ENTRY INTO OPERATION
Parent unit
Insert 3× AAA batteries (included in the packaging) into the parent unit. Hold
the On button for 3 seconds to turn the unit on. Once the batteries are
discharged, connect the charging micro USB cable and recharge them. If needed,
you can connect the parent unit to a power socket.
The unit can also be charged using classical batteries as another backup
source of energy – in this case, it is forbidden to recharge the unit.
Baby unit
Place the baby unit near the baby and connect it to the power supply. Hold for
On button for 3 seconds to turn it on. The unit must be permanently connected
to a power supply via its adapter in order to guarantee its full operation.
The baby unit also offers the option of adding non-rechargeable (alkaline)
batteries as a secondary power source if the situation so requires.
CHARGING
Use only the batteries, charging cables and adapters included.
Parent unit
The charging indicator is signalized by a flashing blue diode above the screen
and also a flashing battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen –
allowing you to see the current charge (represented as bars).
Full charge is indicated by the battery icon no longer flashing and being full
of bars.
The blue died above the screen will also stop flashing.
Baby unit
The unit must be permanently connected to a power supply via its adapter in order to guarantee its full operation. The unit is not rechargeable.
USAGE AND FUNCTIONS
Range
As the distance between the baby and parent units grows, the signal may be
interrupted leading to gradual loss of sound. The parent unit will indicate
loss of connection due to the distance being too large or a problem on the
side of the baby unit by a flashing signal icon in the upper left corner of
the screen; the unit will also make beeping sounds in 2-3 s intervals.
The units have been tested to work up to distances of up to 50 m in a building
and up to 500 m in an open space.
Pairing
The parent and baby unit should be paired to each other already from
production.
If this is not the case or if you need to connect a new unit to an older one,
proceed as follows:
a) Turn the parent unit on by holding the On button for about 3 seconds.
Afterwards, hold the On button once again together with the volume up button
for another about 3 seconds. The correct activation of the pairing mode is
indicated by a flashing blue diode.
b) Turn the baby unit on by holding the On button for about 3 seconds.
Afterwards, hold the On button once again together with the volume up button
for another about 3 seconds. Correct pairing is indicated by a long beep on
both units.
VOX mode
VOX mode is activated automatically as soon as the parent unit is switched on.
This function can be turned on/off by pressing the On/Off button together with
the Push to talk button.
When this mode is active and the baby’s sound level is below the sensitivity
level preset for the baby unit for some time, then the parent unit will switch
to standby mode in order to save battery power. The baby will remain
monitored, and the parent unit will be reactivated as soon as the volume level
is raised above the minimum sensitivity that can be captured by the baby unit.
This mode is ideal for monitoring your baby at night: crying or any other
sounds will immediately activate both units and notify you of the given
situation. The VOX function turns off automatically when charging.
Lullabies
The baby monitor has a total of 6 built-in lullabies.
Baby lamp
Pressing the lightbulb button will activate a light on the baby unit. Pressing the same button will then turn the lamp off.
Push to talk
The parent unit includes Push to talk functionality. This means that your voice is only transmitted if you hold the Push to talk button on the left side of the unit.
Thermometer
The thermometer measures the temperature in the room it is located in. The temperature is displayed degrees Celsius at the center of the screen of the parent unit. The temperature is only displayed if both units are connected.
Powering audio baby monitor via a power bank
A True-life audio baby monitor is primarily intended for home use and to be powered from the mains. Do not use VOX power saving mode when using a power bank. In this mode, the electrical consumption of the baby unit is so low that some power banks might think the device is charged and turn off automatically. This will interrupt transmission.
