NannyTone VM3

The NannyTone VM3 is a baby monitor that comes with a parent unit and a baby unit. The parent unit helps parents monitor their child from another room, while the baby unit is placed in the child’s room to detect and transmit sound.

    • To locate the parent unit, press the button to hear an audible signal. Press again to turn it off.

      (50 dB).

    • Switch to decrease the sensitivity of the baby unit to noise
      (50 dB).

Pairing Units

  1. Pairing the Parent and Baby Unit
    Turn on both units at the same time by holding down the button. Both units will pair automatically when switched on. Correct pairing of the units is indicated by two green LEDs on the front of the parent and baby units.

  2. Pairing Multiple Parent Units at the Same Time

    • Press and hold the button on the powered off baby unit until the status LED starts flashing green.
    • Then press and hold the buttons on both parent units at the same time until the status LEDs start flashing green.
    • This will automatically pair the parent units. Correct pairing of the units is indicated by the green LEDs on the front of each unit.
  3. Switching Off the Units
    Press and hold the button on both the parent and baby units until the LEDs on the front turn off.

Unit Locations

  • Parent Unit
    The parent unit can be placed in any location that is easily visible, audible, and accessible, or it can be attached using the clip.

  • Baby Unit

    • Place the baby unit in any visible, accessible, and safe place out of the child’s reach.
    • Refer to the safety instructions included in the box for more detailed guidelines on positioning the baby unit.

Powering and Charging the Units

  • To fully charge the unit, plug the included USB-C cable into the mains using the included USB-A adapter.
  • A fully charged battery is indicated by an off status LED.
  • The battery life of the parent unit is a maximum of 7 hours and the baby unit, a maximum of 10 hours.
  • A low battery is indicated by a red flashing status LED on the baby unit and a red flashing status LED + audible signal on the parent unit at an interval of 30 seconds.
  • The units can be powered using the included USB-C cable or the integrated replaceable lithium battery (750 mAh – parent unit / 1200 mAh – baby unit).
  • To fully charge the unit, plug the included USB-C cable into the mains using the included USB-A adapter.
  • For a full charge, charge the parent unit for approx. 3–4 hours and the baby unit for approx. 6–7 hours.
  • A fully charged battery is indicated by an off status LED.
  • The battery life of the parent unit is a maximum of 7 hours and the baby unit, a maximum of 10 hours.
  • A low battery is indicated by a red flashing status LED on the baby unit and a red flashing status LED + audible signal on the parent unit at an interval of 30 seconds.

Functions and Indicators

VOX Mode – When VOX mode is activated, the child unit does not transmit sound. The sound is only activated when it detects a noise. This mode increases the overall battery life.

  3. VOX mode automatically stops transmitting sound after 30 seconds of silence.

  4. The VOX mode is indicated by an orange LED even after the display is switched off.

  5. Two-way audio
    Talk to the child whenever you need to.

  6. Night light
    The baby unit is equipped with a small LED lamp that can be controlled by both units.

  7. Lullabies

  8. Choose from a total of 8 lullabies controlled using the parent unit.

  9. When two-way audio is activated, the lullabies are automatically turned off.

  10. Locating the parent unit
    Using the baby unit, you can locate a lost parent unit via an audible signal.

  11. Low signal detection
    A weak signal is indicated by the parent unit after 20 seconds by an audible signal and the green and red status LEDs flashing.

  12. Vibrate

  13. Vibrate can be turned off/on.

  14. Vibrate cannot be turned off if the minimum volume is set

  15. When sound is detected, the parent unit will automatically vibrate.

  16. Temperature sensor

  17. If the temperature drops below 16°C / 61°F, the parent unit will indicate this with an audible signal after a 30-second interval.

  18. If the temperature is higher than 30°C / 86°F, the parent unit will indicate this with an audible signal after a 30-second interval.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Insert the USB-A adapter into a power outlet and connect the USB-C cable to the adapter and the baby unit to charge both units.
  2. Place the baby unit in a safe location out of the child’s reach and turn it on using the -/+ button.
  3. Turn on the parent unit by holding down the + button and wait for both units to pair automatically.
  4. Adjust the volume level using the + button and activate the night light if needed using the night light button.
  5. Use the switch button on the baby unit to adjust its sensitivity to noise.
  6. Activate VOX mode if needed using the -/+ button to save battery life.
  7. Press and hold the transmit button on the parent unit to speak to your child through the baby unit.
  8. Locate your parent unit by pressing the -/+ button on the baby unit.
  9. To switch off both units, press and hold the -/+ button on both units until their LEDs turn off.

RANGE:

  • The maximum range of the baby monitor is 800 m in an undeveloped area and 300 m in a building.
  • The maximum range of the baby monitor and signal transmission may be affected by the environment in which the baby monitor is used such as thick walls, reinforced concrete structures, etc.

CHANGING BATTERIES:
The batteries can be replaced in both units. If replacement is necessary, follow the instructions in the manual.

  1. Parent unit (750 mAh)
  2. a. Unscrew the rear cover of the parent unit with a Phillips head screwdriver.
  3. b. Remove the back cover.
  4. c. Disconnect the old dead battery from the connector by hand.
  5. d. Plug the new working battery back into the connector by hand.
  6. e. Screw the back cover back on.
  7. Baby unit (1200 mAh)
  8. a. Unscrew the bottom screw to the front cover of the baby unit with a Phillips screwdriver.
  9. b. Remove the front cover.
  10. c. Disconnect the old dead battery from the connector by hand.
  11. d. Plug the new working battery back into the connector by hand.
  12. e. Screw the back cover back on.
