Description:
The JS500 Jump Starter 12V is a portable device designed to start vehicles with a 12V battery. It features a protected 12V output with a 20A fuse, a pivoting lamp, a charging port, a USB port, a battery status button, and a charging LED indicator.

Product Usage Instructions

Important Safety Instructions:

  1. Read and understand all safety information provided in the user manual before using the product.
  2. Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in electrical shock, explosion, fire, serious injury, death, or property damage.
  3. The product is an electrical device that can cause electrical shock and serious injury. Do not cut power cords or submerge it in water.

General Instructions:

  1. Always use the product with 12V batteries that are compatible and undamaged.
  2. Use the product in well-ventilated areas.
  3. Do not attempt to recharge damaged or frozen batteries.

Battery Status:
To check the battery charge level of the Jump Starter, press the battery status button on the right side. After checking, press the button again to turn it off. The battery charge level should be checked at least half an hour after disconnecting the charging cable.

Charging Methods

  1. AC/DC 230/12V Charging: Charge the Jump Starter using an AC/DC power source in well-ventilated areas and away from easily flammable materials.
  2. DC/DC 12V Charging: Charge the Jump Starter using the DC/DC charging cable.

Vehicle Starting Instructions:
Before using the Jump Starter, turn off the ignition.

  1. Connect the red clamp (+) to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle’s battery.

  2. Connect the black clamp (-) to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle’s battery.

    • CAUTION : INCORRECT CONNECTION CAN GENERATE HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE HYDROGEN GAS!
  3. Start the vehicle for a maximum of 6 seconds, then wait for 3 minutes before another attempt.

  4. After starting, disconnect the black clamp (-) first, then disconnect the red clamp (+).

  5. Properly position and store the cables and clamps on their designated supports.

  6. After each use, immediately recharges the Jump Starter.

Additional Instructions:
To perform a jump start, follow the vehicle starting instructions provided above. Store the Jump Starter safely and securely. Pay attention to the following:

  1. This product is not suitable for children.
  2. If the power cords are damaged, they must be replaced by our authorized service center with original materials.
  3. The power cord must comply with the electrical standards of the country where the device is used.
  4. Properly dispose of the battery according to national standards. Disconnect the Jump Starter from the power source before removing the battery.

  • Electrical Shock
    The product is an electrical device that can shock and cause serious injury. Do not cut power cords. Do not submerge in water or get wet.

    Unmonitored, incompatible, or damaged batteries can explode if used with the product. Do not leave the product unattended while in use. Do not attempt to jump-start a damaged or frozen battery. Only use the product with batteries that have a voltage of 12 volts. Operate products in well-ventilated areas.

  • Fire
    The product is an electrical device that emits heat and is capable of causing burns. Do not cover the product. Do not smoke or use any source of electrical spark or fire when operating the product. Keep product away from combustible materials.

  • Eye Injury
    Wear eye protection when operating the product. Batteries can explode and cause flying debris. Battery acid can cause eye and skin irritation. In the case of contamination
    of eyes or skin, flush the affected area with running clean water, and contact poison control immediately.

  • Explosive Gases
    Working in the vicinity of a lead-acid is dangerous. Batteries also generate explosive gases during normal battery operation. To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow all safety information instructions and those published by the battery manufacturer and manufacturer of any equipment intended to be used in the vicinity of the battery. Review cautionary markings on these products and the engine.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Caution
Read the user manual carefully before first use!

  • Failure to comply with the instructions can lead to damage or an explosion.
  • Always use the Booster in well-ventilated areas, and wear eye protection and gloves.
  • Always use the Booster in a nonconductive and nonpolluting atmosphere.
  • Never charge or jump-start a vehicle with a frozen battery.
  • This equipment may not be used by children or by those who can not read and understand the manual. Store, use, and charge the Booster out of the reach of children and unauthorized persons.
  • Before use, recharge your Jumpstarter for 24 hours immediately after receipt. However, recharge thoroughly at least every 3 months if not in use.

