Safety Instructions

General safety

WARNING! Electrocution hazard

  • Do not touch exposed cables with your bare hands.
  • Before starting the device, ensure that the power supply line and the plug are dry.
  • Installation and removal of the device may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
  • Do not operate the device if it is visibly damaged.
  • This device may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Improper repairs can result in considerable danger.
  • When positioning the device, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.

WARNING! Health hazard

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced
    physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  • Children shall not play with the appliance.

  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • Food may only be stored in its original packaging or in suitable containers.

  • Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems.

  • Remove the key during transportation.

  • The device contains an air-purifier that can produce small amounts of ozone (O3). Ozone can have negative effects in case of lung disease, asthma, heart disease, respiratory disease, breathing problems, or ozone sensitivity. Consult a physician to determine if it is safe to use the device.

NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • Never immerse the device in water.
  • The device is not suitable for storing substances which are caustic or contain solvents.
  • Keep the drainage outlet clean at all times.
  • Store the device protected from environmental influences.
  • Close and keep the door of the device locked during transportation.
  • Secure the removable shelf and partitions inside the delivery box to prevent them from slide or falling out.
  • Observe the center of gravity of the delivery box during installation and loading.

CAUTION! Electrocution hazard

  • Disconnect the device from the power supply before each cleaning and maintenance.
  • Disconnect the device from the power supply after every use.

WARNING! Fire hazard

  • Switch off the device in the event of any damage to the refrigerant circuit.
  • Avoid naked flames and sparks in the event of any damage to the refrigerant circuit.
  • Air ventilate the room well in the event of any damage to the refrigerant circuit.
  • Keep the ventilation openings on the device housing free of obstructions.
  • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • Do not use electrical devices in the food compartments of the cooler unless they are recommended by the manufacturer for this purpose.
  • Do not place any caustic materials or materials containing solvents in the device

WARNING! Health hazard

  • Children aged from 3 to 8 years allowed to load and unload the appliance.
  • Check if the cooling capacity of the device is suitable for storing the food you wish to cool.
  • Check if the heating capacity of the device is suitable for storing the food you wish to heat.
  • Opening the door for long periods can cause significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the device while the cooling mode is on.
  • Opening the door for a longer period can cause a significant decrease temperature in the compartments of the device while the heating mode is on.
  • Switch off the device if it is left empty for a long period.
  • Defrost the device if it is left empty for a long period.
  • Clean and dry the device if it is left empty for a long period.
  • Leave the door open to prevent mold developing within the device if it is left empty for a long period.

NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • Do not open the refrigerant circuit under any circumstances.
  • Only carry the device upright.
  • Do not place the device near naked flames or other heat sources (heaters, direct sunlight, gas ovens etc.).
  • Check that the voltage specification on the data plate is the same as that of the power supply.

Intended use

The delivery box is designed exclusively for cooling, keeping warm, storing and transporting food. The delivery box is designed for professional use and installation in a car or on a scooter or motorcycle.
This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these instructions.
This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the product. Poor installation and/or improper operating or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:

  • Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
  • Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the manufacturer
  • Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
  • Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
    Dometic reserves the right to change product appearance and product specifications.

Technical description

The DEL90H can keep food warm. The delivery box has a heated and a non temperature controlled compartment.
The DEL90HC can keep food warm and cold. The delivery box has a heated and a cooled compartment.
The shelf of the DEL90H and DEL90HC can be placed at the bottom of the delivery box to use the DEL90 with only one temperature. The delivery box has an air purifier and a USB port for charging small devices like mobile phones.

Installation

NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • The delivery box must be mounted on a rack with a minimum load of 50 kg.
  • Screw the screws only into the holes provided.
  • Ensure that no cables or other materials are pinched or drilled through.

Operation

Familiarize yourself with the device before the product is used for the first time. Check if the scope of delivery is complete.

Saving energy

▷ Do not open the delivery box more often than necessary.
▷ Do not leave the delivery box open for longer than necessary.

DEL90HC only
▷ Do not put hot food in the cold compartment.
▷ Do not put cold food in the warm compartment.

Using the delivery box

NOTICE! Risk of overheating (DEL90HC only)
Ensure that the ventilation slots of the cooler are not covered (see chapter Technical description). Make sure that the device is sufficiently far away from walls and other objects so that the air can circulate.

NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • Adjust the driving speed to the road and weather conditions.
  • Ensure that only those objects are placed in the cooled compartment that are intended to be cooled at the selected temperature.
  • Never use the delivery box without a shelf when a temperature is set.

  7. Press and hold the On/Off button for 3 s to switch the delivery box on.

To optimize the handling of the delivery box, set the properties.
Setting the temperature
Adjust the temperature of the interior of the delivery box.

After setting the temperature the display shows the set temperature. A dot next to the temperature display lights up. After returning to the main interface, the current interior temperature is displayed.

Setting the battery protection (DEL90HC only)

The delivery box is equipped with a multi-level battery protection that protects the vehicle battery against excessive discharging when the delivery box is connected to the 12 V vehicle electrics. The delivery box switches off automatically as soon as the supply voltage falls below a certain level. The delivery box will switch back on once the battery has been recharged to the restart voltage level.

Note The default setting is the battery protection mode “MEDIUM”. When using the battery protection mode “MEDIUM” or “LOW”, the device can be operated via an external power supply with lower voltage. It is recommended to use the battery protection mode “HIGH” or “MEDIUM” to avoid excessive discharge of the battery.

Turn down the display brightness to save energy. Adjust the brightness so that you can easily see the content
on the display.

Select the desired temperature unit.

After setting the temperature unit the display shows the set temperature. Aer returning to the main interface, the current interior temperature is displayed.

Switching on or off the compartments (DEL90HC only)
Each zone of the delivery box can be activated individually or both zones simultaneously.

Replacing the DC fuse

**WARNING! Electrocution hazard**
The DC fuse inside of this delivery box must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent safety hazards

If the delivery box no longer hold the set temperature and the control panel does not work, the fuse is defective.

Cleaning and maintenance

CAUTION! Health hazard

  • Dry the inside of the box between two uses and do not close the door until the inside is dry. Otherwise, harmful germs may spread.
  • Make sure that the delivery box is switched off and completely cooled down before cleaning.

NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • Never clean the delivery box with a high-pressure water jet.
  • Never clean the delivery box under running water or in dish water.
  • Do not use chemical, abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these can damage the delivery box.
  • Always turn the delivery box off when cleaning the vents.
  • Ensure that the air inlet and outlet vents on the delivery box are free of any dust and dirt.

Clean the delivery box before the first use.
Clean the inside of the box regularly according to the applicable food regulations.
Occasionally clean the delivery box outside with a damp cloth.
Vent the delivery box before each use.
Occasionally clean the vents with a dry cloth.
DEL90HC only: Periodically remove the condensation water that is in the water tank of the cooling system.

Cleaning and maintenance

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible cause Suggested remedy
The device does not function (DC mode, ignition on). No voltage was detected
in the DC power outlet. In most vehicles the ignition must be turned on

before power will be supplied to the DC power outlet.
The DC outlet is dirty. This results in a poor electrical contact.| If the plug of the device becomes very warm in the DC out-let, either the DC outlet must be cleaned or the plug has not been assembled correctly.
The fuse of the DC plug has blown.| The fuse in the DC plug fuse may only be replaced by qualified personnel. Contact the manufacture’s support documents.dometic.com/contact.

Disposal

NOTICE! Damage hazard
The insulation of the cooling device contains flammable cyclopentane and requires special disposal procedures. Deliver the cooling device at the end of its life-cycle to an appropriate recycling center.

Recycling products with batteries, rechargeable batteries and light sources: Remove any batteries, rechargeable batteries, and light sources before recycling the product. Return defective or used batteries to your retailer or dispose of them at collection points. Do not dispose of any batteries, rechargeable batteries, and light sources with general household waste. If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations. The product can be disposed free of charge.

Recycling packaging material: Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible

The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer’s branch in your country (see dometic.com/dealer) or your retailer.
For repair and warranty processing, please include the following documents when you send in the device:

  • A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
  • A reason for the claim or description of the fault

Technical data

DEL90HC only:
The refrigeration circuit contains a small quantity of an environmentally friendly but flammable refrigerant. It does not damage the ozone layer and does not increase the greenhouse effect. Any leaking refrigerant may ignite.

The DEL90HC uses R1234yf or R134a as refrigerant. Information about the refrigerant can be found on the data plate.
