SYMBOLS
- The operating and maintenance instructions (service) in this manual must be followed. Any other use may result in damage to health.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not open the housing under any circumstances. There are no parts inside that can be repaired by the user. Repairs may only be carried out by an authorized specialist workshop.
- This device is designed for 230V ~ 50Hz mains voltage. When the device is not used for a long time, disconnect the plug from the socket.
- This device can also be used with 4x 1.5V batteries (size C). Before inserting the batteries, please make sure that the 230V power cable is not connected.
- Do not expose the device to moisture or rain.
- Do not turn on the system until you have thoroughly checked all connections.
- Place the device in such a way that an undisturbed supply of fresh air is always ensured. Do not place the device on carpets or near curtains and do not install it in bookshelves.
- Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or heat sources.
INTRODUCTION
- Read these operating instructions before attempting to connect or operate the device.
- Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
- Do not expose the unit to moisture and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit. Use only in dry areas.
- Do not place naked flames such as candles or other heat sources on or near the unit.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Ventilation must not be obstructed by covering the ventilation openings.
- Make sure that the device is connected to a suitable voltage source (AC: 230V -50Hz). Using a higher voltage may cause malfunction or defect of the device.
- The device can also be used via DC 6V: 4x 1.5V batteries (size C).
- Please make sure that you use only one type of power supply at a time. If you use the device via the power cable, batteries must not be inserted. When using the device via batteries, the power cable must not be plugged in.
- If your hands are wet or damp, do not touch the power cord or batteries.
- Do not use force to insert the power cord into the outlet if it does not fit.
- To avoid damage to the power cord, do not place the power cord over sharp edges, do not pull or pinch the power cord, and keep the power cord away from rodents.
- Use only accessories and spare parts approved by the manufacturer.
- Install the unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Place the device only in adequately ventilated environments.
- Place the device on a flat and stable surface.
- Do not expose to temperatures above 35° C.
- When placing the device, make sure that 30 cm to the rear and the top of the device and 5 cm from each side are observed.
- Dispose of used batteries or defective rechargeable batteries in an environmentally friendly manner.
- Always make sure that the power cord is disconnected from the socket before transport or cleaning. Only clean the device with a dry cloth.
- Disconnect the device from the power supply during thunderstorms or when the device is not to be used for an extended period of time.
- This device has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to repair this unit yourself. Only qualified service personnel should perform maintenance. In the event of a defect, contact your dealer or the manufacturer’s service department.
- Especially when the device is operated by children, note that no objects may be inserted into the device openings, as this could lead to a fatal electric shock.
- Do not place the device near TV sets, loudspeakers and other objects that generate strong magnetic fields.
- Do not leave the device unattended when in use.
- If the device does not work properly, disconnect the device from the mains or remove the batteries. Wait a few seconds and reconnect the device to the mains or reinsert the batteries.
Note
To completely disconnect the device when not in use for an extended period of time, unplug the power cord from the device.
Headphone warnings
Set the volume of the device to minimum before using headphones. A volume that
is set too high can lead to hearing impairment/damage
over a long period of time. Therefore, to protect your hearing, use a comfortable room volume.
Note
The speaker is automatically disabled when headphones are connected.
CONNECTIONS AND CONTROLS
- SPEAKER: For audio output.
- CASSETTE DOOR / CASSETE TRAY: Insert the cassettes into this tray.
- RECORD BATT: Indicator LED for recording and battery operation. Position of the integrated microphone.
- RECORD: Press the button to start tape recording.
- PLAY: Press the button to start cassette playback.
- REWIND/FAST FWD: Press the button to start fast forward or rewind.
- STOP/EJECT: Press the button to stop playback and again to open the cassette compartment.
- PAUSE: Press the button to pause playback and again to resume playback.
- HANDLE: Carrying handle to pull out.
- BATTERY COMPARTMENT: 4x 1.5V (size C) Note: Batteries not included.
- AUX IN: 3.5mm AUX IN connector for external audio sources.
- HEADPHONES: 3.5mm headphone jack. The speaker is automatically disabled when headphones are connected.
- REM: 3.5mm connector for external microphone with remote control.
- MIKROFON: 3.5mm jack for external microphone.
- LOUDNESS: Rotate to adjust the volume

Note

POWER SUPPLY
Batteries
4x 1.5V “C” batteries are required to use the device (batteries not included).
Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Please pay attention to the
correct polarity in the battery compartment when inserting the batteries.
Please note that the power cable is not plugged into the AC input when using
batteries.
Power cable
Connect the power cable to the AC input on the device. Please note that
batteries are not included in the battery compartment when using the power
cable.
Note
- Remove the batteries / power cable if the device is not used for a long time. Batteries can leak and damage the device
- Use batteries of the same type.
- Never use different types of batteries.
- The device does not have a power switch to turn the device on or off.
INSERT CASSETTE
- Open the cassette compartment with the STOP/EJECT key.
- Insert the cassette underneath the cassette compartment lid as shown in the picture.
- The cassette tape points in the direction of the operating keys.
- To close the cassette compartment, press the cassette compartment down.
- You can now start playback.
Note
- Do not force the cassette compartment closed.
CASSETTE RECORDING
- To start audio recording from the built-in microphone, external 3.5mm microphone (not included) or external audio source through AUX IN, do the following.
- Press the PLAY and RECORD buttons simultaneously and the recording will start.
- To stop the recording, press the STOP/EJECT button.
Note
- Do not press the record button when the erase protection of the tape has been removed, this will cause the cassette to be over-recorded.
- The unit automatically adjusts the recording level. The volume control does not control the recording volume.

- Insert a cassette into the cassette compartment and press the cassette compartment down to close it.
- Use the following buttons to control playback.
