BROILMASTER PREMIUM GRILLS DPP157 Collector Box Relocation
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Remove cooking grids.
- Remove any smoker shutters, briquettes, plaques, and briquette racks from the grill.
- Disconnect both wires from the electronic ignitor (battery powered ignitor mounted to the control panel).
- Remove the burner. Set burner upside down on a work surface.
- Remove the two screws which mount the burner bracket and collector box to the burner. See Figure 2. Discard the collector box and reinstall the two screws and burner bracket.
- Remove the two hex nuts located inside the grill which hold the control panel shield and control panel to the front of the grill. See Figure 3. A new blank rating plateis supplied with this kit, with a permanent marker, write in the information off of your old rating plate and place on your new control panel shield, then you may discard the old control panel shield. Position control panel below the front of the grill to allow room to drill the new collector box hole.
- Align the drilling template mounting holes with the two control panel mounting holes on the front of the grill, 2 sets of holes are on the template you will use the ones that match your version of grill you have. Use the number 3 holes for P3 or H3 and 3X for P3X or H3X grills. Use the number 4 holes for P4 or H4 and 4X for P4X or H4X grills. The template is correctly aligned when the numbers (3 or 4) are right side up and below the mounting holes. Attach the drilling template to the front of the grill using the two 1/4-20 screws and hex nuts supplied. Once the template is correctly mounted, the template hole for drilling the pilot hole will have the number 3 or 4 right side up. Use a 1/8″ bit to drill a pilot hole through the front of the casting
- Remove the template. With the 1/8″ pilot hole as a guide, use a 7/16″ drill bit to increase the hole diameterto the correct size for mounting the new collector box. See Figure 6. Clean out any drilling chips from inside the casting with a vacuum.
- The following directions are from the current installation manual. Use them to complete the installation and connection of the new collector box.

ATTACH IGNITOR WIRE, INSERT CONTROL PANEL
Connect the ground wire to
the ground lug and run both ground and electrode wires through hole in Control
Panel Shield.
