Getting to know your LC wireless controller
Basic operation
The LC controller can only be used in conjunction with the MLC master
controller. It can be used to control any CONSORT RX or SL products. If the LC
is controlling ‘SL’ products, the reduced heat output is not available. Before
you can use LC, it has to be activated by touching any of the control icons.
The LCD screen backlight will turn on. To
operate any control icon, touch within 2 seconds of LC activation. Use the UP
or DOWN button to adjust set temperature.
Choosing a position in a room
The LC should be fixed to the wall. Avoid areas with draught or direct sun. Do
not position LC above or close to the heaters or other heat sources. Damp
areas or areas where the LC can be mechanically damaged should also be
avoided.
PAIRING LC WITH MLC AND HEATER
This must be done, otherwise, it will not work. To enter the pairing screen on
the LC, touch and hold UP and DOWN icons for 10 seconds until the screen shows
two sets of numbers.
Pairing with MLC: On the LC, after entering the pairing screen, touch and
hold the UP icon. The number on the top will start flashing indicating that
the LC is ready to be paired with MLC. On the MLC, touch and hold the P and
FAN icons until the screen shows the ID number. Now touch P icon on the MLC to
make the connection. Once LC is paired with MLC, the LC screens should show ID
numbers from the MLC screen and should not be flashing. To exit paring mode
touch M on the MLC, press UP on the LC.If the pairing was successful the time
on the LC should be the same as the MLC.
Pairing with heater:
Enter the pairing screen on the LC and locate the heater status light. Turn
power to the heater ON and the light should be solid green. Once the heater
has been switched on airing has to be done within 20 seconds. On the LC, after
entering the pairing screen, touch and hold the DOWN icon for approximately 5
seconds. If the pairing was successful the ater status light will show red for
a short period and the heater will switch on or off depending on what the LC
is set to. To exit pairing mode press UP on the LC.
Setting LC as signal repeaters:
In situations where LC is far away from the MLC it is possible to extend range
by setting some of the LCs that are in range with MLC as signal repeaters. The
LC set as a repeater will repeat the signal for other LCs that are out of
range. Do not set more LCs as repeaters than necessary for the system to work
reliably. On the LC, after entering the pairing screen, touch the DOWN icon.
The last number on the display is either 0 or 1. If the number is 1 it means
that the LC is set as a repeater. The LC can be set as a repeater only when
the mains are powered.
Heat symbol on the display
Every time there is a demand for heat, the display will show the heart icon.
– reduced heat output when the room temperature is close to the set
temperature.
– full heat output

Power options
The LC controller can be powered either by a 5V power adapter with a micro USB connector, supplied power adapter via USB port or 4 AAA batteries. There are 2 available SB ports for power. One port is located on the bottom and one at the back of the controller.
Batteries
Remove the LC’s battery cover and insert 4 new high-quality alkaline AAA
batteries.
Warning: Consort is not responsible for damage due to corrosion. Battery
leakage will cause permanent damage. Do not use batteries when unit is powered
on with mains.
To help avoid battery leaks:
- Replace the batteries annually, even if there is not a low battery warning. Remove failing or flat batteries immediately.
- Always fit new high-quality alkaline batteries from the same pack. Never mix new and old batteries or batteries of different brands or types.
- Never attempt to revive alkaline batteries by heating, crushing or recharging.
Power adapter for fixed installation
The LC controller is supplied with a power adapter that will fit a 35mm or a
25mm metal or dry lining back box. The power adapter should only be connected
to a wiring protected by a 3A fuse. Connect line and neutral conductors to the
terminal block. Please note that the adaptor supplied with the controller must
be installed exactly as the figures show, otherwise the USB connector will not
fit correctly. The centre of the back box must be kept clear to allow room for
the USB connector.
When fitting the wall bracket, ensure that the adaptor is installed properly and feed the cable through the centre of the bracket. Screw the bracket to a back box taking care not to damage the power adaptor or leads by long screws. Connect the USB cable into the power port at back of the controller as shown on the photo. Check that the LC is working. Attach top of the LC to the wall bracket and slowly tilt it to place observing that the USB connector is moving in to the opening freely. Once the controller is in place secure the two screws on the bottom of the controller. Please note that the controller screen will take up to one minute to display after powering up for the FIRST time.
