OZONE 966:2012 + A1:2012 Helmet

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING AN OZONE HELMET! The OZONE Shield helmet offers high levels of protection, safety and comfort and is CE certified for free flight. This manual offers useful advice and important information regarding the use and maintenance of your helmet.

FITTING / ADJUSTMENT

The Shield is available in one size and is fully adjustable to most head sizes. To put on the helmet, hold the side straps and pulling the ear pieces slightly apart place the helmet on your head. The helmet should be seated completely on your head with the front sitting just above your brow. Try to rock it back and forth and twist it side to side, if you can easily move the helmet on your head tighten the head strap using the adjustment system at the rear. The chin strap has been designed to grant you the highest levels of safety and comfort. Ensure that the buckle is correctly fastened and that the chin strap is a tight fit under chin – but not so tight that it restricts your jaw movement or breathing. Further adjustment to the angle of the chin strap can be made with the side strap dividers near the ear piece. A correctly fitted helmet should be comfortably snug and should pull the skin on your forehead as you try to move it around. It is extremely important to wear the helmet correctly, it should be positioned on the head so that it protects the forehead, make sure it is not pushed too far to the back of the head. Ensure the helmet is placed on the head the correctly, wearing the helmet the wrong way round will not only seriously reduce its protection capabilities, it will also make you look stupid.

MAINTENANCE

A helmet will only grant you the highest levels of protection if you treat it carefully. To this purpose we advise to follow these simple instructions:

  • Do not drop your helmet, even minor impacts can reduce the level of protection
  • Do not expose the helmet to solvents or any other chemical substances
  • Do not varnish your helmet or paint it with any kind of colouring substance
  • Do not leave your helmet near a source of direct heat
  • Do not expose your helmet to unnecessary amounts of UV
  • Keep your helmet in a place where it cannot be crushed or damaged by impact
  • To clean your helmet, only use water and a mild soap if necessary
  • After use, allow it to dry in a ventilated place at room temperature
  • Do not use hair dryer or any other drying/heating devices

IMPORTANT: Exposure to UV weakens plastic materials. We recommend the helmet to be replaced every five years. If you use it often, you may need to change more frequently.

IMPORTANT: This helmet is intended for paragliding and hang gliding use only. It is designed to absorb the shock of an accident by partial destruction of the energy absorbing liner. This damage may not visible, if the helmet receives a severe blow it should be destroyed and replaced.
