Disassembly “Skalar” and assembly (also in new constructions)
Disassembly: “Skalar”
- Switch off the power to the ventilator unit.
- Flip up the front cover. Unscrew the central screw. Take the cover frame off.
- Unscrew the locking screws so far that the ventilator unit can be removed. If appropriate, pull off the sliding connection pipe. The sliding connection pipe remains on the flex tube.
- Remove the power supply terminal from the ventilator unit. Remove the power supply terminal from the mains cable.
- Take the backdraft shutter out of the pipe.
Assembly
For installation in wall installation housings 3/LS, 3/LB, 3/LS 2, 3/LB 2: Adhere the enclosed seal to the exhaust vent opening on the fan insert (remove protective film + stick on)
Assembly: Clamp-in fan
Connection to the main line
- Connect the flex tube to the main line
- Fasten the sliding connection pipe to the flex tube
- Seal the connections with adhesive tape or circlips
Make the wall cut-out
- Mount the pre-wall covering
- Fix the flex tube and mains cable within easy reach in the wall opening.
Mains connection:
Remove the fixing element with the power supply terminal from the fan and
fasten the power supply terminal to the mains cable as shown in the
appropriate connection diagram (see “Connection diagrams”).
Caution! The mains cable must be voltage free!
Attach the fixing element with power supply terminal and connected mains cable
and snap it into place.
Caution! The mains cable must be mounted in a mechanically stress-free
way. Use a flexible cable, if necessary.
Fit the clamp-in fan insert in the wall cutout:
- Insert the ventilator unit in the wall cut-out (correct position and seating of the backdraft shutter, if appropriate! See the bottom diagram)
Insertion in wall installation housings 3/LS, 3/LB, 3/LS 2, 3/LB 2:
- Push the ventilator unit into the wall installation housing while pressing the mains cable back into the duct
Correct position and seating of the backdraft shutter (important for ceiling installation)
- In installation position, the backdraft shutter in the exhaust vent must close by its unweight.
The backdraft shutter can be drawn out to the inside for corrections.
Fixing the ventilator unit Screw the fixing screws moderately tight with a screwdriver
- The clamping pieces extend automatically and position themselves from behind at the pre-wall covering or in the recesses of the plaster frame of housings 3/LS, 3/LB, 3/LS 2 and 3/LB 2
- Screw-fastening can be made using the flange boreholes in the plaster frame of the wall installation housing. Screws + accessories are not supplied.
Assembly: Decor screen
- Fasten and align the grille frame to the fan insert using the screws supplied.
- Insert filter
- Fit the front cover on and snap it into place
Caution: Grille frame and front cover must always be installed in accordance with the fan installation position!
