PROFLO PFB14 Series Alcove Bathtub with Left-Hand Drain

WARNING

CAUTION:

  • Enameled steel baths are heavy.
  • Risk of personal injury.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Read before you begin
Examine the product. Handling damage is not a manufacturing defect. If damage is observed, return the products in its original package to the distributor for corrective action. Slight discoloration and chips on the flanges or on hidden areas after installation are acceptable and will not hinder function. Do not remove the foam pad from the tub bottom. Removal of foam pad voids manufacturer’s warranty.

The support stringer must run the entire length of the tub’s back wall. Failure to install a full-length stringer will void the warranty.

CARE & CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Avoid using scouring pads, abrasive cleansers, and strong acids that might damage the finish, as the use of these products voids the manufacturer’s warranty. Under normal circumstances, this product should be cleaned with a mild detergent, cloth, and warm water. Non-abrasive oxalic-acid products like Zud or Bar Keepers Friend are recommended for stubborn stains anywhere on the product surface, including the slip-resistant area. For exceptionally stubborn stains, apply the oxalic-acid product with a stiff nylon brush and enough warm water to create a thin paste, allowing time for the cleaner to work before removing it with a nylon brush and clean water rinse.

When removing the tub from the carton, do not remove the pad from the tub bottom, removal voids the warranty. Pads and blankets should be used to prevent damage. DO NOT STAND on the top of the tub.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. When removing the tub from the carton, do not remove the pad from the tub bottom, removal voids the warranty. Pads and blankets should be used to prevent damage. DO NOT STAND on the top of the tub.

  2. Cut a 9″x12″ hole in the subfloor for the drain.
Note: The drain should not be resting on the subfloor.

  3. Check the level in all directions. Use wood shimming if necessary. DO NOT shim under the styrofoam support pad. It is required that the foam support pad rest on the floor. The floor should be flat and level. Once the tub is level permanently fasten the stringer to the studs. DO NOT fasten through the tub flange.

  4. Install drain and overflow assemblies as directed by the manufacturer. DO NOT over-tighten the fittings connected to the tub. OVER-TIGHTENING THE DRAIN CAN DAMAGE THE TUB AND VOID THE WARRANTY.
CAUTION: Risk of water damage. Ensure a watertight seal on all drain connections. When the bath is securely positioned, connect the drain to the trap. It is the responsibility of the installer to thoroughly test the tub prior to installation.

  5. Install wall material and seal along the wall-tub area using a bead of caulking or silicon resulting in a watertight joint.
