WIRING YOUR CONTROL UNIT

  • Step 1: The black wire on the control box connects to the negative (-) battery post or other common ground point. If the black wire on the remote unit is not long enough, use the additional grey wire provided in the kit. To lengthen the black ground wire use a supplied red butt splice to connect the grey wire to the black wire. Cut the grey wire to length. Add a red ring terminal to the end of the grey wire and connect the ring terminal to the negative (-) battery post or common ground point.
  • Step 2: Connect the two red wires from the control box to a key-power-source rated for 5 amps or more. If the wire on the remote unit is not long enough, use the additional length of wire provided in the kit. To lengthen the red power wire use a supplied red butt splice to connect the additional wire to the red wire. Cut the wire to length. You can use an add-a-fuse™ or scotch-lok™ connector to tap into a key-power-source.
  • Step 3a: If remote is used with a horn button. The yellow wire on the control box is the trigger wire and connects to the positive wire supplying power to the solenoid valve. Make sure to connect the yellow wire to the positive wire in between the air valve and the toggle switch. To lengthen the yellow power wire use a supplied red butt splice to connect the grey wire to the yellow wire. Cut the grey wire to length. Add a red scotch-lock connector to connect both the new grey wire and existing horn power wire.
  • Step 3b: If remote is used as the primary device for honking the horn, no horn button. The yellow wire on the control box is the trigger wire and connects to the positive wire supplying power to the horn. To lengthen the yellow power wire use a supplied red butt splice to connect the grey wire to the yellow wire. Cut the grey wire to length. Use a second red butt splice to connect the new grey wire
  • Step 4: Using a small phillips screwdriver, unscrew the fastener on the back of the transmitter. Gently open the transmitter and install the supplied 23A battery. Make sure positive (+) is placed on the positive terminal and negative (-) is placed on the negative terminal. Replace the cover and reinstall the screw.

Operation

Slide the protective guard down on the remote to expose the red button and then extend the antenna as needed. Press the red button and the horn will honk. A red light will illuminate on the remote whenever the red button is pressed. Release the button to stop the honk
