INTRODUCTION
The Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap will swiftly and successfully get rid of large-sized rats. Each zap will be simple to use, from setup to use to cleaning and maintenance. This is because of the user-friendly design. This electronic trap has clever circuitry that can detect when a rodent enters it. When the rat enters, it steps on the metal plates, completing the circuit and delivering a high-voltage shock that is both humane and effective. Rats can restart their hearts, so to ensure a higher kill rate, the shock is delivered constantly for two minutes. You don’t have to handle or observe deceased rodents, in contrast to typical rat traps.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The kill chamber keeps the rat hidden from view, and the green indication light lets you know when it’s time to empty the chamber. Simply tip the trap after a kill to toss the dead rodent into the garbage without touching it. Battery life is low when a red light blinks. The Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap is ideal for installation in attics, garages, basements, and sheds because it is made for indoor use or anywhere it won’t be exposed to exterior elements. The trap does not contain any poisons or chemicals, but use caution when using it around children and pets as you would with any electronic device. The red indicator light on an earlier model of this trap serves as the signal for every warning.
- Place a small amount of bait such as peanut butter on the back wall of the unit, away from the metal plates on the floor of the trap. Be sure to use a cotton swab, toothpick or another tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap.
- Remove the battery cover. Insert 4 new “AA” batteries and replace the battery cover.
- Place the trap on a flat surface against a wall where you have seen signs of rodent activity. The trap should be placed lengthwise with the entrance nearest to the wall.
- Turn the main switch ON. A green light will appear, then fade away to indicate that the batteries are good and the trap is working properly.
- When a rodent is caught, the green light will flash once every 7 seconds. Turn the unit OFF, remove the batteries and dispose of the rodent. Bait the trap, insert the batteries and turn the main switch ON. A rapid red flash indicates that the batteries no longer have enough power to kill a rodent. Replace with 4 new batteries. The old batteries may still be used for other products that take “AA” batteries.
NOTE: An older version of the trap (with a plug) blinks red for all alerts.
FAQs
How do I know when the Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap is working?****
When you see a red light blinking on the Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap, it means that the trap has detected a rat and is delivering a lethal dose of electricity.
How many rats can be killed with one set of 4 AA batteries?****
The Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap will kill up to 50 rats on one set of 4 AA batteries.
How do I clean my Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap?****
To clean your Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap, simply remove the kill chamber and rinse it with water.
This rat zapper does not work anymore. Every time I turn it on it just keeps buzzing for few minutes and then lights keeps blinking, any suggestions?****
I have the same problem with one except the light doesn’t blink after the buzz. Ended up with a dead mouse in there for a week, with me thinking it was empty and the smell was coming from elsewhere. And now it “zaps” periodically when on.
Can the unit be placed in an outdoor garden?****
It cannot get wet, so we have placed one in a 5-gallon bucket on its side. Any moisture will cause a malfunction.
Is it humane? Is it instantaneous?****
The text states that the voltage is applied for two minutes because rats can restart their hearts. This does not sound humane to me
It says it can kill up to 20 mice. What happen after that? It won’t work anymore even if I change batteries?****
This trap kills up to 20 rats or mice per set of batteries. After that, replace the batteries with a new set and you will be ready to go again!
Does it come with any warranty? I kept it clean inside still does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions?****
Mine didn’t work either
Got the green light, added bait, put it out overnight , red light blinking but nothing caught in the trap. All bait gone. what’s wrong?****
Same thing happens for me. It’s in my kitchen do I know no one else is getting them. Blinking light, empty and no bait left. It’s now just a feeding station.
Why do my two different rat zappers show two different colored lights when turning on? One shows green and the other shows red (doesn’t blink)****
A flashing green light is indicative of a kill, while the red light means the batteries in the unit need to be replaced.
can it be used in the garden? what if it gets slightly wet?****
We only had to use it one time so far and it was dry outside. So I do not know. Since it is an electrical current and water carries currents you might want to avoid getting the metal plate wet.
If I put this in a kitchen cabinet is it a fire hazard?****
Anything electronic with batteries could potentially be a fire hazard but I think this is a very low fire hazard.
