ISUZU D-Max 2021 Rear Parking Sensor Kit
The Isuzu D-Max 2021 Rear Parking Sensor Kit, part number IACC3752V2-21, is designed to assist drivers in reversing their vehicle by alerting them of any obstacles behind the vehicle. The kit contains all necessary components for installation, including sensors, wiring harness, and installation instructions.
Pre-Installation Checks
Before installing the kit, ensure that the vehicle is in neutral and the battery is disconnected. Do not reconnect the battery with the vehicle in gear. Verify connection points with an intrinsically safe, approved multimeter (DMM). Ensure all electrical connections are made using the approved methodology. Always secure wiring harnesses away from any moving parts and treat any drilled holes with an appropriate anticorrosion paint/spray.
Vehicle Connection Methodology
All connections should be confirmed using a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM). The preferable method of connection is solder and heat shrink tubing or with a suitable crimp connector and appropriate crimp tool. Route cable harnesses away from moving parts and heat sources (exhaust etc.). Harnesses should be cable tied and affixed to bodywork and/or existing looms preventing sagging and/or dropping down. Any holes made in the metalwork of the vehicle should be adequately protected using a rust inhibitor or zinc galvaniser.
Installation of Rear Parking Sensors
-
Marking Positions for Sensors
Measure and mark the mounting positions. Two sensors are to be located just outside the number plate recess and the other two in each side ‘quarter’ bumper trim. Use the template to mark the drilling positions for the outer sensors. -
Drilling the Outer Panels
Remove rear bumpers for easy access. Place the template into the gap so it sits naturally. Make sure the correct side of the vehicle is face up. When fitting N/S, have N/S face up, then mark the center of the hole. To double- check, measure the location 2.5mm X 23mm using the pictures as a reference. Make a pilot hole using a suitable drill bit. Use a 16.5mm hole punch for the sensor head.
Cutting the Bumper: Cut a space for the sensor holder on the corner portion of the bumper just below the large circle cut out. Measure 22mm from the edge of the bumper in line with the clip and the measure 31mm down. Please see pictures for reference. -
Drilling the Inner Bumper
Measure 40mm from the edge of the bumper and measure 35mm up from the bottom, see pictures for reference. Make a pilot hole using a suitable drill bit. Use a 16.5mm hole punch for the sensor head.
Copy for opposite side. -
Mount the Sensor Heads
Place the sensor on the bumper with the sticker still on, adjust the sensor by turning the outer to ring so it sits flush to the outside of the bumper. Prepare the panels, clean the area to allow the adhesive to stick. Remove sticker and place onto the hole.
Route the cable securely behind the bumper. -
Routing the Harness
Locate the flat disc behind the rear N/S passenger seat. For easy access remove rear seats, undoing three nuts and three bolts, making sure to unplug 2X connectors under the seats before removal.
Remove the obstructing trim, jack, tool kit and peel back material cover.
Note: It is recommended that installation is carried out by a qualified technician. Refer to the installation instructions for full details and diagrams.

D-Max MY2021 Installation of Rear Parking Sensors
-
Marking Positions for Sensors
Measure and mark the mounting positions.
Two sensors are to be located just outside the number plate recess and the other two in each side ‘quarter’ bumper trim.
Use the template to mark the drilling positions for the outer sensors. -
Drilling the Outter Pannels
Remove rear bumpers for easy access.
Place the template into the gap so it sits naturally. Make sure the correct side of the vehicle is face up e.g., when fitting N/S have “N/S” face up, then mark the center of the hole.
To double check, measure the location 2.5mm X 23mm using the pictures as a reference.
Make a pilot hole using a suitable drill bit.
Use a 16.5mm hole punch for the sensor head. -
A Cutting the Bumper
Cut a space for the sensor holder on the corner portion of the bumper just below the large circle cut out. Measure 22mm from the edge of the bumper in line with the clip and the measure 31mm down. Please see pictures for reference. -
B Drilling the inner bumper
Measure 40MM from the edge of the bumper and measure 35mm up from the bottom, see pictures for reference.
Make a pilot hole using a suitable drill bit. Use a 16.5mm hole punch for the sense head.
Routing the Harness
Measure 85mm from the tool kit holder and 85mm from the top of the grommet.
Use the M25 gland nut to check it sits comfortably within the disc.
Centre punch and drill a pilot hole, then drill a 25mm hole.
Making sure to collect the steel disc and debur the hole.
Ensure adequate rust inhibitor is applied to any cut metalwork. -
Routing the Harness
Once the hole is drilled, feed the harness through, and place the gland into the hole.
Feed the harness through M25 gland nut until it reaches the gland, tighten gently with a spanner. -
Routing the Harness
Find the wiring loom for the rear lights and follow the same path along the N/S chassis rail.
Follow the loom all the way to O/S rear lights.
Be sure to fasten the cables with cable ties, use all that have been supplied.
Stay away from moving parts and heat sources. -
Reverse Signal Pickup
Locate the wire harness that supplies the N/S rear light.
Within this harness, locate the RED wire and confirm the operation with a DMM.
+12v in reverse and 0v when in neutral or any forward gear.
Connect the RED wire from the sensor ECU to this wire.
Connect the BLACK wire from the sensor ECU to the thick GREY wire, this is the ground connection. -

Final Test
Turn on the Ignition (DO NOT START THE VEHICLE) and place the vehicle in
reverse.
A Single beep should sound, to make you aware the system is active.
Walk up to each sensor starting from approximately 2m distance and note the
change in tone from the buzzer, short beeps, and increasing in frequency as
you approach the vehicle, ending in constant tone when you are 300-400mm
distance from the sensor head.
This should be performed with each sensor head location to confirm correct
operation.
If the Sounder emits more than a single tone on start-up, check for near
obstacles. If no obstacles are present, then check each sensor head is plugged
into the harness correctly.
When this test is finalised, replace any trim removed during install.
