SAFETY CAUTIONS

Before using this product, please read carefully and understand all safety instructions thoroughly. Failure to follow these safety instructions may lead to Electrical Shock,
Explosion, and Fire, which can result in property damage, serious injury, and even death.

  • We strongly recommend this product NOT to be used for any application other than for what it was designed.
  • Before using this product, refer to your battery manufacturer’s manual to determine the voltage and chemistry of the battery.
  • Do not attempt to charge a damaged or frozen battery. Incompatible or damaged batteries can explode if the charger is improperly used.
  • Do not use the charger if the power cords are damaged.
  • Clean the battery terminal if it is dirty or corroded. Keep it dry.
  • Do not smoke or use any source of electrical spark or flame during its operation to avoid fire.
  • Make sure the area around the battery is well-ventilated while the battery is being charged. To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow all safety instructions published by the battery manufacturer.
  • Wear safety goggles during its whole operation. Batteries can cause flying debris and emit toxic gases. Remove all personal items made of metal, such as rings, necklaces, and watches, when working with a lead-acid battery.
  • Place fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid touches skin, clothing, or eyes. If acid makes contact with eyes, then immediately wash it with running cold water for at least ten minutes and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
  • Place the battery charger as far away from the battery as possible. Do not put the charger directly above the battery.
  • Do not submerge the charger in water or get it wet.
  • Keep the charger away from children. It is not a toy.
  • Disconnect or connect the cables only when the charger is powered off. Store the charger in a well-ventilated and dry place every time you finish charging.

CHARGING YOUR VEHICLE BATTERY

Important: Please do not operate the charger until you confirm the appropriate charging mode for your battery.
You can verify the voltage and chemistry of the battery by consulting the manufacturer’s manual, or by reading the label on the battery.

  1. Connect the clamps to vehicle battery terminals. Red clamp to the positive polarity (+), black clamp to the negative polarity (-).

  2.  Connect the charger’s plug to the socket, it will turn on automatically and the green indicator will be lit.
(Note: In the event of improper operation such as over temperature, short circuit, over voltage, reverse connection or reverse charging, the red warning indicator lights up and charging will be terminated. )

  3. Press the MODE button to toggle among
Charging Modes. The corresponding icon will light up once the mode is selected.

  4. Press the OK button to confirm the mode. The battery level indicator that displays 100% power will light up and all four battery level indicators will be solid white when the battery gets fully charged.

CHARGING TIMES
The size of the battery (Ah) and its depth of discharge (DOD) greatly affect its charging time. The estimated charging time shown below is based on an average depth of discharge 50% to a fully charged battery and is for reference purposes only. Actual data may differ due to battery conditions and temperature.

CHARGING STEPS

  1. DIAGNOSIS Checks the battery’s initial condition including voltage, state-of-charge, and health, to determine if the battery is stable before charging.
  2. DESULPHATION Uses voltage or high-frequency pulses to break down the sulfates that have built up over time in the aging battery to optimize life and performance.
  3. PRE-CHARGE Starts the charging process with a low stable current that gradually increases until the battery capacity returns 25%. This reduces the stress put on batteries by sudden surges.
  4.   SOFT START Provides a medium stable current until the battery capacity returns 50%.
  5. BULK CHARGE Begins the Bulk charging process based on the condition of the battery until the battery capacity returns 80%.
  6. ABSORPTION Brings the charge level to 100% by delivering small amounts of current to provide a safe, efficient charge. This limits battery gas emission and prolongs life.
  7. ANALYSIS Monitors whether the battery voltage falls below its target threshold. If yes, the charger will enter the Recondition mode.
  8. RECONDITION Checks the battery status, and then recovers small currents to improve the capacity.
  9. MAINTENANCE Checks the battery status and brings the charge level back to 100%. Then the ANALYSIS, RECONDITION, and MAINTENANCE will form into a charge cycle to keep the battery at full charge. The battery charger can be safely left connected indefinitely without the risk of overcharging.

FAQ

  • Q: How to select the charging mode?
A: Please select the charging mode according to the battery type and capacity. We recommend that the current value should not be greater than 20% of the battery capacity value. For example, for a 100Ah battery, we recommend that the current is not greater than 20A.

  • Q: Will TORNADO 30000 stop charging automatically after the battery is fully charged?
A: Yes. TORNADO 30000 adopts 9-step smart charging. When the battery is fully charged, it will automatically stop charging without the risk of overcharging. If you still leave the battery connected, the charger will keep monitoring the battery status and will automatically start charging when the battery voltage falls below its target threshold.

  • Q: Can TORNADO 30000 charge multiple batteries simultaneously?
A: Yes. Please correctly connect these batteries in series or parallel before charging. If you have questions about the connection, you can consult the battery manufacturer or contact us for help.

  • Q: Which modes of the charger adopt the 9-step smart charging?
    A: The NORM, COLD mode.

  • Q: Is REAPIR mode applicable to all battery types?
A: No, it can’t be used for lithium batteries. However, it is applicable to all types of lead-acid batteries.

  • Q: Why can’t some batteries be used normally after repair?
A: We recommend only applying the Repair Mode on batteries with SOH above 40%.

  • Q: Why can’t some batteries be charged?
A: Generally, a 12V battery with a voltage lower than 8.5V is damaged and cannot be charged normally.
