Safety Instructions and Precautions:
- Using this product incorrectly c o u l d adversely affect your hearing. Please follow the step-by-step instructions carefully!
- To install and operate EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm you must read and follow separate instructions provided.
- Do not use in an environment that is damp, wet, very hot or very cold.
- To clean the EchoAlert® and its accessories use only a soft cloth and an inorganic cleaner.
- Please refer all servicing to qualified personnel only. Do not attempt to open the units, this will invalidate the warranty. Note: if the serial numbers or labels are removed your warranty is invalid.
- To increase working time, we recommend using a good quality, alkaline batteries. Using poor quality, leaking batteries could affect working time or even damage products. Please insert batteries correctly according to polarity marks.
- EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm has built in 10 years life span battery and this battery is not replaceable.
- EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager produces bright flashing light. Do not look directly into it.
- Due to small parts and batteries, it must be kept out of the reach of young children
- Please note this product is not water resistant. We recommend using weatherproof cover provided if bell push used in wet, damp, or dusty environment.
- Fully functioning EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (paired correctly) must be kept within prescribed range at all the times to ensure operation of the whole system.

without the approval of Hearing Products International Ltd could void the
user’s authority to operate this equipment and invalidate warranty.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or TV interference caused by
unauthorized modifications of this equipment.
EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager
Product description
EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master unit) is a portable vibrating flashing
alarm which can be connected wirelessly to a number of accessories including
EchoAlert® Bell Push, EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm and EchoAlert® Sound Sensor and
alert the user through a strong vibration and flash signal when any of
accessories are triggered.

Battery installation
- Open battery compartment 9 inserting small screwdriver into slot at the bottom of the pager and lift. Insert two AA alkaline batteries according to polarity label.
Power indication
- The indicator 5 flashes green once every 30 sec. if batteries operate correctly.
- The indicator 5 flashes yellow once every 5 sec. to indicate batteries are low and need changing.
Pairing
Please note: this set should already be paired and ready to use. If for any
reason set requires re-pairing, please follow instructions below.
- Press the pager TEST/RESET button ○7 three times within 2s to enter pairing mode. When unit is in pairing mode orange light 3 will flash three times followed by red 2 and white ○4 flashing.
- EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager is now set as master unit and can be paired with accessories. It will stay in pairing mode for 10 seconds.
- If the pairing is successful, the blue, red, orange, and white LEDs flash rapidly 5 times.
Clear Code
Please note: On a rare occasion you may need to un-pair accessories from the
master unit. Please follow instructions below:
- Remove the battery from the master unit (pager).
- Press and hold TEST&RESET button 7 and re-insert battery whilst button is pressed.
- Green LED light 3 comes on for approx. 3 sec. Once green light goes out release TEST&RESET button 7 and press it once again quickly.
- Master unit is un-paired with any accessories.
Smoke Alarm Connection Test
Please be aware that this test is to confirm if EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm is
successfully paired with EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master unit).
For regular smoke alarm testing please see separate EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm
instruction provided.
- Press and hold EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager TEST&RESET button 7 for 3 seconds. Pager LEDs will flash three times together with one vibration. Test signal will be sent to EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm. If signal received successfully Smoke Alarm red light will flash quickly.
- To leave Smoke Alarm testing mode press smoke alarm TEST button once or after 5 minutes it will leave it automatically.
Low battery indicator
- The indicator ○5 flashes yellow once every 5 sec. to indicate batteries are low and need changing.

