General power tool safety warnings

Work area safety

  • Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of fl ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Electrical safety

  • Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodifi ed plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
  • Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
  • When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
  • If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

  • Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
  • Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
  • Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to a power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
  • Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
  • Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
  • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

Safety Notes for LED flood light

  • Only connect the power tool of protection class I to a socket/extension lead with a functioning PE conductor. There is a danger of electric shock.
  • Do not aim the light beam of the LED flood light directly at persons or animals and do not gaze directly into the light beam of the LED flood light even from a great distance. There is a danger of blinding.
  • Do not work with the LED flood light in an explosive environment. Electric sparks can ignite dust and vapors.
  • Do not misuse the connecting cable for carrying the LED flood light or for pulling the cable out of the socket.
  • Keep the connecting cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
  • Damaged or knotted connecting cables increase the risk of electric shock. The connecting cable cannot be changed.
  • Keep the LED flood light away from rain and wetness. Penetration of water into the electrical device increases the risk of electric shock.
  • Keep all electrical connections dry and clear from the floor. These safety precautions reduce the risk of electric shock.
  • Do not speed up the cooling process of the LED flood light by using water. Penetration of water into the electrical device increases the risk of electric shock.
  • The plug of the LED flood light must fit into the socket. The plug must not be modified in any way.
  • Unmodified plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of an electric shock.
  • Pull out the mains plug or remove the battery before cleaning, servicing, or putting away the LED flood light.
  • This safety precaution prevents the unintentional starting of the LED flood light.
  • Secure the LED flood light from falling at a hanging height of ≥ 1 m. Keep to a maximum hanging height of ≤ 3 m. This reduces the risk of accident.
  • Children and persons who, due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge are unable to operate the power tool safely may not use this power tool without supervision or instruction by a responsible person.
  • Otherwise, there is a risk of operating errors and injuries.
  • Keep the LED flood light the permissible minimum distance of ≥ 1 m away from all illuminated surfaces and objects. The illuminated objects can overheat below this distance.
  • Do not cover the light head whilst the LED flood light is switched on. Covering will cause the surface of the
  • LED flood light to heat up excessively. The LED flood lamp could otherwise overheat and no longer function properly. There is a risk of injury and fire.
  • Switch off the LED flood light when you are not using it. Never leave the LED flood light switched on unattended.
  • Unattended electrical devices can cause hazards that could lead to material damage and/or personal injury.
  • Do not use the LED flood light if it is damaged. There is a danger of accidents.
  • The connecting cable of the LED flood light or the power supply cannot be replaced. Dispose of the power supply properly if the connecting cable is damaged.
  • Do not use the LED flood light on public roads. The LED flood light is not licensed for use on public roads.
  • Only use original accessories.

Preparations for Use

Electrical connection

Note the mains voltage! Before connecting the LED flfl ood light, the rapid charger or the power supply, check whether the voltage given on the rating plate corresponds to the mains voltage. Only connect power tools of protection class I to a socket/extension lead with a functioning protective contact. On building sites, in a wet environment, indoors and outdoors or under similar installation conditions, only operate the electrical device on the mains with a fault current protection switch (FI switch) which interrupts the power supply as soon as the leakage current to earth exceeds 30 mA for 200 ms.

Rechargeable batteries
Total discharging by undervoltage The Li-Ion batteries may not drop below a minimum voltage because otherwise the battery could be damaged by “total discharge”, see graduated charging state display. The cells of the ROLLER’S Li-Ion battery are delivered pre-charged to approx. 40 %. Therefore the Li-Ion batteries must be charged before use and recharged regularly. Failure to observe this regulation of the cell manufacturer can lead to damage to the Li- Ion battery by total discharging

Operation

Keep the LED fl ood light the permissible minimum distance of ≥ 1 m away from all illuminated surfaces and objects. The illuminated objects can overheat below this distance. Installation Place the LED fl ood light on fi rm, level ground. Loosen the wing screws/star screws (8) slightly if necessary and swing the fl ood light housing (7). Re-tighten the wing screws/star screws (8). Fastening to the ROLLER’S telescopic stand 3B (Fig. 4) Adjust the ROLLER’S telescopic stand 3B as shown in Fig. 4 and place it on fi rm, level ground. For ROLLER’S Worklight 10000, remove the tubular steel frame (3) and fasten the LED fl ood light to the ROLLER’S telescopic stand 3B with the stand screw (13). Loosen the wing screws/star screws (8) slightly if necessary and swing the fl ood light housing (7). Re-tighten the wing screws/star screws (8).

Maintenance

Notwithstanding the maintenance described below, it is recommended to have the power tool inspected and electrical devices re-tested by qualifi ed specialists at least once a year. Such re-testing of electrical devices is prescribed in accordance with DIN EN 60204 and accident prevention regulation DGUV (German Legal Accident Insurance Association) regulation 3 “Electrical systems and equipment”. In addition, the respective national safety regulations, rules and specifi cations valid for the application site must be observed and followed.
