Manual overrides can be used to temporarily adjust speed or duration while a schedule or TIMED RUN is operating.
- AUTO schedules: Only speed can be adjusted through manual override
- CLEAN / TIMED RUNS 1-8: Both speed and duration can be adjusted through manual override
PROGRAMMING PUMP AUTO SCHEDULES AND TIMED RUNS – ACCESS VIA MENU
Auto Schedules
- Up to 10 schedules can be created.
- Choose from preset names or create a custom name.
- AUTO schedules default to run every day of the week. Edit the schedule to change the days.
- If two or more schedules overlap, the schedule with the highest RPM speed will take precedence.
- AUTO schedules can be turned OFF. The schedule will remain in memory but will not run at the scheduled time until turned back ON.
- The speed of an AUTO schedule currently running may be manually overridden to a higher or lower speed for the duration of the current schedule.
Timed Runs
- CLEAN plus 1-8 provides up to 9 customizable TIMED RUNS.
- Choose from preset names or create a custom name. CLEAN name cannot be changed.
- Duration range allowed is 15 minutes to 24 hours.
- When a TIMED RUN is complete, pump always returns to AUTO mode.
- The speed and duration of a currently running TIMED RUN can be temporarily overridden.
- TIMED RUNS can be deleted. When deleted, the associated button will become inoperable until reprogrammed.
WARNING
To prevent risk of electrical shock which can result in severe injury or
death, ENSURE that the pump is OFF and power to the pump is disconnected
before proceeding with installation. To reduce the risk of electric shock,
fire or injury, service should only be attempted by a qualified pool service
professional

CONNECTING TO AUTOMATION
The Jandy® SpeedSet™ controller supports automation wiring pass-through. When connected to an automation system, the Speed Set controller will pass automation commands to the variable-speed pump. This setup also allows for temporary local control of the pump using the Speed Set controller.
Automation System Wiring
-
Loosen screws and lift hinge.
-
Plug the wired RS485 (Red, Black, Yellow, Green) into the 4 pin connector labeled AUTOMATION on the back of the Speed Set controller.
-
Feed approximately 6″ of wire through the strain relief channel to ensure an easy installation.
-
Lower hinge and tighten screws
Automation Mode and Temporary Local Control
-
When the pump is under automation control, the display will read
“Automated” as shown. -
When automated, all buttons are disabled except the STOP button.
The STOP button can be used to stop the pump locally and automation commands will be ignored. -
The pump will remain off indefinitely until one of the following local actions occur:
- Manually resume automation control by pressing AUTO.
- Setup a TIMED STOP. When timer ends, the pump will return to AUTO mode under automation control.
- Locally run TIMED RUNS CLEAN, 1 or 2. When TIMED RU is complete, the pump will return to AUTO mode under automation control.
SETTINGS GUIDE
Priming| Priming ensures all air is removed from the system before normal
operation. Adjust speed and duration as needed. Default is 2750 RPM for 3
minutes
---|---
Freeze Protect| Freeze protect is factory preset to 38°F at 1725 RPM for 1
hour and is intended to help protect the pump and other pool equipment from
freezing temperatures. Temperature, speed, and duration settings are user
adjustable. IMPORTANT – Freeze protection is intended to protect equipment and
plumbing for short periods of freezing only. It does not guarantee equipment
will not be damaged by extended periods of freezing temperatures or power
outages. In these conditions, the pool/spa should be shut down completely
(e.g., drained and winterized) until warmer conditions exist. NOTE: When
engaged, pump will run at the programmed priming speed and priming duration
before starting freeze protect speed. When the pump is in STOP mode, all pump
functions, including freeze protect, are disabled.
Min/Max Speed| Min/Max speeds are used to help ensure pool health and safety.
The maximum water velocity through the suction outlet assembly and its cover
for any suction outlet must not exceed the suction fitting assembly and its
cover’s maximum design fl ow rate. The suction outlet (drain) assembly and its
cover must comply with the latest version of ASME A112.19.8 or its successor
standard, ANSI/APSP-16. Adjusted MIN/MAX speeds will automatically change
programmed AUTO schedules and TIMED RUNS.
Time & Date| Set date, time of day, clock format, date format, turn automatic
daylight savings time on/off.
AUX Relays| Select Jady pumps are equipped with 2 programmable Auxiliary
Relays. Use the Speed Set controller to change the speeds at which the relays
open and close. IMPORTANT: Edited Aux Relay speeds are written to the variable
speed drive and remain in effect even if the Speed Set controller is
disconnected.
User Lockout| User Lockout is used to prevent unwanted changes to vital pump
settings by requiring either a PIN code or long press to edit settings. After
the controller is unlocked, a PIN code or long press will not be required
again until 30 minutes of inactivity is detected. Protected settings defaults
to all, but can be changed in the setting menu
Fault History| Use for troubleshooting and identifying technical issues
Setup History| Use to review edit history and to restore previously edited
settings, if necessary
Factory Reset| Restore pump to out-of-box factory default settings. All custom
programs and settings will be erased
