IMPORTANT SAFETY ADVICE

  • Warning: Ensure that the electrical power is shut OFF at the main circuit breaker before installing the Natural Ozone Spa-zonator!
  • Warning: Short term inhalation of high concentrations of ozone and long term inhalations of low concentrations of ozone can irritate the lungs. Do not inhale ozone gas produced by this device!
  • All permanent electrical connections should be made by a qualified electrician.
  • Follow all applicable electrical codes.
  • Ensure that electrical supply is protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD)
  • Ensure that cabling is protected from mechanical damage
  • Warning – To reduce the risk of electric shock, replace a damaged cord immediately.
  • Mount the Natural Ozone Spa-zonator in a clean, dry environment protected from the elements and water damage
  • If possible, mount the Natural Ozone Spa-zonator above the water line of the spa
  • The Natural Ozone Spa-zonator should be mounted in a place where it is inaccessible to people using the spa
  • Install a check valve in the tubing between the Natural Ozone Spa-zonator and the vacuum source.
  • Do not operate the Natural Ozone Spa-zonator unless sufficient air flow is being drawn through the unit.

Installation instructions

How the Nathe Naturturalal  Ozzone one Spaa–zzonaonattor Work
The Natural Ozone Spa-zonator produces ozone gas (O3), a natural disinfectant which is drawn into the spa water through suction created by the existing spa pump. Ozone resistant silicon tubing is used to connect the Ozone Generator to an injector or a vacuum port provided by the spa manufacturer. If such a port is not available, you can install a venturi (not included) in the water pipe between the pump and the water outlet. At no time should water come in contact with the Ozone Generator. To protect the Ozone Generator from water traveling backwards through the tubing connection, the unit must be mounted and plumbed as described in this manual.

  • Warning: Water damage caused by incorrect installation will not be covered by warranty.
  • Warning: Ozone can damage the vinyl of your spa cover over time. Be sure to use a thermal blanket to prevent this from happening.

What  Does SPA Ozonaotor Do?
There are many benefits to fitting a Natural Ozone Spa-zonator to your spa, including:

  • Kills pathogens such as bacteria and viruses.
  • Greatly reduces the amount of sanitiser you need to use.
  • Attaches itself to impurities such as make-up, cologne, body lotions and bodily fluids causing them to clump together. This makes them easier for your filtering system to remove.
  • Breaks up chlorine and bromine molecules that have bonded to impurities meaning you don’t have to shock your system as often.

Installation Tools and Materials

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Pipe cutter

MountingMounting

  1. Mount the Natural Ozone Spa-zonator as high as possible within the spa’s protected equipment area.
  2. Screws are provided for mounting but may not be appropriate for all surfaces. Substitute proper mounting hardware as required.
  3. Use the mounting holes provided on the Ozone Generator.

Plumbing – Injeumbing – Injector System (refer to Figure 1)

  • Option 1: If your spa is factory equipped
Most spas are factory equipped with an ozone injector or vacuum port. Review your Spa’s installation manual to identify the correct ozone connection location. Connect silicon tubing (supplied) to injector or vacuum port.

  • Option 2: If your spa is NOT factory equipped
Insert a suitable venturi into the water pipe (not included) between the spa heater and the water inlet of your spa as per manufacturer recommendations. You may need to drain your spa to perform this task. Connect silicon tubing (supplied) to injector or vacuum port.

Plumbing – Oumbing – Ozzoneone Genertor (refer to Figure 1)

  1. Connect the silicon ozone resistant tubing provided to either of the hose nipples on the Ozone Generator.
  2. Run tubing to a point above the water line and make two coils, then run to the injector barb (either the existing ozone inlet or the newly installed venturi). Secure tubing in this position (eg with cable ties.) This ensures that water cannot ingress into the Natural Ozone Spa-zonator.
  3. Cut the tubing near the vacuum source and install the check valve in the tubing. Ensure that the check valve is installed so that the direction of flow is from the ozone generator toward the spa inlet. natural-ozone-Spa-Zonator-Ozone-Generator-for-Spa-Pools-FIG-2

Electrical  Connection

  1. Test the Residual Current Device (RCD) protecting the spa for proper operation.
  2. Disconnect power to the spa.
  3. Plug the 3 pin plug into the RCD protected power point OR Connect the Ozone Generator cord to the mating connector(s) on the spa control box as described in the Spa’s Installation Manual. IMPORTANT! Ensure that the power socket is controlled by the spa equipment so that it only switches on at the same time as the pump.
  4. Where possible, route the power cord away from other electrical equipment
  5. Secure power cord as necessary to prevent damage

Operation

  1. Switch on all circuit breakers.
  2. Switch on the toggle switch located on the end of the Spa-zonator.
  3. With the spa filled to the proper level, run the spa on a normal cycle.
  4. Verify that ozone gas is flowing into the spa through the jet (there should be no water in the tubing, and very small bubbles entering the spa through the return). You should be able to smell a faint fresh odour of ozone when you put your face close to the water.
  5. Verify that water does not push past the check valve during any spa cycle.
  6. Check for and correct any leaks.

Job Done!
Congratulations. Once properly installed, the Ozone Generator requires no further user operation. It will operate automatically with the spa system.

MAINTENANCE Instructions

  • Your Natural Ozone Spa-zonator will greatly reduce but not fully replace all chemicals. Ensure to balance and sanitise your spa water as In particular, ozone will not eliminate algae. Treat or scrub algae as necessary.
  • Check monthly that the ozone bubbles are visible during spa cycle and that water does not make it past the check valve.
  • Replace check valve Failed check valves are the most common cause of ozone generator failure.