General information

Description

Lamp
The Booster is provided with a pivoting lamp. To light it, push simply on the left push-button. For security reasons, the lamp will stop lighting from the moment you release the push button.

USB port
The USB port can be used as output power or recharge devices like cell phones and other electronic devices, The values are DC 5V 500mA. The USB port will work if the battery level button is in the ON position.

The charge level of the battery
Press the right push-button to show the charge level of the battery of the Booster and then press again to OFF position after checking. Half an hour after disconnecting the recharge cable from the Booster, the charge level must be in the green area.

If the recharge state is:

  1. Green : Your booster is charged.
  2. Yellow : you must recharge your Booster.
  3. Red : you must urgently recharge your Booster.

Recharge the Booster using the AC/DC 230/12V charger

  • NEVER wait until the Booster is completely discharged before recharging. An electronic full automatic charger AC/DC 230/12V is integrated into the Booster.
  • Connect the recharge cable to the sector AC 230V, then connect the recharge cable to the Booster via the recharge plug on the back side of the Booster. The recharge LED will light up.

Please note the recharge LED will light up in red if the battery is low and the LED will become green once the battery is charged. You can also leave the charger connected for long periods after charging is complete. In any case, charge the Jumpstarter for 24 hours at least once every three months.

Recharging the jumpstarter via the DC/DC 12V cable
The jumpstarter can also be recharged from the car’s 12V cigarette lighter socket using the supplied cable.

****The booster must always be recharged in well-ventilated places and away from easily inflammable materials.

To start a vehicle

CAUTION : THE STARTER MUST ONLY BE USED ON VEHICLES WITH A 12VOLT ELECTRIC SYSTEM. ANY OTHER USE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS

Turn OFF the ignition before using the Booster.

  1. Connection
    Connect the red clamp (+) to the positive terminal (+) of the battery, then connect the black clamp (-) to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.

    • WARNING , THE INCORRECT CONNECTION WILL GENERATE HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE HYDROGEN GAS!
  2. Start the engine
    Turn the ignition key for a maximum of 6 seconds, and wait for a further 3 minutes before attempting to start again.

  3. Disconnection
    Having started the engine, disconnect the black (-) clamp first, followed by the red (+) clamp.

  4. Storing
    Return the cables and clamps to their support posts.

  5. Recharging
    Recharge the Booster immediately after use!

Starting attempt
When using the Booster to start an engine, do not crank for more than 6 seconds, and wait for a further 3 minutes before a second attempt. If after the third attempt, the engine does not start, it may be necessary to identify a further cause for the breakdown.

Note : if your Booster is fully charged but the starter turns slowly, the vehicle’s or Booster’s battery may need checking for short circuits.

Storage

  • The Booster can be stored in any position, without any danger to the battery, because it is a dry battery, made of lead.
  • When not using the Booster for long periods, recharge the unit every three months for 24 hours.
  • Do not store your Booster below 0°C if you want to use it urgently. Too cold, the Booster will lack performance. The ideal operating temperature is between 10 to 25°C.
  • Clamps must be stored on their support posts, ensuring they do not come into contact with any metallic surface.

Warning!

  1. The appliance is not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction.
  2. Children are being supervised not to play with the appliance.
  3. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
  4. The connection to the supply mains is to be by the national wiring rules.
  5. The battery must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped.
  6. The appliance must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery.
  7. The battery is to be disposed of safely. The battery inside is 12V. It is rechargeable. During charging, the battery must be placed in a well-ventilated area.
  8. During storage, make sure that the positive clamp is not in contact with the negative clamp.
  9. When removing the battery, make sure no metallic instrument or metallic material connects the battery’s negative and positive polarity, to avoid an explosion!

Warranty
The product is guaranteed two years against all defects in material and workmanship, except the battery which is not guaranteed. Boosters with any signs of abuse, misuse, or modification, will not be repaired under warranty. Freight costs (for the Booster and the recharge cable) are always on charge of the customer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT BY EC DIRECTIVE 2002/96/EC. At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection center or a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.
