- You can also set the price limits for ecoPlug. If the actual hourly price is cheaper than the lower limit price, the hour will always be used (factory setting 0.05€). If the actual hourly price is higher than the upper price limit, the hour will not be activated (factory setting 0.40€). Thus, there can be more or less active hours than selected by the parameter “Usage in a day”.

CONTROLLING THERMOSTATS WITH ecoPlug
- ecoPlugcan control thermostats wirelessly to take advantage of the cheaper spot price hours. In order to achieve this, the thermostats must have the Receive wireless eco-controls function enabled.
- The ecologic code must be copied to the network keys of the thermostats, see picture on left. Read the code preferably with the camera function on the phone –instructions are on the last page.
- Remember to save your changes.
- After pairing the thermostat(s) with the ecologist is good to test the connection. Push the ecoPlugbutton to enter manual high-cost hour. Thermostats should follow after a while. Next push will change to manual low-cost hours and thermostats will follow. The thermostat LEDs will show the same colour as on ecoPlug. On display thermostat, the mode has to be checked from its menu or easier with phone app.
- Note that it can take a few minutes for the wireless control to propagate to the thermostats.
When ecoPlug controls thermostats, they use the Externally activated eco temperature as the setpoint during the low cost hours. To get the best benefit in heating costs, do the following:
- Set the externally activated eco temperature to higher value than normal setpoint would be
- The biggest savings are achieved with heating elements capable of storing heat (e.g. underfloor heating in a concrete floor). During cheap hours, heat is stored in the floor which then releases it during expensive hours.
- During the expensive hours, the temperature setpoint of the thermostats is set by the knob. In case of display products, the comfort temperature (com) setpoint is used. High cost electricity is only used when the temperature falls below this setpoint. Keep it lower than it would normally be, but according to your own preferences, of course.
QR CODE
Codes can be entered into the network key fields either by typing them on the app’s keyboard or by reading them from a QR code using the phone’s camera function. To avoid typing errors, it is advisable to use the QR code whenever possible. See below for instructions. Finally, remember to save your settings .
