Safety

Damage due to incorrect voltage supply

CAUTION: Only use the device with the power supply provided.

Intended use of the cordless clipper Favorita CLi

Note: The device is intended exclusively for cutting animal hair. The Favorita CLi cordless clipper is used for shearing small animals. The Favorita CLi cordless clipper is used with a clipping head to be selected according to the respective application.

Intended use of the charger XT433/Li-ion battery XT431

The charger XT433 is used exclusively for charging the cordless clipper Favorita CLi and the Li-ion battery. There is one charging compartment each for both components.

Charging process

  1. Insert the plug into the power socket
  2. Insert either the battery XT431 into the rear charging compartment or the machine with the battery into the front charging compartment
  3. The battery is being charged if the LED light of the charging station flashes

Shearing with comb attachments

  • The device can also be used with comb attachments. Thus, the device is easy to set for various cutting lengths.

Clipping on/removing the comb attachment

  1. Place the hook at the base of the comb attachment between the clipping head and the dovetail, and pull the attachment comb over the teeth of the clipping head until it locks firmly into place
  2. Pull the comb in the direction of the teeth tips, so that it can be disassembled again.

Replacing the blade set

  1. Firstly, switch off the device by using the on/off switch 11
  2. Push the lever 5 in the direction of the machine
  3. Pull the blade set off the machine
  4. Select a suitable blade set
  5. Switch the machine on again by using the on/off switch 11
  6. Quickly push the blade set onto the machine while it is in operation

Adjusting the plate pressure

Note: In order to increase the cutting performance, the plate pressure may have to be adjusted, see fold-out page!

  • The knurled screw 15 must only be tightened so far that the upper cutting plate 19 can still be moved by hand from the side with the application of only an average amount of pressure.

Adjusting the plate pressure with the Torqui precision adjusting aid

Note: The manufacturer recommends using the Torqui precision adjusting aid for optimal adjustment of the plate pressure.

  • Insert the Torqui precision adjustment aid into the socket hex of the knurled screw and turn clockwise until a click can be heard.
  • Knurled screws of older clipping heads that do not have a socket hex can be retrofitted with the screw set GT141.

Disassembling the clipping head

  • Loosen knurled screw 15 with leaf spring 16
  • Push upper cutting plate 19 under pressure piece 14 out of the clipping head
  • The clipping head is now disassembled!

Oiling the clipping head

  • Disassemble the clipping head, see chapter “Disassembling the clipping head”.
  • Using a soft cloth or brush, clean the upper 19 and the lower 18 cutting plate. While doing so, ensure that the gaps between the teeth 17 are clean.
  • Lightly oil the upper 19 and the lower 18 cutting plate using GT604 special oil for clipping heads.
Grinding the cutting plate

Note: For grinding of the cutting plate, please contact the technical service department, see “Maintenance”.

Maintenance

To ensure reliable operation, Aesculap recommends servicing the product at least once a year.

Display

Charging level

The charging level indicator is activated automatically when moving the machine and indicates the current charging level of the battery according to three levels:

  • Fully charged
  • Partly discharged
  • Almost completely discharged (flashes when battery is to be replaced at the latest)

Oil LED light

  • Every 10 minutes, the oil LED light flashes for a few seconds to remind the user to oil the clipping head.

Temperature warning

Should the temperature of the battery exceed 50°C, an LED warning light will flash. In that case, the machine should be switched off, and the machine should be allowed to cool down for approx. 15 minutes.

Overload protection

In order to protect the machine against overload, it is equipped with overload protection. The overload LED light indicates if the machine is about to reach its limit. Should this limit be exceeded, the motor will first of all switch off. The LED light will flash for a few seconds, after which the machine will switch off completely. Should this problem occur frequently, it is necessary to check the plate pressure and to oil the clipping head if required.
