What’s included in the box

Probe overview

The probe is only used to detect the motion detection of vehicles and metal objects. It should be buried parallel to the edge of the driveway and 0.5 ft. into the ground. The probe needs to be connected to the transmitter by a 16 ft. cable to work. When installed properly, once a moving vehicle or metal object enters the probe’s 12 ft. radius, it will activate the transmitter and send a signal to the receiver.

Transmitter overview
The transmitter is installed with the PVC mounting tubes in an open area on the ground to help produce successful transmissions. The transmitter will flash lights and send the signal to the receiver when the probe detects vehicles and metal objects. The transmitter is equipped with solar panels and a built-in 1800 mAh rechargeable battery that can last 6-12 months on a full charge. If the battery of the transmitter is low, the transmitter will flash a blue light and the low battery indicator located on the receiver will flash as well whenever the transmitter triggers the alarm.

  • Turn On – The indicator will flash a red light
  • Alarm Triggered – The indicator will flash lights
  • Quick Pairing Button – Click the button during pairing, the indicator will flash a blue light Charging – The indicator will show a solid red light (non-flashing)
  • Fully Charged – The indicator will show a solid green light (non-flashing)
  • Lower Power – The indicator will flash a blue light

Note:

  1. If there are metal objects within a 12 ft. radius of the transmitter, the transmitter may detect them and trigger the receiver’s alarm even if you unplug the probe. This is normal and means the metal detection feature is working. This issue can quickly be fixed after installing the transmitter outdoors.
  2. The transmitter is only charged to 20% power when it leaves the factory. Please charge it fully by the adapter cable before installing.

Receiver Overview

The receiver will continue to work inside of the house. It can be operated by AC power or 3 AA batteries (NOT INCLUDED). The receiver has many functions, including channel settings, volume settings, melodies settings, mute mode, etc.

  1. ON/ OFF: Press & hold to turn ON/ OFF the receiver
Turn On – 8 channel indicators will flash one by one.
Turn Off – The low battery indicator will flash twice on the receiver.

  2. MELODIES Button: There are 12 melodies available. Simply click and choose your favorite one.

  3. PAIRED Button: Press & hold for 3+ seconds to enter pairing mode. while the receiver’s alarm is active.
Press & Hold – This will reset the receiver and restore the factory setting. This will also reset all the previous pairings with all of the sensors.

  4. Volume Button: Click to adjust volume. There are 4 volume levels available. The lowest volume level is MUTE mode.

  5. Low Battery Indicator: The low battery indicator will flash on the receiver if the battery for the transmitter is low. Once you see this light begin to flash when the alarm is triggered, please recharge your transmitter.

Note:

  1. The receiver can be powered by either AC power or 3 AA batteries. You can use both simultaneously, however, you need to check the batteries every 3 months to avoid any safety issues that may be caused by battery leakage or corrosion.
  2. The batteries are for emergency use only. We recommend using AC power for the receiver, since batteries will only power the receiver for up to 7 days.
  3. If you reset the receiver, it will not receive any signal from any of the transmitters. You will need to pair your transmitter with the receiver again to re-establish a connection.
  4. If your system has multiple transmitters and the low battery indicator is flashing, you can determine which transmitter needs to be charged by looking for the one that is flashing a blue light.

Getting Started

The “sensor” is a combination of the probe and transmitter. The sensor will arrive pre-configured to a default pairing setting if you buy a set that contains both a sensor and receiver. You will only need to use the pairing operations when you want to change the channel for your sensor, if you want to expand your driveway alarm system with an additional sensor, or to repair severed pairing connections.

Power on your device

  • Probe & Transmitter: Connect the probe to the transmitter. Then, remove the cap of the transmitter and turn it on. If the unit is flashing red, it means it has powered on successfully.
    Note:
If the transmitter does not flash red once it’s turned on, it may be out of power. Please charge the transmitter fully before use.

  • Receiver: Plug into AC power or install 3 AA batteries (NOT INCLUDED) into the receiver. Once the receiver has been powered on, 8 channel indicators will flash one by one indicating that the receiver has powered on successfully. By default, the receiver will turn on after receiving power.
    Note:
The receiver will sound after all units have been powered on, even if there are no moving metal objects in the surrounding area. Do not worry, as this is a normal response after the transmitter has been activated. This issue will disappear after installing the receiver outdoors.

