SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! Please read and understand all safety precautions, installation
instructions, and
operating instructions before operating this appliance. Failure to properly
follow the guidelines established here could result in severe injury, fire or
even death.
-
FALL HAZARD: Vent fans are normally located on the roof of an RV. It is inherently dangerous to climb onto the roof of an RV to perform installation, maintenance, or repair on a vent fan. Take appropriate precautions when climbing onto the roof of an RV or when working on the roof of an
-
RV. Failure to do so could result in a fall, causing serious injury or death.
-
Keep appliance away from children. Never let children operate the unit.
-
Do not modify or alter this appliance.
-
Do not leave the vent fan lid open and unattended for extended periods of time, or under unusual weather conditions that may result in leakage and serious damage.
-
Do not use this product in harsh weather conditions.
-
When installing your roof flange, only use a sealant compatible with the flange (plastic product)
and the roof surface. Do not use materials containing solvents such as or similar to Xylene,
Toluene, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Acetate or Acetone as they can damage the flange. Also,
Polysulfide (Thiokol) type sealants must be avoided. Silicone sealants such as G.E. Silicone II
(non-paintable) used for outdoor applications have proven to be suitable for this installation. -
Connecting the appliance to a circuit other than 12V DC or with incorrect polarity could damage the appliance, cause injury to persons or damage to property and void the warranty.
-
Red wire must be connected to the vehicle’s positive terminal while the white wire is connected to the negative terminal.
-
When installation is finished, make sure there is no blockage caught in the fan blades before turning on the appliance.
-
Please note that the roof fan will not work when the fan cover lid is closed.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- This roof vent requires a roof opening from 14” x 14” (355 x 355 mm) to 15.16 x 15.16in (385 x 385mm).
- If you are replacing another type already installed, remove the old existing roof vent. Remove the old roof sealant around the roof opening. Place the roof vent into the roof opening and trace a pencil line around it to verify the clean seal area that will be required.
- Apply sealant within the area you have traced on the roof with a pencil. Apply it carefully to avoid gaps that may allow water to enter.
- Fasten the roof vent to the roof with 4mm flat head self tapping screws. Note that the roof vent must be centered in the roof opening with the roof vent open facing the rear of the vehicle. Make sure the power wires slide to the vehicle interior and do not become entangled.
- Apply additional sealant over the screw heads and around the edge of the roof flange.
- Measure the thickness of the RV roof. If your roof is thinner or the length of the interior garnish is too long, the garnish can be trimmed down to fit in your roof opening. Place interior garnish over fan from inside of the RV. Install the interior garnish securely with provided screws.
- Connect the vehicle’s 12V power to the two power wires of the appliance.
