Product Information

The Morley AFX-1 is an all-analog multi-effects pedal that features switchless classic wah, vintage dual distortion with hi-gain, stereo chorus, and echo. It has no programming or complicated menus, making it easy to use. The pedal is designed with high-quality components, and its custom buffer circuit ensures no signal loss or tone change even when using long cables. The pedal is built like a tank with its cold-rolled steel housing and custom hand-crafted finish.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect the pedal to your amplifier using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
  2. Plug in the power adapter to the pedal and a power outlet.
  3. To engage the wah effect, simply step on the pedal. To bypass the wah effect, step off the pedal.
  4. To turn on/off the chorus effect, use the chorus switch. The orange LED lights when in chorus mode, and the rate knob controls the speed of the chorus, while the depth knob controls the amount of pitch-shifting and delay in the chorus.
  5. To turn on/off the echo effect, use the echo switch. The yellow LED lights when in echo mode. The echo knob controls the echo time from slapback to hall, while the repeat knob controls the number of repeats. The mix knob controls the mix of the original dry signal and echoed wet signal.
  6. Use the high, mid, low tone controls to adjust the tone of your sound. The standard or hi-gain mode with boost can be used to increase the gain and volume of your sound.
  7. The pedal can be used in mono by using the left output jack or in stereo by using both the left and right jacks. When using echo in stereo mode, the left/mono jack will have the wet signal with echo, while the right/stereo jack will have the dry signal without echo.
  8. The FX loop can be used to place other effects between the distortion and the chorus.
  9. The glow-in-the-dark treadle grip on wah allows you to locate your pedal even on a dark stage.

POWER REQUIREMENTS
Your Morley® AFX-1 is designed to be powered by a Truetone One Spot power supply; 9V 1700mA Center Polarity Negative. The adapter is included with the AFX-1. Use of any other brand adapter is not recommended. The AFX-1 does NOT have a battery option.

CLASSIC WAH

  1. SWITCHLESS WAH: Simply step on to engage Wah and step off to go to bypass.

  2. OPTICAL WAH: No more pots to get scratchy or replace.

  3. CLASSIC WAH TONES: Enjoy the traditional Wah tones of our Morley Classic Wah.

  4. LED INDICATION: Red LED lights when in Wah mode.
    DIAMOND DISTORTION

  5. DISTORTION SWITCH: Turns on/off Distortion Effect.

  6. LED INDICATION: Blue LED Lights when in Distortion mode.

  7. PRE KNOB: Controls the Input Gain, this determines the amount of distortion.

  8. POST KNOB: Controls the Output Gain, this acts as the Distortion Level.

  9. LOW EQ: Controls the lower frequencies of the Distortion.

  10. MID EQ: Controls the middle frequencies of the Distortion.

  11. HIGH EQ: Controls the higher frequencies of the Distortion.

  12. HI GAIN SWITCH: Turns on/off Hi Gain Distortion Mode.

  13. LED INDICATION: Green LED lights when in Hi Gain mode.

  14. HI GAIN KNOB: Controls amount of Saturation in Hi Gain Mode.
    CRYSTAL CHORUS

  15. CHORUS SWITCH: Turns on/off Chorus Effect.

  16. LED INDICATION: Orange LED lights when in Chorus mode. Also Orange LED blinks in time with Chorus Rate.

  17. RATE KNOB: Controls the speed of the Chorus.

  18. DEPTH KNOB: Controls the amount of pitch-shifting and delay in the Chorus.
    NOTE: The full Chorus signal is sent to both Left / Mono and Right / Stereo Jacks.

  19. EMERALD ECHO

  20. ECHO SWITCH: Turns on/off Echo Effect.

  21. LED INDICATION: Yellow LED Lights when in Echo mode.

  22. ECHO KNOB: Controls the Echo Time from Slapback to Hall.

  23. REPEAT KNOB: Controls the number of repeats.

  24. MIX KNOB: Controls the mix of the original “dry” signal and echoed “wet” signal.
    NOTE: The full Echo Signal is sent to the Left / Mono jacks. When using Echo in Stereo Mode, Echo will be present on Left / Mono Jack (”wet”) but Right / Stereo Jack will be without Echo (”dry”). This creates a wide sonic spectrum that makes the sound seem Larger Than Life!
    OTHER FEATURES