Check if the receiver and transmitter are paired
After powering on your device, please slide your mobile phone or a metal object parallel to the probe. The transmitter should flashlights, and the receiver should sound an alarm. If both of these events occur and the corresponding channel indicator flashes for 60 seconds when receiver sounds, then pairing was successful.
Note:
If the transmitter flashes lights, but the receiver does not sound and the corresponding channel indicator does not flash, please check the operations found in Chapter 3.2 to pair your transmitter with the receiver again.

Test Signal/ Detecting Range

  • Signal Range: Transmission distance up to 0.5 miles (2600 ft)
  • Leave the receiver inside the home and place your probe and transmitter in your desired monitoring location.
  • Slide your mobile phone or a metal object parallel to the probe. At this time, the transmitter should flash a light, the receiver located inside the home should ring, and the corresponding channel indicator should be flashing.
  • If the transmitter flashes a light, but there is no response from the receiver, please shorten the distance between the sensor (the combination of the probe & transmitter together) and the receiver before you continue testing.
  • Detecting Range ( Probe Sensing Distance: Detection distance of up to 12 feet.)
  • Confirm that the signal works for the transmission in your desired monitored location, then proceed to the next step: Test Detection Distance of Probe.
  • Place the probe parallel to the edge of the driveway and drive your car close enough to enter the 12-foot detection radius. If detection is successful, the transmitter will flash a light once the probe detects motion.
  • If there is no response from the transmitter, please adjust the distance between probe and driveway and continue testing until the transmitter responds.
  • During testing, you can also adjust the sensitivity clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on your needs.

Note:

  1. The working range of 2600 ft. is tested in an open space. The range will change according to your unique circumstances. For example, if you are near a thick forest or have metal nearby, the range will decrease due to the additional obstacles. For best results, please test the range before installing the sensor (probe & transmitter). Based on the results of our internal tests, the transmission range of this driveway alarm system is better than other similar products.
  2. Confirm that there are no metal objects within a 12 ft. radius of the probe. Otherwise the probe will encounter magnetic interference during testing and use, which may limit the probe’s ability to detect moving vehicles.

Charging the Transmitter
The transmitter features a built-in 1800 mAh rechargeable battery, however, it is only charged to 20% power when it leaves the factory. For best results, please charge the transmitter fully by the adapter cable before installation.

  • Low Power – The transmitter will flash blue and the low battery indicator will flash on the receiver.
  • Charging- The transmitter will display a solid RED light.
  • Fully Charged – The transmitter will display a solid GREEN light.

The transmitter will take 6-8 hours to fully charge and can last 6-12 months (based on usage of up to 5 times per day). Therefore, it is not equipped with a separate charger. Please charge it by the adapter cable of the receiver.

Probe and Transmitter Installation
After confirming the transmission and detection distance base on the operations of Chapter 2.3 and the transmitter is fully charged, the probe and transmitter can now be installed. The steps are as follows:

  1. Dig a pit about 0.5 ft deep, 1.2ft long and 0.65 ft wide in your desired monitoring location. The pit should be parallel to the driveway, then, bury the probe into the pit.
  2. Dig a narrow trench or slit from the PROBE to the location of the TRANSMITTER using a flat spade or another tool. This trench/slit will be used to bury the cable between the probe and the transmitter.
  3. Install the transmitter using the PVC mounting tubes in an open area on the ground for optimal signal transmission.

Note:

  1. Install the probe away from heavy traffic to prevent unwanted alarms.
  2. Install the probe as far as possible from power transformers, power lines, underground gas line, and telephone lines.
  3. Please keep in mind that the length of cable to connect the probe and the transmitter is 16 feet. Be sure not to install the sensor components too far apart to avoid connectivity issues.

Melodies & Volume Setting
After installing the probe and transmitter, you can now set the volume and melodies on the receiver. 4 Volume Levels – Click to adjust volume. The lowest volume is on MUTE mode. 12 Melodies – Click to choose your preferred melody.

Note:

  1. The lowest volume is the MUTE mode. In this mode, the receiver will not sound. However, the corresponding channel indicator will flash for 1 minute when the receiver receives a signal from the transmitter.
  2. The melodies settings have a memory function, which will store your melody selection even if the receiver is turned off or you experience a power outage.
  3. The different sensor can not be set the different tones.