EchoAlert® Sound Sensor
Product description
EchoAlert® Sound Sensor is a device to detect various types of sounds
including alarms, intercoms, landline phones etc. It is paired with EchoAlert®
Vibrating Pager (master unit) to notify user if sound is detected.
Please note we recommend testing EchoAlert® Sound Sensor to ensure it detects
the sound from your chosen device for example alarms, intercoms, landline
phones etc.
Operation
- Pairing button.
- Red LED indicator
- ON/OFF switch
- Sensitivity switch Low/Mid/High
Battery installation
- Open battery compartment and install 2x AA Alkaline batteries according to polarity label. Please note batteries must be fully inserted before closing battery compartment.
Switching unit On
- Once batteries installed, switch unit to “ON” position (switch located in the battery compartment) then red indicator light will lash once.
Pairing
Please note: this unit should already be paired and ready to use. If for any
reason set requires re-pairing, please follow instruction below.
Pairing with EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master device):
- Activate pairing mode in EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager as instructed on previous pages.
- Press EchoAlert® Sound Sensor pairing button 1 three times within 3 seconds and red LED indicator ○2 under the pairing button will flash three times to show now in pairing mode.
- Now EchoAlert® Sound Sensor will pair with EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master device)
Clear Code
Please note: On a rare occasion you may need to un-pair EchoAlert® Sound
Sensor from the master unit. Please follow instructions below:
- Turn unit off using on/off switch in battery compartment.
- Press and hold pairing button and switch unit ON at the same time.
- Red LED light comes on for approx. 3 sec. Once red light goes out release pairing button and press it once again quickly.
- EchoAlert® Sound Sensor is un-paired from master unit.
Installation:
- Place the product within 10cm of the chosen device for example alarm, siren, intercom etc. When the product detects the sound, the red indicator will flash once and will trigger EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master unit).
Low battery indicator:
- The EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager indicator ○4 flashes white once every 5 sec. to indicate EchoAlert® Sound Sensor batteries are low and need changing.
Switching unit off:
- Turn switch to OFF position (Switch located in the battery compartment)
Sensitivity adjustment:
- Select the desire sensitivity low/medium/high. This sets the level of sound required to trigger the sound sensor.
- Sensitivity switch is in the battery compartment.

EchoAlert® Bell Push
Product description:
Wireless EchoAlert® Bell Push is paired with EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager
(master unit) to alert user that someone is at the door. It can be placed on
the door frame using double sided tape or screws. If bell push is installed
in a humid environment, we recommend using waterproof case provided as an
additional protection.
Operation
Battery installation
- Remove bell push from the bracket by releasing security pin and pushing bell push upwards. If bell push installed in the weatherproof case, make sure there is enough space to slide bell push upward (follow label mark)
- Open battery compartment and insert coin battery (CR2450) “+” face up.
- Close the battery compartment.
Pairing
Please note: this unit should already be paired and ready to use. If for any
reason set requires re-pairing, please follow instruction below.
Pairing with EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master device):
- Activate pairing mode in EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager as instructed on previous pages.
- Press and hold EchoAlert® Bell Push button for around three seconds until red light flashes three times
- EchoAlert® Bell Push is now in pairing mode.
- Once EchoAlert® Bell Push paired successfully LED light will quickly flash 10 times
EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm
Product description:
EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm is an optical wireless smoke alarm device connected to
EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master device) to alert user if smoke detected.
Please note: It is only Quick Guide.
For full information, installation and how to operate Smoke Alarm you must
read and follow separate instruction provided.
Where to install a smoke alarm:
Smoke alarms must be installed in such a way that they can be reached
unhindered by the fire smoke so that fires can be reliably detected.
- Install at least in sleeping areas (especially children’s rooms).
- Install at least in escape rooms.
- In the middle of the ceiling of a room.
- At least 50 cm away from the wall and other objects.
- Maximum installation height of 6 meters.
- If ceiling installation is not possible, the smoke alarm can be installedon the wall. The distance to the ceiling should be between 30 and 50 centimeters.
Where to install a smoke alarm in rooms with special geometries:
- Corridors with a maximum width of 3m: Max. 15m between 2 smoke alarms. Max. 7,5m to the front side of the gallery and smoke alarms at edges/crossings of corridors.
- Rooms with sloping ceilings:
– If the ceiling inclination horizontally: Smoke alarms must be
Activation and Testing:
Before commissioning the smoke alarm, it is important to activate it and test
it for correct operation.
- Use a screwdriver to push the activation switch clockwise. When smoke alarm is activated, the LED lights up.
- Test the correct activation of your smoke alarm by pressing and holding the test button for three seconds. If no sound is generated the smoke alarm is not activated properly and should not be used.
- NOTE: WEEKLY TESTING REQUIRED.Test unit weekly to ensure proper operation by pressing test button. Itwill sound the alarm if smoke alarm operates properly. DO NOT USE OPEN FLAME to test your alarm.
Operation:
Connect your smoke alarms to master device.
Please note: this unit should already be paired and ready to use. If for any
reason set requires re-pairing, please follow instruction below.
- Enter pairing mode on EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager (master device) by quickly pressing the test button three times.
- The orange LED will light up, followed by red and white LEDs. This indicates that EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager is in pairing mode.
- Enter pairing mode on EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm by quickly pressing TEST button three times.
- The EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm green LED will light up to indicate that the smoke alarm is in pairing mode and then will pair automatically.
- Repeat step 1 to 4 for connecting more smoke alarms. Make sure you always use the same master device!
- Test if your smoke alarms are connected successfully by pressing and holding (3sec) test button of any smoke alarm paired. The red
Unpairing
Please note: On a rare occasion you may need to un-pair EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm
from the master unit. Please follow instruction below:
Unpairing process
- Disconnect the smoke alarm you want to unpair from the mounting plate, or by turning the activation switch with a screwdriver.
- Press and hold the test button and activate the smoke alarm again by turning the activation switch clockwise.
- Hold the test button while the LED lights up red and release it when the LED turns off.
- When the LED lights up again press the test button once
- The LED will start flashing to indicate that network is being cleared.
- When the LED turns off the connection is successfully cleared.
Mounting
- Place the mounting bracket on the desired location and mark where the holes should be drilled.
- Drill two holes with a diameter of 5 millimeters.
- Push the plastic plugs to the holes.
- Insert the screws into the mounting plate and tighten them firmly into the plugs.
- Place the smoke alarm on the mounting bracket and secure it by turning it clockwise.
- Alternatively install smoke alarm using magnet plate provided. Use double sided tape to install it on the ceiling.
- Test the correct operation of y our smoke alarm by pressing the test on. If sound is not generated, the smoke alarm does not operate correctly and should be replaced!
Low battery indicator
- When the battery is running low, EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm will indicate this with repetitive beep sound and flash for approximately 30 days. For more information, please go to EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm manual provided separately.
- Additionally, the EchoAlert® Vibrating Pager indicator 2 flashes red once every 5 sec. to indicate EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm batteries are low, and unit needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
DO NOT IGNORE LOW BATTERY WARNING!!!
This smoke alarm is equipped with 10 years, non-replaceable battery. When low
battery warning occurs, replace the device as soon as possible! The acoustic
low battery warning signal can be muted for ten hours by pressing the test
button. The smoke alarm is till functioning and able to detect smoke when it
is in this mode.
Fault warning mode
When EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm is not functioning properly it will turn into the
fault warning mode. Try cleaning the smoke alarm (see paragraph maintenance)
or replace the smoke alarm if needed!
Maintenance
- Test all smoke alarms weekly for correct operation using test function.
- If EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm operates correctly, it will generate a loud beep. Due to the loudness of the alarm, make sure that you always stand at arm’s length distance from the unit when you are testing. If EchoAlert® Smoke Alarm does not generate an acoustic audible sound, alarm must be replaced immediately!
- Clean the smoke alarm at least once per month to remove dirt, dust or debris.
- Gently use a vacuum cleaner to clean all sides and covers of the smoke alarm. Do not remove the top cover of the smoke alarm to clean it inside.
- Do not attempt to repair this smoke alarm. If this smoke alarm operates incorrectly, if is damaged or has any sign of malfunctions you must replace it immediately. YOU MUST NOT USE IT!!!

