User Guide

General information

This charger must only be used with bicycles that have MAHLE XSeries systems to charge 36V Lithium Ion batteries. Do not connect the charger to other batteries or use other chargers that are not certified by MAHLE. Check that the charger is suitable for the network voltage it will be connected to. Follow the manufacturers recommendations.

Automatic reverse polarity protection. If it is connected incorrectly, the charger stops the power supply avoiding damage to the battery. In the event of a permanent short circuit, the charger automatically stops the charge and switches off.

Connection and charge

STEP PROCESS CHARGER LED EBIKE
1 Connect the charger to the electric mains (AC) GREEN All OK
2 Connect the charger to the battery charging point,
There are 3 possible situations: 1
2.1 The charger turns off RED BLINK eBike short circuit
2.2 Battery is charging normally RED Battery < 100%
2.3 Charging process completed (Disconnect) GREEN Battery = 100%
3 Disconnect the charger from the charging point GREEN All OK
4 Disconnect the charger from the wall socket OFF All OK

Troubleshooting

  1. The charger LED does not turn on when connecting it to a wall socket:
    a. Connect the charger to another wall socket that works
    b. Check that the charger’s cable is in good condition and correctly connected to the wall socket and the charger.
    *If the problem continues, ask for help at your shop or authorised technical support service. Do not open or try to fix the charger yourself.

  2. The LED is RED after connecting the charger to the wall socket and before the charger is connected to the battery:
    a. The charger may be damaged. Try with another compatible charger or contact your supplier.

  3. The charger’s LED turns off when connecting it to the battery:
    a. There is a short circuit at the charging point or in the battery of your eBike. Contact your shop or your technical support service.
    *If you have accidentally connected the charger to the bike first, then you connected it to the electricity (AC) and the charger’s LED does not turn on, there may be a short circuit in your eBike. In this case, ask for help at your shop or your authorised technical support service.

Safety

  1. This Charger meets the requirements of European Directive RoHS for electronic products.
  2. Do not open or try to fix the charger under any circumstances.
  3. Do not cover the charger. It could overheat. Remember that it is designed to be used indoors and in dry places.
  4. If the bike or the battery are too cold, wait until they warm up before starting the charging process.
  5. This equipment is not designed to be used by children or people who cannot understand the instructions manual unless they are supervised by an adult. Store the charger in a safe place. Keep out of the reach of children.
  6. Only use plug adapters if the ELECTRICITY MAINS (AC) are compatible with the charger’s voltage (90-264V, 50-60Hz).
  7. Do not throw the charger out with household waste. It contains electric elements that must be recycled by a competent body. Check your country’s regulations for suitable recycling.
  8. Do not move the bike while the battery is charging. This may cause the charger and bike connectors to become loose or dislodged, so they are not properly plugged in, and this could generate a fire hazard.