Usage

  1. Open your package as soon as it arrives and test it to ensure there are no quality issues with the product(check the operations of Chapter 2.1-2.3 ). Then, charge the transmitter fully and install the probe and the transmitter (collectively called the “sensor”) in the outdoor location you want to monitor.
  2. If a moving vehicle or a metal object approaches the probe within a 12 ft. radius, the transmitter will flash a light and send a signal to the receiver.
  3. When the receiver receives the signal from the transmitter, it will sound, and the corresponding channel indicator will flash for 1 minute.

Notes

  1. Always test that the transmission distance and the detection range of your sensor (probe & transmitter) is working in your desired location before installation.
  2. Keep the 12-foot radius surrounding the probe free of metal objects. This will avoid magnetic interference during testing and regular use, which will help to prevent false alarms.
  3. The sensor (probe and transmitter) will “sleep” for 3 seconds after detecting motion. This means that the sensor will pause for 3 seconds before it begins detecting objects again.
  4. Transmitters with solar panels can be installed in direct sunshine to receive solar power.

Advanced Settings

  • Step 3: Click the PAIRED button again to select the channel for your sensor.
  • Step 4: Slide your mobile phone or a metal object parallel to the probe or click the Pairing button on the transmitter. Then, the transmitter should flash a light and the next channel indicator should flash on the receiver. lf this occurs, it means pairing is successful.
  • Step 5: After completing the pairing process, click the RESET button to quit pairing mode. Step 6: Slide your mobile phone or a metal object parallel to the probe again to check if your sensor triggers an alert.

Note:
In pairing mode, if the receiver does not detect anything within 10 seconds, it will exit pairing mode automatically.

Additional Notes

  1. You can adjust the sensitivity of your transmitter at any time.
  2. This sensor adapts our latest technology and only detects moving vehicles or metal objects, effectively avoiding false alarms caused by leaves or animals.

Questions & Answers

Below are some of the most common problems encountered by our customers. For your convenience, we have provided detailed answers to all of these questions to help you find the solutions you need for any issues you may encounter.
Question 1: It’s only been a few months and my alarm is not working. What should I do?
Answer 1: For this issue, we suggest the following:

  1. Check if the transmitter has run out of power. The transmitter can keep working between 6-12 months after a full charge, however, it only has about 20% power when it leaves the factory, so it needs to be charged fully by the adapter cable before installing.
  2. Check if the transmitter flashes a light when it detects motion. If it does, attempt to pair it with the receiver again. For more details on how to pair your devices, please read section 3.2 of this manual.
  3. If you have tried both methods above and the problem persists, please contact us via email or Facebook so that we can help you. Please include your order ID in the message as well as detailed information about the issue you’re experiencing. If you have pictures or video, please include them in your message to help us identify and resolve your problem more accurately.

Question 2: The working range doesn’t reach 2600 ft.
Answer 2: The working range of 2600 ft. is tested in an open space. The range will change according to your unique circumstances. For example, if you are near a thick forest or have metal nearby, the range will decrease due to the additional obstacles. Based on the results of our internal tests, the transmission range of this driveway alarm system is better than other similar products.

Question 3: The alarm system works intermittently.
Answer 3: This issue is caused by either low sensitivity or the transmitter having very low power. Please increase the sensitivity or recharge the transmitter.

Question 4: How do I know if the receiver is turned on?
Answer 4: After connecting to power, please click the VOLUME button and check to see if there is a sound. If you hear a sound, it means the receiver is turned on.

Question 5: The receiver only works for a few days with 3 AA batteries. Is that normal?
Answer 5: The batteries are for emergency use only. For daily use, we recommend using AC power for the receiver, since batteries will only power the receiver for up to 7 days {based on usage of up to 5 alerts per day).

Question 6: Can we set different melodies for each sensor?
Answer 6: At this time, different sensors cannot be set to different melodies. However, it is possible to know which sensor triggered the alarm by viewing the receiver to see which corresponding channel indicator is flashing. Each channel indicator corresponds to just one sensor, which will notify you as to which sensor was triggered.

Question 7: Will there be a lot of false alarms?
Answer 7: This driveway alarm detects moving vehicles and metal objects only. Our technology avoids false alarms caused by leaves or animals. If you encounter the false alarm, it may be caused by the high sensitivity level, please adjust the sensitivity to a lower.
