DAVINCI-II Plug Kit

This note is about the Plug Kit (plug & play wiring) which allows direct connection of your DaVinci-II without any modification to the original harness of the bike.

INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the original dashboard.

  2. Position DaVinci-II by drilling the three holes for the silent blocks on the original instrument frame of the bike, as per the DaVinci-II manual.
Attention! As indicated in the manual, always mount the device totally on rubber, using the silent block elastic supports supplied, or it will be severely damaged by vibrations requiring out-of-warranty repairs.

  3. Connect the DaVinci-II Plug Kit to the corresponding dashboard connector on the motorcycle harness.

  4. Connect DaVinci-II to the connector of your Plug Kit.

  5. Check that the Vehicle model selected in the Options> Vehicle Model menu is that of the family corresponding to your Plug Kit, if not, select the correct one.

BRANCHES and SETTINGS

  • The cable labeled “USB” will be necessary for connection to the PC, it is therefore recommended to place the connector on the instrument frame, in an accessible area of the front fairing, in order to connect the counterpart every time it is necessary to connect to the PC.

  • The cable with the “CAN” label must not be connected to the vehicle, as it is used to connect possible optional Starlane modules such as, for example, the RID LAMBDA carburetion module (code RID1LRT).

  • The YELLOW wire that branches free from the Plug Kit must be connected only if you also want to detect the TPS signal (throttle position sensor), connect the wire (with the supplied extension) by soldering it to the TPS signal wire of your motorcycle.
If, on the Plug Kit in your possession, no yellow wire is available at the output, it means that on your motorcycle the TPS signal is available directly from the data line that already reaches the dashboard in the main connector.

  • The GREEN wire that branches free from the Plug Kit is available only on some Plug Kit models for Honda and Yamaha and must be connected to the speed sensor signal of the motorcycle only in the following cases:

    • Honda CBR600/1000: only if the original motorcycle harness has been replaced with the HRC one, in this case the GREEN wire of the Plug Kit must be connected to the PINK-GREEN wire that enters the gray ECU connector.
    • Yamaha R6 up to 2016 and R1 up to 2014: or only if they have YEC wiring, in this case the GREEN wire of the Plug Kit must be connected to the WHITE-YELLOW wire that enters the 3-way connector of the speed sensor located above the gearbox.
Attention: On these Yamaha, DaVinci-II is preset to detect the speed signal from the data line (K-Line) of the control unit, if your control unit has maintained the programming by sending the speed on the data line it will not be necessary to connect the GREEN wire to the sensor.
So, if in the menu Channels> Channel Monitor> ECU Monitor, you see the speed increase when the rear wheel is rotating, it means that the signal arrives correctly from the K-Line data line and you can then learn the gears without connecting the GREEN wire.
In case your ECU does not send the speed on the K-line and you have had to connect the GREEN wire to the speed signal, you will have to set the Speed Source to “Speed1” in the menu Channels> RPM, Speed and Gear.

➢ On MV Agusta F3/F4, keep pressed the TC+ button on the handlebar for 3 seconds to open the MV menu and set the strategies.
➢ On Suzuki GSXR-1000 L7 and following, keep pressed the TC- button on the handlebar for 3 seconds to set the quick shifter.

ONLY FOR R VERSION OF PLUG KITS

The Plug Kits for the R version of DaVinci-II are equipped with the following additional connectors compared to those of the S version:

  • 4 Analog Inputs (AN01-AN02-AN03-AN04) at high frequency (up to 500Hz) to be used for analog sensors such as, for example, suspension or brake pressure sensors. If the TPS signal is not available on the data line of the bike relating to your Plug Kit, an adapter with YELLOW wire (code TAP2500) is included in the package, which can be connected to AN01 to detect the TPS signal (throttle position sensor) from the bike sensor.

  • 2 Digital Inputs (SPEED 1 – SPEED 2), for optional inductive speed sensors or for connection to the original speed sensor with TAP2500 adapter.
N.B .: Some Plug Kits only show one of these digital inputs as the second is already wired inside the main connector of the wiring.

  • 1 “CAN2” connector for any connection to the CAN BUS line of the motorcycle ECU. Also in this case, this connector is not available if the Plug Kit is related to a motorcycle in which the CAN BUS line is already present inside the main connector of the wiring.