To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely attached to the ceiling/wall in accordance with the installation instructions.

Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or similar.

Do not paint or cover the smoke alarm.

The smoke alarm test button accurately tests smoke alarm functions. Do not use any other test method. Test smoke alarm weekly to ensure proper operation.

To install this alarm, you must follow and comply with local and national regulations.

EchoAlert® system, including smoke alarm may not alert every household member. The alarm horn is loud and pager’s flash and vibration powerful. However, there may be some circumstances where a persons may not hear, see or feel the alarm. To minimise risk of that please perform regular test.

This smoke alarm can only detect smoke and combustion particles in the air. It does not detect flames or gases. This smoke alarm is designed to give audible warning when smoke detected. However, many fires are fast- burning, explosive or intentional, and others are caused by carelessness or safety hazard. In such circumstances, smoke may cannot be detected quickly enough to ensure safe escape. Therefore, the installation of smoke alarms is not a substitute for practising fire safety in the home.

Smoke alarms have limitations. EchoAlert® system including smoke alarm is not fool proof and does not guarantee to protect lives or property from fire. Smoke alarms are not an insurance substitute.

EchoAlert® system including smoke alarm must be tested weekly.
If any faults found or it does not operate properly you must replace it immediately. Do not use faulty unit as it may not alarm you in case of fire. -
Smoke alarm must be replaced every 10 years.
