Neptune2 FDM 3D Printer
Currently, the Neptune2&2D have two types of main boards, including the ZNP
Robin Nano V1.2 and ZNP Robin Nano V1.3. The Neptune2S uses ZNP Robin Nano
V1.3 main board. In order to prevent the machine from updating wrong firmware,
we have set simple password for the firmware package. Please follow the
instructions below to confirm your main board model, then select the correct
firmware package and password to obtain the corresponding firmware.
Note: Please read these instructions carefully and follow the rules for
updating firmware.
Please select the correct firmware for your machine’s main board model, do not
load the firmware onto the wrong main board as this can seriously damage the
main board.
(Tip: Neptune2S can directly use the firmware in ZNP Robin Nano V1.3)
Q: How can I confirm the main board model ? ( Neptune2 &2D )****
– A: Method 1: As shown in the figure, the Firmware: V1.X.X corresponds to ZNP
Robin Nano V1.2 ; Otherwise, it is ZNP Robin Nano V1.3 .
– Method 2: Please remove the bottom cover of the machine, you will see the
main board model.
– The corresponding passwords for different main board models and firmware
packages:
– 1. ZNP Robin Nano V1.2
– Password: nanov12
Current version: V1.0.3 V1.0.4
2. ZNP Robin Nano V1.3
– Password: nanov13
– Current version: V2.0.1 V2.0.2
Q: How do I load the firmware?****
– A: Example:
– Loading method:
– ① Only copy these two files “elegoo.bin” and “elegoo.txt” to the root
directory of the TF card.
– ② Insert the TF card into the printer, then just restart the machine
and wait for the updating process to complete, it will take about one minute.
– Note: “elegoo_font” and “elegoo_pic” are fonts and UI images, which
normally do not need to be loaded. If you load them, it will take about 4
minutes.(Usually Mac system users are prone to problems after decompression,
so it is not recommended to load these two folders.)
Q: Do I need to update the firmware if the machine is working normally and there are no abnormalities?****
– A: No need to update, but if you have another requirement for the extrusion pulse or extend functions like the auto tuning level, simply modify and load the single configuration file “elegoo.txt”.
Q: Nothing happens when I reboot to load the firmware?****
– A: Please reformat the TF card and try again; the TF card format is: FAT32.
Q: Will the machine configuration be lost after loading the firmware?****
– A: For machines with extended functions (e.g. auto leveling), you will need to reset the firmware after loading “elegoo.bin” or “elegoo.txt”.
Q: Why does the screen UI icon or font miss after updating the firmware?****
– A: Please do not change or delete files in the folders “elegoo_font” and
“elegoo_pic”, then move these two folders to the root directory of the TF
card, insert the printer and reboot to load.
– If the display is still not normal after loading, then it is likely that the
decompressed file name is messed up, please learn how to deal with the
decompressed mess by yourself, it is recommended to change other decompression
software or use Windows system to decompress the files; it is also possible
that the compressed files or the process when files from your computer to the
TF card are damaged , try downloading the compressed files again.
Q: Why is the screen colour different after updating the firmware?****
– A: Please do not change or delete the content in “elegoo.txt”, then copy the file to the root directory of the TF card, insert the printer and reload it.
Q: Why do I need to update the firmware according to the main board model?****
– A: To prevent loading the wrong firmware onto the main board, which may cause the machine can not work normally and may even damage the main board.
