GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The EP3008 is an expansion module with 8 points (PrIO) that can be individually programmed as input or output. The module is connected to the control panel via BUS

ASSEMBLY

The expansion module can be mounted inside the control panel or in CP/EXP wall boxes, with the tamper switch connected to the TAMPER input, or CP-EP500.
It can be installed inside distribution boxes or similar containers, adequately protected by tamper-proof devices.
IMPORTANT: The only installation methods that comply with EN50131 are those that require the presence of the tamper protection.
Position the expansion module in a low-traffic, indoor location, not subject to excessive temperature fluctuations and protected by the intrusion alarm system and away from strong electromagnetic fields.

BUS CONNECTION

The expansion module can be connected on the bus in cascade, in either star or mixed mode. The position along the bus is irrelevant. The total length of the bus must not exceed 500 meters (cable cross-section area 2×0.75 mm² power + 2×0.22 mm² data). Connect the expansion module to the bus, using terminals +, A, B and ─.
When calculating the overall system consumption, take the maximum consumption of the expansion module and also of the devices connected to it into account.
INPUT/OUTPUT CONNECTION (PrIO)
Connect the detectors to PrIO P1…P8 programmed as input. They can be individually programmed as NC, NO, Balanced, Double Balanced, Triple Balanced and Tandem. Management of fast signals from seismic sensors or shutters.
IMPORTANT: “Double balanced” and “triple balanced” connection modes are the only ones compliant with EN50131. The specialization (intrusion, tampering, robbery, panic, technical etc.) is specified by programming.
Connect output devices (e.g. indicators) to PrIO P1…P8 programmed as output. Electrical outputs are negative. The stand-by state of each output is programmable as Positive present or No positive.
IMPORTANT: Never exceed the current or voltage values supported by the outputs (see technical specifications of the devices to be connected).
EXPANSION MODULE ACQUISITION
Acquisition is carried out either automatically using the peripheral device search function of the control panel or in manual mode. See the MP3000 control panel programming manual for more details..
