battery as possible.

Installation should only be done by qualified professionals with the product turned OFF.

Speakers Association

The automatic impedance system allows the amplifier to be used in various impedance profiles. When combining the speakers the impedance considered must be the resulting one. Some examples:

Troubleshooting

DOES NOT TURN ON:

  • Check if the cables are connected correctly. Make sure all connections have electrical and mechanical contact.
  • Fuses or circuit breakers be faulty or broken. Check the condition of the circuit breakers and make sure they are compatible with the equipment consumption.
  • Make sure the battery is charged enough for the product to operate. NO SOUND:
  • The cables to the speakers or RCA plugs may not be connected incorrectly or defective.
  • Make sure that the LEVEL control is not at a minimum.

PROT LED FLASHING:

  • Make sure that the product’s air vents are not blocked, and that the product is not overheating.
  • The speakers or cables are shorted. Check the speakers, cables, and connections.
  • Check that the battery has enough charge.

SOUND DISTORTIONS:

  • The speakers may be overloaded or defective, lower the level, and then readjust the level. This setting can be adjusted as follows:
    • On the radio/player, play any musical signal and set the volume to 80% of the maximum (if the maximum volume of the radio /player is 45 (100%), set it to 36 (80%).
    • On the amplifier, begin with the LEVEL control at a minimum, and increase gradually until the LED CLIP starts to blink. Slowly decrease the LEVEL until the LED goes out completely.

WEAK OF BASS:

  • Speakers’ cables may be with polaritie and inverted (speakers out-of-phase).

NOISE AND FAILURE IN SOUND:

  • Make sure that the installation is not close to the vehicle’s original wiring, as it may cause interference and noise in the audio signal.
  • Make a separate power connection for the sound system. Use a fuses or circuit breakers as close as possible to the battery for protection.
  • Make a good grounding for the amplifier. To do this, remove the paint from the vehicle chassis at the desired point. Attach the wire using a ground terminal. To prevent oxidation, isolate with paint.
  • Do not loop with ground using multiple grounds. Prefer the star connection, with all grounds starting from a single point.
