KM14 Waterproof Digital Thermometer
Press the ON/OFF button to start or stop operation of the KM14. The unit will
automatically power off after 35 minutes to save battery life. Press the °F/”C
button to select Fahrenheit or Celsius scale.
MAX Temperature: Press the MAX button for 2 seconds to display the maximum
temperature recorded. Press the button again for 2 seconds to return to the
current temperature display. To cleer the MAX reading, press and hold both the
MAX and ON/OFF buttons at the same time until •–• is displayed.
Data Hold: to hold a displayed reading, press the D-H button. H will show in
the top right hand corner of the screen and the display will flash while data
hold is in operation. Press the button again to return to normal operation.
Battery Removal: Use a screwdriver blade or coin to turn the battery cover
counter clockwise for removal. Replace with a 1.5volt LR44 battery and tum
cover clockwise until tight.
Field Calibration Procedures
- The KM14 is only calibratable in a slush ice solution (60% crushed ice and 40% tap water) or a water bath. Do not attempt to calibrate in any other manner.
- Immerse the stem of the thermometer to at least half length in the slush ice solution.
- Wait for the reading to become stable (usually ±2° of 32°F or :1: 1 • of 0°C).
- Press and hold the CAL button for 8 seconds to begin calibration.
- CAL will be displayed for two seconds and calibration at 32°F/0°C is completed.
- Remove the thermometer from the ice water and continue to take measurements
Note: CAL will be displayed any time the CAL key is pressed for 7 seconds,but the thermometer will not be recalibrated unless the tip is inserted In ice.
