child gets trapped with the helmet.
INSTRUCTIONS ON ASSEMBLY AND USE
Please read these instructions carefully. The instructions are an integral part of the product. Therefore, please store them and the packaging carefully in case questions arise in the future. Please always include these instructions when you are handing on the product to a third-party. Children should only assemble or use the product when they are under adult supervision. This product is not designed for industrial use. Use the product for its intended purpose only. This helmet was developed to absorb a portion of the energy of a fall. In accordance with EN 1078, the helmet can be used during cycling, skating, roller skating and skateboarding.
HOW DO I SET THE CORRECT SIZE?
The helmet can fully protect only when it fits correctly. On the inside of the
helmet, you will find a tag with the tested size categories. Inside the shell
the helmet is equipped with an adjustable ring. Turn the adjustment ring (A)
clockwise or counter-clockwise to lengthen or shorten the ring. It is
advisable to test different-sized helmets for comparison. The choice should
fall on a helmet that fits tightly and at the same time comfortably. The
helmet should not move when in motion.
HOW SHOULD THE HELMET FIT?
Now that the helmet fits correctly, it needs to be adapted to its wearer.
Extend the adjustment ring so that the helmet fits loosely on the head. The
helmet should clasp around the head well and should be worn level. The front
of the helmet brim should be 1-2 fingerbreadths above the root of the nose.
Adjust the adjustment ring until the helmet fits solid. Whether the helmet is
fastened securely can be tested by shaking the head lightly with the chin
straps open. When the helmet moves, you need to slightly adjust the adjustment
ring.
HOW DO I SET THE STRAPS CORRECTLY?
Check which strap is loose. Tighten the loose strap after removing the helmet.
When tightening the chin straps, hold the buckle with one hand and then push
the loose strap through. In order to tighten the rear strap, you pull the
excess part of the rear of strap 2. Hold the helmet with one hand. With the
other hand you pull the strap that runs under the chin of the wearer. Then
pull this strap from one side to the other, to even the length of all four
straps. The catch should not be placed directly under the chin.
- Neck straps holds it at the back of the head (B)
- Front chin strap (C)
- Rear strap (D)
- Back (E)
- Strap 2 (F)
- Front (G)
- Hoop guide (H)
The helmet must be on the head securely and horizontally. To test the correct tension you need to place the helmet, with the catch closed, on the head. With an open mouth, the strap is supposed to press against the chin. Then try to pull the helmet from the front and the back. If the helmet slides, you need to adjust the tension of the strap. The helmet is not supposed to slide from the front of the back. It should also not be able to take off the helmet without releasing the catch. The straps on the side should be placed behind the left and right ear (see illustration), the straps should not slide over the ears.
WARNINGS
- Not a single helmet is able to protect fully against unforeseen injuries! A helmet can only prevent severe injury to the head during a fall. Wearing other protective equipment like arm, knee and elbow protection is recommended.
- Don’t wear a scarf, high hair etc. under the helmet. Danger of injury!
- When wearing the helmet, the chin strap should be closed!
- Check the helmet before every ride for visible damage or wear, and the tight fit, even if there is no visible damage from the outside, the helmet should be replaced and destroyed after every hard stroke or deep scratches. Latest after five years without damage, the helmet should be replaced, a damaged or old helmet does not offer sufficient protection against possible injuries.
- Kindly do not alter or delete anything about the helmet. Then this can have dangerous consequences.
- The effect of coatings (paint), adhesives, detergents, chemicals and solvents, severely damage the protective effect of the helmet. Clean the helmet with lukewarm water or with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Do not use the helmet anymore in case it does not fit correctly anymore. In this case a different size or model should be chosen.
- Make sure the straps do not cover the ears.
- Position the buckle away from the jawbone.
- Store in a dry and cool place.