  25. PREMIUM BUFFER: Ensures no signal loss or tone change even when using long cables. Buffer is always engaged.

  26. MONO/STEREO OUTPUTS: Use in Mono by using Left Output Jack or use in Stereo using both Left and Right Jacks.

WARRANTY

  • Your Morley® AFX-1 is warranted to be free of any defects in materials and workmanship if used under normal operating conditions for one year from date of purchase, subject to the limitations described below. This warranty is not transferable under any circumstance.
  • PLEASE NOTE: In order to validate your warranty, save your dated purchase receipt. You will need it to get service.
  • If the AFX-1 Malfunctions in the first 12 months as a result of faulty materials or workmanship, Morley® will repair the defect(s) or replace the pedal, at its sole discretion. If original materials are no longer available, Morley® reserves the right to use materials regularly utilized at the time of repair. If the replacement of the customer’s pedal is deemed necessary by our Service Department, Morley® will replace the pedal with one of the same.
  • This warranty covers the cost of both labor and materials on any repair deemed necessary by our Service Department for one year. Only Morley® Service Department may perform warranty service and any service performed by unauthorized persons will void this warranty. Morley® shall not be held liable for any and all defects or damage caused by services performed by unauthorized persons.

THIS WARRANTY IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS:

The following items are not covered by this warranty:

  • Any pedal whose serial number is missing or has been altered or tampered with in any manner.
  • Any pedal that has been modified from original design.
  • Any pedal whose purchase receipt has been falsified or altered.
  • Any pedal upon which any unauthorized repair or service has been performed.
  • Normal wear and tear on cosmetic aspects of pedal: powder coating, screen printing, treadle rubber, knobs and/or packaging.
  • Subjective issues such as tonal characteristics.
  • Damage caused by negligence or improper use.
  • Damage caused by accidents deemed Acts of God: fires, floods, etc…
  • Shipping damages of any kind.
  • Freight charges to Morley® service center.
  • Any and all charges if no problem is found at time of repair/inspection.
  • Any and all charges incurred from priority service requests (Rush Service) or priority shipping for replacement parts or return of customer’s merchandise.

HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE

  • If you experience any malfunction that is covered under Morley® Warranty, please contact Morley® Service Department at [email protected].
RETURNING YOUR PEDAL FOR WARRANTY SERVICE
  • Owner is responsible for all freight & insurance costs to ship the pedal to Morley® Service Department. Owner must contact Morley to receive and RA # (Return/Repair Authorization Number) to return any Morley pedal. RA # must be clearly marked on the outside of the package being returned to Morley®. No pedal may be returned to Morley® and delivery will not be accepted without such prior authorization.
  • After the returned pedal is inspected upon its arrival, Morley Service Department will advise the Owner of the approximate date of completion. The repaired pedal will be returned to the Owner freight prepaid.
WARRANTY SERVICE
  • Only Morley Service Department may perform warranty service and any service performed by anyone other than Morley will void this warranty. Morley shall not be held liable for any and all defects or damage caused by services performed by unauthorized persons.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Morley does not offer repair service of any kind other than warranty repair service. If your pedal needs any service or maintenance that is not covered under warranty, you should contact the Morley Dealer where the pedal was purchased. For a list of authorized Morley Dealers and Distributors, please visit our website at www.morleyproducts.com.

LIABILITY

A. THE WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THIS SECTION ARE EXCLUSIVE AND ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER STATUTORY, EXPRESS, OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ALL WARRANTIES ARISING FROM THE COURSE OF DEALING OF USAGE OR TRADE) AND WHETHER THE CLAIMS OF CUSTOMER ARE BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE OR STRICT LIABILITY), OR UNDER ANY WARRANTY, OR OTHERWISE, NOR SHALL M-WAVE BE LIABLE TO CUSTOMER FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE WHATSOEVER, OR FOR LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO THE CUSTOMER’S FACILITIES, LOSS OF USE OF EQUIPMENT LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES OR THE LOSS OR USE THEREOF, OR CLAIMS OF CUSTOMER. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF MORLEY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, IN TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT LIABILITY), UNDER WARRANTY, OR OTHERWISE, EXCEED, AND THE CUSTOMER WAIVES AND WILL REQUIRE ITS INSURERS TO WAIVE ALL RIGHTS OF RECOVERY AGAINST MORLEY FOR ANY LIABILITIES IN EXCESS OF, THE PRICE PAID TO MORLEY UNDER
THE AGREEMENT.
