PRODUCT FEATURES

  1. Wi-Fi Status LED— If flashing the unit is in setup mode. If solid the surge protector is connected to Wi-Fi.
  2.  PROTECTED LED—If illuminated, the unit is working properly. If not illuminated your connected equipment is not being protected. Contact ELAC Customer Support.
  3.  Breaker Reset Button—The button should be in the down position from the factory. In the event that more than 15 Amps the button will pop-up and will need to be pushed down in order to properly operate again.
  4.  Controlled AC Outlets—The outlets are controlled by the Power Button as well as from the ELAC Protek phone Application. PlugEquipment directly into these outlets. Do not use an extension cord, UPS, or power strip.
  5.  Always On AC Outlets—These AC Outlets always supply AC power.
  6.  Power / Reset Switch—A short press will turn on and off the controlled outlets. If pressed for more than 3 seconds the unit will enter setup mode.

USING YOUR SURGE PROTECTOR

  1. Ensure the power is off on the devices you will be connecting to the AC outlets on the surge protector.

  2. Plug the surge protector into a properly grounded AC wall outlet and turn on the surge protector.

  3. Check that the PROTECTED blue LED are illuminated. If the PROTECTED LED is not illuminated, the surge protector is not
    operating properly and will not protect your connected devices. Plug your equipment into the outlets on the surge protector
    and power on your devices as usual.

  4.  Plug your equipment into the outlets on the surge protector and power on your devices as usual.

CONNECTING THE PB62-W TO YOUR HOME WI-FI NETWORK

  1. Download and open the ELAC Protek App from either the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store.
  2. In the App create an ELAC Protek account.
  3. On the Home Screen Click on “Add Device” .
  4.  On the next screen choose Auto Scan (Top Right) (Note: 2.4 Ghz Network required).
  5. Press and Hold the Power Button on the PB62-W until the Wi-Fi Status light begins flashing.
  6. The Device will appear in the Available Devices Found screen.
  7. Click Next and Enter your Wi-Fi Network name and Password.
  8. The Device should now connect to your home network and be controllable. This process can take up to one minute.

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK – Use only in dry locations and only indoors.
  •  DO NOT plug into another relocatable power tap.
  •  DO NOT “daisy chain” surge protectors.
  • DO NOT plug into 220V outlet or power source.
  •  DO NOT use with any aquarium equipment.
  •  DO NOT connect to an ungrounded outlet.
  • DO NOT install this device if there is not at least 30 feet (10 meters), or more of wire between the electrical outlet and electrical service panel.
  • This device features internal protection that will disconnect the surge protective component at the end of its useful life (PROTECTED LED WILL TURN OFF) , but will maintain power to the outlets – WHICH WILL BE UNPROTECTED. If you don’t want your equipment at risk, the surge protector will need to be replaced.
  • DO NOT use in any circumstance that would affect the operation or reliability of life support equipment, any medical applications, or patient care.

CAUTIONS!
This surge protector is designed to protect your electronic equipment from AC power surges up to its rated specifications only. If an electrical surge above the rated specifications of this surge protector enter this device, connected devices may not be protected. Please understand that electrical surges can enter electronics devices through any interconnected conductive connections. These interconnections can include coax lines, phone lines, ethernet lines, AV connections and any other conductive material.

FCC and IEC Statement

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  1. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the grantee of this device could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
  2.  This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm between the radiator & your body.

This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.
This equipment complies with IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm between the radiator and your body.

WARRANTY

ELAC Americas Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that this product be free from defects and or workmanship for 3-Years from the original date of purchase. During this time period, repair or replacement will be free of charge to the original owner (See below limitations). Shipping to and return from the repair center will be the responsibility of the original purchaser.

Limitations
  • Warranty begins on the date of original purchase from an authorized ELAC Americas Inc. dealer. Products purchased from an unauthorized reseller will not be honored.
  • Product is warranted only if used in home applications within the rated specifications of this product. Commercial use of this product is not warranted.
  • Product that has been modified or altered in anyway will not be warranted.
  •  Product that has been abused or subjected to faulty equipment will not be warranted.
  • Products with defaced or removed serial numbers will not be warranted.

If service is required
In the event that service is required, please contact ELAC America at 714-252-8843 or at customerservice@elac.us to request a return authorization and to arrange for service or replacement. Whether the product will be serviced or replaced is at ELAC’s discretion. You will be responsible to provide proof of purchase (Copy or original sales receipt). Shipping to and from our repair center will be the responsibility of the original purchaser.

