Introduction

Notice to all users:
This wireless android auto activator is for converting wired android auto to a wireless only, supporting original car unit which equipped with OEM wired Android Auto, and aftermarket radios, such as for Boss, Alpine, Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, etc.

For Sony aftermarket radios XAV-AX series which have original wired android auto, the audio issue is not optimized.
Please contact the customer service team first for the news before using this wireless aa activator.

After finished reading the instructions, keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

If the wireless aa activator works properly on your car, it is not necessary to upgrade a new firmware online, as it may affect the current usage of the wireless aa.

CONNECTION STEPS

  1. Connect the box to the original car USB Data interface;
    Press the’ APP’ button or Enter to the App-Connect page;
    (It doesn’t have interface image displayed on screen)

  2. Turn on the Bluetooth of the S9-S22, search for the Bluetooth Device naming: “smart Box-****”.
    Pair it and wait for AA ‘Connected to your car’

  3. After the connection, please wait for a few seconds and AA interface will be shown:

UPGRADE STEPS FOR ANDROID

  1. Remove the wireless activator to a USB Power Charger, instead of the USB data port of the car;

  2. Turn on Wi-Fi and join the ‘smart Box-xxxx’ network, with password ‘88888888’;

  3. Open browser & enter the IP address ‘192.168.1.101’, pressing ‘Switch P2P’ at first;

  4. After switching to ‘P2P’ Wi-Fi mode, pls turn back to the Wi-Fi settings;

  5. Enter to ‘Wi-Fi Direct’ function, & join again to the ‘smart Box-xxxx’ network in your Android mobile;

  6. Turn back again to the IP setting page, and you can upgrade a new firmware by pressing ‘Update’ now;

  7. Wait for 3-4 minutes uitil the White light stop blinking, then remove it back to your car for use;

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q1: Why it 1: Why it doesn’t work for sony XAV-AX5600 work for sony XAV- AX5600??

  • A:
    I’m so sorry that the current firmware version still doesn’t work well with the sony radio, specially for XAV-AX series.
    It’s the Android Auto icon not able to be activated on some Sony radio’s screen, causing the A2A adapter is not on work.
    Without the ‘smart Box-xxxx’ Bluetooth device signal, it’s not able to connect AA wirelessly.

Q2: I always fail to upgrade the firmware, is there any tips?

  • A:
    If the upgrade fail in several times, pls make sure that the ‘smart Box_xxxx’ network device still can be searched & join in your Android Wi-Fi settings;

    • It needs to ‘Switch P2P’ on IP setting page at first, and then join again to the ‘smart Box-xxxx’ network in your Android’s ‘Wi-Fi
      Direct’ settings

    • It usually takes 3-4 minutes to upgrade the new firmware and the orange/green light will not stop flashing until the upgrade is successful;

    • The ‘smart Box_xxxx’ Wi-Fi device should be forgetter after the upgrade is finished;

    • To avoid signal interference, pls forget or disconnect the other Android’s Bluetooth devices before connecting to the adapter, such as the vehicle’s Bluetooth or Bluetooth headphones.
