OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

This curling iron is intended for household use. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only. This unit is designed to be operated at 120V AC. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

NOTE: Do not use this styling appliance on hair extensions.

GETTING STARTED
Plug the iron into an electrical outlet. Turn on the unit. Allow the unit to heat up for 15 seconds.

IMPORTANT!
The temperature setting will automatically lock within 5 seconds of turning your appliance on. You may adjust the temperature immediately after turning the appliance on OR, if the temperature setting is locked, hold down the + or – button for 1–2 seconds to adjust it. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 1–2 seconds to turn off the unit (the light will go off). Never leave your curling iron on and unattended. However, should you fail to turn the unit off, it will shut itself off automatically within 60 minutes.

WARNING:
The curling iron’s titanium ceramic-coated barrel will get very hot within a few seconds and should not be placed in contact with the skin after the curling iron has been turned on.

ADVANCED IONIC TECHNOLOGY

Many aspects of modern living, including air conditioning, contact with man- made fibers, and air pollution, contribute to a buildup of static electricity in the hair. Even brushing and towel-drying the hair can increase these levels, causing the surface of the cuticle to become rough.

Consequently, hair may have a dull appearance. Also, high levels of static charge cause hair to become flyaway and difficult to style. The powerful ion generator produces a stream of negative ions that act to neutralize the static charge, smoothing the scales on the cuticle for shiny, smooth, and manageable hair, so you can achieve your desired style easily.

NOTE: The unit may produce a clicking sound at times, which is normal for a high-output ion generator.

STYLING WITH THE NEW TITANIUM CERAMIC-COATED EASY-GLIDE BARREL
The barrel of this premium curling iron is coated with a combination of the best materials for styling. A fusion of titanium and ceramic evenly distributes heat to gently style and protect hair from damaging hot spots. As you curl each strand, you’ll achieve a salon-perfect fi nish.

The barrel is exceptionally easy to clean, and you’ll discover this combination of technologies leaves your hair silky smooth.

USING INSTANT HEAT, THE 11 ULTRA-HIGH HEAT TEMPERATURE SETTINGS & UNIFORM HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM
This styling iron features a ceramic heater that maintains constant temperature during use for precision styling.

The instant heat technology has 11 ultra-high heat temperature settings. There is a temperature range that’s gentle and safe for every type of hair, from the fi nest to the most resistant, and helps you create the look you want. And that’s not all. Conair’s professional salon standards of engineering provide you with a uniform and improved heat recovery system that maintains the iron at constant temperatures. There is a constant surge of power to ensure that heat is continuously and quickly delivered for optimal styling results, unlike other units, which lose heat during use. This provides consistent styling power so that every strand of your hair is set with the same level of heat and comes out the same way for a perfect finish.

The iron’s unique 11 high-heat temperature settings and instant heat technology provide styling versatility for all hair types. If you have fine hair, a low temperature will provide the best results. If you have thick, wavy or hard-to-curl hair, keep the heat setting on high. You can vary the iron’s temperature according to your particular need!

Temperature Setting Guide
LCD TEMP. CONTROL HAIR TYPE
Low 220ºF – 310ºF Fragile/Fine Hair
Medium 310ºF – 330ºF Medium/Normal Hair
Med-High 330ºF – 365ºF Wavy/Curly Hair
High/Max 365ºF – 400ºF Coarse/Thick Hair
TO CURL HAIR

Hair should be clean and completely dry before using the curling iron. Section hair evenly, and comb each section before winding. For best results, use a light styling product before blow-drying hair.

  1. Start curling with a hair section that is 1 inch wide and no more than ½ inch thick. Open the spoon and place the curling iron midway up the hair section, then spread hair evenly between the spoon and barrel. Gently slide the curling iron down to the hair ends. To avoid crimped ends, make sure they are securely wound under the spoon in the direction of the desired curl. Remember, always place the spoon above the hair strand when making a curl you want to be rolled under; place the spoon under the hair strand when creating a flip style.
  2. Wind the hair up as far as you want it curled, being careful not to let the iron touch the scalp. Hold for 8–12 seconds, depending on the length and texture of your hair. For tighter, bouncier curls, roll less hair. For looser, free-flowing curls, roll more hair. Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the hairstyle you desire.
  3. To remove the curling iron, unwind the hair and press the handle and allow the curl to slide out. To set the curl, do not comb or brush curls until cool.
  4. Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the hairstyle you desire. It may be necessary to repeat the process in certain areas, depending on the texture of your hair.

Some experience is necessary when using this curling iron. After using the iron several times, you will learn the ideal way to curl and style your hair.