Connected Products Guarantee for Protek Surge Suppressors
In addition to the applicable Limited Warranty, ELAC Americas Inc. (“ELAC”) provides this Connected Products Guarantee in the event that damage is caused to equipment while it is plugged into the covered Protek Surge Suppressor (“Suppressor”), and the damage is determined to have been caused by a Suppressor defect in materials or workmanship.
You are agreeing to all of the terms and conditions of this Guarantee when you purchase a Suppressor, and if you do not agree to these terms and conditions you should return the Suppressor for a refund.
Conditions to Guarantee

  • This Guarantee is only available to Suppressor customers in the United States.
  • All Claims must be made within fifteen (15) days after the date of the incident when the damage was caused, even if the damage was discovered at a later date.
  • Suppressor’s serial number must not have been removed or defaced.
  •  Suppressor must not have been modified or altered, or been subject to abuse or faulty equipment.
  • Customer’s use of Suppressor must have been in compliance with all instructions, conditions, and warnings provided or published by ELAC, including without limitation the Suppressor user manual.
  • Suppressor must have been undamaged and in its original condition at the time of the incident when the damage was caused.
  •  Suppressor must be determined by ELAC to be defective in materials or workmanship, and the damage to connected products must have been proximately caused by the defect(s).
  • Damage to connected products must have been caused while plugged into a Suppressor, when there was a spike or surge on a connected properly-installed 120V AC power line.
  •  Damage to connected products that is caused by an AC power surge above rated specifications for the Suppressor is not covered.
  • The Suppressor must have been directly (e.g. not through a plug or extension cord) plugged into a properly-wired and grounded outlet at the time of the incident, and all connected products must have been directly plugged into such Suppressor (e.g. not through a plug, extension cord, or daisy-chain of suppressors) .
  • The environmental conditions for use of the Suppressor and connected products must be suitable for normal use and operation.
  • This Guarantee only covers connected products for personal, home applications and not commercial use.
  •  Damage to Suppressor and/or connected products that is caused by environmental conditions such as flood, fire, rain, extreme temperatures, or pests will not be covered.
  •  Suppressor must not have been repaired by a non-authorized repair facility prior to the incident when damage was caused.

Claim Limitations

  • This Guarantee does not cover, and ELAC will not be responsible for, liability or damages related to personal injury or death.
  •  This Guarantee does not cover, and ELAC will not be responsible for, liability or damage to software, data, or electronic records.
  • This Guarantee does not cover, and ELAC will not be responsible for, lost profits or business interruption.

How to Make a Claim
Contact ELAC at 714-252-8843 or at customerservice@elac.us to make a claim under this Guarantee (“Claim”).
Customer is required to provide ELAC with reasonably requested information or items necessary to validate the Claim. Please have the following information ready when you contact ELAC:

  •  Proof of purchase of Suppressor (Copy or original sales receipt).
  •  Model number of the Suppressor.
  •  Manufacturer and Model number(s) of damaged equipment.
  • Specifics regarding the date, time, location, power supplier, and other conditions relating to the incident when the equipment was damaged.
  • Any other guarantees, insurance policies, or sources of reimbursement available to customer.
  • Estimate of loss or damage to connected products.

Customer will be required to return the Suppressor for inspection before a Claim is approved, and may be required to return connected products and/or make the incident site available for inspection. Shipping costs shall be borne by Customer and will be in accordance with ELAC’s instructions.
Valuation of Claim

  • ELAC’s entire liability, and Customer’s sole recovery, under this Guarantee, shall be limited to the recovery as set forth in this Valuation of Claim section.
  •  If the Customer’s Claim is accepted, at ELAC’s discretion, ELAC will either (a) repair, (b) replace, or (c) reimburse Customer for the Value of connected products in accordance with the following formula. Once ELAC has satisfied the Claim, at ELAC’s request, Customer agrees to transfer all connected products to ELAC.
  • The value of the Claim for connected products (“Value”) shall be calculated as follows:
    • The lower of (i) the Maximum Claim Value amount set forth in Exhibit A (for the particular model Suppressor); (ii) the lowest price that the same or similar items can be purchased new in the United States; (iii) the average price that the same or similar items can be purchased used in the United States; or (iii) the price of the item in the Orion Blue Book (or a similar used price list selected at ELAC’s discretion); where such amount determined by (i) – (iii) shall be decreased by all amounts Customer has or is entitled to receive from other sources of coverage, such as insurance or extended warranties.
  • This Guarantee is not “first dollar” coverage, and therefore ELAC’s responsibility and liability is reduced by amounts Customer is entitled to recover from other sources.

Disclaimers
OTHER THAN THIS GUARANTEE AND THE APPLICABLE LIMITED WARRANTY, ELAC MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, AND HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT ARE IMPOSED BY LAW ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so this disclaimer may not apply to you.
IN NO EVENT WILL ELAC, NOR ITS PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, OR AFFILIATES OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO CUSTOMER OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, LOST PROFIT, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, WHETHER FOR CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ELAC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Binding Arbitration
Customer and ELAC acknowledge and agree that any claim, dispute or controversy arising out of or relating to this Guarantee or the applicable Limited Warranty shall be resolved EXCLUSIVELY and FINALLY by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association’s Consumer Arbitration Rules.
The application of the United Nations Convention of Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded.
