DIMMER BEST PRACTICES
Choose a Compatible Dimmer
- We highly recommend using an LED dimmer that is an ELV dimmer (a.k.a. electronic low voltage dimmer or trailing edge dimmer)
- Do not use an MLV dimmer (magnetic low voltage dimmer) with LED bulbs
- An incompatible switch may cause lights to buzz, flicker, or otherwise, malfunction
Determine Dimmer Capacity
- Do not exceed the maximum wattage capacity of the dimmer switch
- Consult the installation manual and manufacturer’s information for your specific dimmer to find its maximum LED wattage capacity
Troubleshooting a Pop-On Light
“Pop-on” refers to the sudden, unexpected brightening of light when using a
dimmer switch. If you experience a “pop-on” issue, your dimmer cannot be
turned on immediately to a minimum level. Raise the slider to allow the lights
to turn on above the minimum level, then lower the slider down to your
preferred level of brightness.
