instructions for use
IMPORTANT WARNINGS!
These instructions can also be found at www.tommeetippee.com Keep this instruction sheet for future reference as it includes important information.
- Flask can contain boiling water – a potential scalding hazard. Ensure lids are securely fastened. Open with care. Always use on a flat surface.
- Adult use only.
- Please keep out of reach of children.
- Inspect before use. Throw away at first signs of damage or weakness.
- Do not use to store or carry carbonated drinks.
- Always check food temperature before serving and feeding.
- When making up a feed, follow the formula manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not use in a microwave oven.
- Do not use with any other liquid than water in the preparation of a formula feed.
- In order to minimise bacterial growth do not use to keep warm milk products. Use only as directed in HOW TO USE section.
- Using the cooling flask shortly after heating in any way may cause excessive external temperatures and risk of burns. Always allow the cooling flask to reset before use and handling. Handle freshly boiled water carefully. Handle the cooling flask carefully as the base will heat up when in use. Use the cooling flask in a safe environment, away from baby. Leave the cooling flask to cool after steam sterilisation.
STORAGE
- Do not store in direct sunlight or near a source of heat.
- Do not store with or allow to come into contact with solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Keep all components not in use out of reach of children.
- Do not leave in direct sunlight or heat, or leave in disinfectant (sterilising solution) for longer than recommended as this may weaken the product.
DO
- DO: use, sterilise and reset. Reset time for the cooling flask is 3 – 4 hours (depending on sterilising and cleaning type). The cooling flask works by absorbing heat from hot liquids. After being exposed to heat, it will require some time to cool before being ready to use again.
- DO: tilt the cooling flask to check the temperature, remember the star will go blue when the feed is ready (minimum cooling time of 2 minutes)
DON’T
- DON’T: dispense the feed before 2 minutes
- Don’t: store a made-up feed in the flask.
- DON’T: panic if you hear a crackling sound when making your feed. This is the cooling flask in action
HOW TO USE
- Clean and disinfect the surface you are going to use. It is important that you wash your hands.
- Fill the kettle with fresh tap water (do not use water that has been boiled before). Boil the water.
- Take care when handling freshly boiled water.
Using the hot flask and cooling flask
- 4a. Fill the hot flask with boiling water, and take out of the home with you.
- 4b. Measure out theformula as per manufacturer instructions and store in the milk powder dispenser until you are ready to use.
- 4c. When you are ready to feed, attach the digitallid to the hot flask and tilt the flask sideways for a minimum of 5 seconds to ensure thewater is still hot enough and safe to make a feed. The star on the digital lid should turn red.
- 4d. You can now pour the water from the hot flask into the cooling flask using the graduation marks on the inside of the flask for correct measurements
Using the cooling flask
- 4a. Add the boiled water to the cooling flask, using the graduation marks on the inside of the flask.
- Add the correct amount of formula powder, as per manufacturers guidelines, in line with the amount of water in the flask.
- Screw the digital lid onto the cooling flask, ensuring it is assembled correctly, and shake well to mix the powder with the hot water, ensuring its fully dissolved. Shaking the cooling flask starts the cooling process.
- The time it takes for the feed to cool depends on the feed size, refer to the table below. To check if a feed is ready to dispense into a baby bottle, tilt the cooling flask sideways for a minimum of 5 seconds so the milk touches the digital lid. The lid will show a blue star when the feed is ready. Don’t dispense the feed before 2 minutes
- Decant your feed into a clean, sterile bottle. And follow bottle feeding instructions.
- Always check the temperature before feeding your baby. Once a feed is made, use straight away.
DIGITAL LID
The integrated thermometer in the digital lid will activate the digital screen when it contacts water or milk. The same lid can be used to take the temperature of milk or water when used on either the cooling flask or the hot flask. It will tell you when a feed is ready for baby, but also when water is still hot enough to start making a feed. Activate the digital screen by tapping the screen.
When testing the temperature of milk (on the cooling flask)
Blue Star | Amber Star | Red Star |
---|---|---|
Feed is ready | Feed is too hot, please wait | Feed is too hot, please wait |
When testing the temperature of water to make up a feed (on the hot flask)
Blue Star | Amber Star | Red Star |
---|---|---|
Water is too cold to make a feed | Water is too cold to make a feed | Water is |
hot enough to make a feed, add your formula now
Under most circumstances the digital lid will not show a red star when attached to the cooling flask. This is because the cooling flask will start cooling the feed immediately and brings the feed temperature below the range that would show a red star. That is why we recommend you test the temperature of your water before making a feed by placing the digital lid on the hot flask to ensure the water is safe to make a feed.

The cooling flask works by absorbing heat from hot liquids. After being exposed to heat, it will require a minimum of 3 hours before being ready to use again.
STERILISATION & CLEANING
The flask can be cleaned in warm soapy water or a dishwasher, the flask can
also be sterilised (see table below). The lid can be washed in warm soapy
water, take care to remove the silicone seal and use the small brush provided
to clean behind the seal of any excess milk.
Descaling (flask only)
To avoid the build-up of limescale the container should be periodically
cleaned. The best results are obtained using a mixture of water and
bicarbonate of soda or washing up liquid. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.
