Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage to the appliance:

General Notes

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the in-ternal packing. If you pass the appliance on to a third party, always include all the relevant documents.

  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private and not for commercial use.
  • Only use the appliance for the intended purpose.
  • Do not use a damaged appliance.
  • Keep away from heat, direct sunlight, damp (never immerse in liquids) and sharp edges.
  • Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician.
  • Children should be supervised at all times in order to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
  • WARNING:
    Do not allow small children to play with the plastic foil. There is a danger of suffocation!

Special Safety Instructions for this Appliance

WARNING:If the weighing surface is damp or if there are water drops on it, first wipe it dry, as there is a risk of slipping. When the scale is not in use, store it only in a horizontal position.

Handling of Batteries

  • Do not charge!

  • Do not disassemble!

  • Insert correctly!

  • Keep away from children!

  • Do not short circuit!

  • Danger of explosion!
    Do not expose batteries to intense heat, such as sunlight, fire or similar.

  • Batteries can leak battery acid. If the appliance is not in
    use for a long period of time, remove the batteries.

  • In case of battery leakage, make sure not to rub the liquid into your eyes or mucous membranes. In case of contact, wash your hands and rinse your eyes with clear water. Seek medical attention if any discomfort persists.

  • Different battery types or new and used batteries must not be used together.

  • Batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer’s.

Unpacking the Appliance

  1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.
  2. Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.
  3. Check the appliance for possible transport damage to avoid hazards. Do not operate a damaged appliance. Return it to the dealer immediately.

Inserting the Batteries (Batteries not included)

  1. Remove the cover of the battery compartment at the bottom of the appliance.

  2. Insert 2 x type AAA / R03 batteries into the battery compartment.
    Please ensure correct polarity. You will find a note in the battery compartment. Do not use rechargeable batteries / accumulators.

  3. Close the battery compartment with the cover again.

  4. If the message “ Lo ” appears on the display, replace the batteries.

Notes for Use

  • The personal scale is designed for a maximum weight of 180 kg (396.8 lb).

  • To obtain a comparable value, we recommend that you always weigh yourself at the same time of day without
    clothes and shoes.

  • The scale rounds up or down in steps of 50 g.

Using the Appliance

  1. Place the scale on a hard, flat surface (avoid carpets). An uneven floor contributes to inaccurate measurements.
  2. Turn on the scale by light pressure with the foot onto the weighing surface.
  3. The value “0.00 kg” appears (0.0 lb). The display also shows the room temperature in °C.
    • There is a small button on the back of the scale.
    • Press this button when switched on to select between the settings “kg” and “lb”.
  4. Stand on the scale with both feet.
  5. Distribute your weight equally and wait for the scale to determine your weight.
  6. The digits on the display will flash before your exact weight will be shown.
    • In order to extend the battery life, the appliance will automatically turn off 10 seconds after you have stepped off the scale.
    • If there is no weight determination while “0.00” is shown, the scale will shut off automatically after 10 seconds.
    • If the display shows “EEEE”, the weight is over 180 kg (396.8 lb). In this case, step off the scale immediately, otherwise the scale may be damaged.

Cleaning

CAUTION:

  • Do not immerse the balance in water: the electronic components can be damaged.
  • Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
  • Clean the appliance with a slightly moist cloth. Make sure that no humidity or waters seeps into the appliance!
  • Use a commercially sold detergent or soap for cleaning.
  • Dry the appliance well after cleaning with a dry and soft cloth.

Disposal

Disposal of Batteries
Your appliance contains batteries. If these batteries are spent, follow the instructions below:

CAUTION:
Batteries / rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste!

  • The batteries must be removed from the appliance.
  • Take spent batteries to the appropriate collection point or to a dealer.
  • Your town or local authority can provide information about public collection points.

Meaning of the “Dustbin” Symbol

  • Protect our environment: do not dispose of electrical equipment in the domestic waste.
  • Please return any electrical equipment that you will no longer use to the collection points provided for their disposal.
  • This helps avoid the potential effects of incorrect disposal on the environment and human health.
  • This will contribute to the recycling and other forms of reutilisation of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Information concerning where the equipment can be disposed of can be obtained from your local authority.
  • Your dealer and contractual partner is also obliged to take back the old appliance free of charge
