Use the Star Dome from your GeoSafari® Motorized Solar System to find these constellations!
CASSIOPEIA C
assiopeia can look like the letter M or W depending on where you are in the
world.
ORION
Orion was named after a famous hunter from Greek mythology because it looks
like a hunter with a sword and shield.
CYGNUS
Cygnus means Swan in Latin. Can you see a swan flying in the stars?
URSA MAJOR
This is the largest constellation in the Northern hemisphere and its name
means “great bear” in Latin.
GEMINI
This constellation was named for the Latin word for twins because it looks
like two brothers playing.
PISCES
Pisces represents two fish and is one of the hardest constellations to find
because its stars are relatively dim.
LEO
Leo is the Latin word for lion. Regulus, this constellation’s brightest
star, is 350 times brighter than the sun!
HERCULES
Hercules is the fifth largest constellation. It was named after one of the
most famous Greek mythological heroes.
