Safety instructions
Danger – powerful magnetic fields
-
Powerful magnetic fields can adversely affect persons with active medical implants (e.g. pacemaker) as well as electromechanical devices (e.g. magnetic cards, mechanical clocks, precision mechanics, hard disks).
-
With regard to the effect of powerful magnetic fields
on persons, the applicable national stipulations and regulations must be complied with such as BGV B11 §14 „electromagnetic fields“ (occupational health and safety – electromagnetic fields) in the Federal Republic of Germany. -
To avoid interference/disruption, always keep the implant or device a safe distance of at least 30 cm away from the magnet.
Disposal of batteries
In accordance with the guideline 2006/66/EC, defective or depleted batteries or cells must be separated and taken for recycling in an environmentally appropriate process.
For lithium-based primary and secondary batteries as well as other high
performance batteries
Only dispose of completely discharged batteries. If a battery is not
completely discharged, precautions must be taken to prevent short circuiting
its terminals, e.g. isolation of the terminals.
Notice about transporting products containing lithium batteries
The battery has been built and tested according to the current UN manual 38.3.
Effective protection against overpressure, short-circuit, forceful breakage
and reverse current are provided. Refer to the operating instructions for
battery data. If no specific safety information is provided this means the
quantity of lithium and energy level are below the currently applicable
limits. In this case the battery, neither on its own nor installed in the
device, is subject to international hazardous materials regulations. The
transport of multiple batteries could be relevant for hazardous materials
regulations, please observe the special conditions (e.g. packaging).
Notice about disposal
Electrical devices, mechanical devices, batteries, accessories and packaging
should be recycled in an environmentally appropriate process to recover
valuable raw materials. Please contact your municipal authority for
information on corresponding disposal facilities and comply with the disposal
and safety information at the collection sites.
For EU countries
Do not put electric devices into household garbage.
The European directive for scrap electric and electronic devices dictates they
must be collected separately and sent to an environmentally appropriate
recycling facility. Electric devices are marked with an icon of a crossed-out
garbage can. Batteries must be removed from the device before its disposal,
the batteries must be disposed of separately.
