C245 Cassic Line
Dear User,
Thank you for choosing Bea-fon C245.
This user guide will provide you with general information and operating
instructions.

From the home screen, go into the main menu with this key

Calling or receiving a call. On the home screen, brings up the call list

On the home screen, you can get to the most frequently used functions using
the navigation keys.
In the main menu, use these keys for navigation.

On the home screen, brings up the phonebook
6| Red key
Turns the phone on and off (press and hold) and ends a call.
7| OK key
On the home screen, opens the main menu; in menu mode, selects the selected
menu or confirms an entry
8| # key**
In standby mode, press and hold down to toggle between silent/vibration and
normal mode.
In write mode, change the input method.
Symbol description
Symbol | Description |

Reception strength: |
The vertical bars show the network connection strength (SIM1 and SIM2).
| New messages
This symbol is displayed when you receive a new message.
SIM card has an unread message. This symbol blinks when the inbox folder is
full. You have to delete some messages in order to be able to receive new
messages.

This symbol is displayed when a headset is plugged in or connected.
| Missed calls
This symbol is displayed when you did not answer a call.
| Call signal
Silent and vibrate mode

This symbol is displayed when all calls are being forwarded.
| Alarm
This symbol is displayed when you turn on the alarm.
| Roaming
This symbol is displayed when your SIM card is in a foreign network (also for
virtual network operators)
Note: Additional costs may apply when using your phone abroad.

This symbol is displayed when the Bluetooth function is switched on.

Battery status
Inserting the SIM card
The phone must be switched off and disconnected from the charger.
Remove the battery cover on the back of your phone by inserting your
fingernail in the notch on the bottom left side of the phone and prying the
battery cover open.
Should the battery be in the device, please remove it. There are 3 card slots:
two at the top for SIM cards and one at the bottom right for a micro SD card.
(Up to 16 GB). Slide the SIM card carefully into the SIM card slot. Ensure its
gold-coloured contacts are facing downwards and the bevelled corner is on the
right.
Inserting the micro SD card
Slide the micro SD card carefully into the dedicated slot. The phone supports
microSD™ or microSDHC™ memory cards of up to 16 GB (not included).
Charging the battery
- Connect the charger to the charging port on the underside of the phone.
- Then plug the charger into a socket.
- When the phone is charged while turned on, the battery indicator gradually goes up.
- The battery is fully charged when the battery indicator no longer goes up.
- Disconnect the charger from the network and from the device when it is no longer needed!
Note: During charging, the phone and charger get warm. That is completely normal.
Turning the phone on/off
- Press and hold the red key for 1-2 seconds to turn on the phone.
- If the PIN code is activated, the phone will prompt you for your PIN code; please enter it and confirm your entry with OK.
- Please select your language and confirm your selection with OK.
- Press and hold the red key for 1-2 seconds to turn off the phone.
Device code
This code prevents unauthorised use of the phone.
The default code is: 0000
PIN code
The code from the network operator provided with the SIM card prevents
unauthorised use of the card. You can activate/deactivate or change the PIN
code.
Background image
Select a screen background image.
In the main menu, select Settings – Phone settings – Display – Background
image.
Navigating the main menu
On the home screen, press the left “Menu” key or the OK key to access the main
menu.
To return to the previous menu, press the right menu key. Press the red key to
return directly to the home screen.
Shortcut keys
Using the navigation keys, you can quickly access frequently used phone
functions.
Access phone functions.
- In the main menu, select “Settings – Phone settings – Shortcut keys” and press OK.
- Select the desired key (navigation keys: up, down, left, right).
- Press “Edit”.
- Select a function from the list and confirm with “OK”.
Note: Not all available functions can be found in the list.
Making a call
- On the home screen, enter the phone number with the area code and press the green key.
- Press the red key or right menu key to end the call.
Press Delete (right menu key) to delete the figure on the left of the cursor.
Making a call using the phonebook
If contacts are stored in the phonebook, you can make a call using the
phonebook.
- On the home screen, press the right menu key to go to the phonebook.
- Using the navigation key, scroll up/down to the desired contact.
- Press the green key to call the number.
- Press the red key to cancel or end the call.
Calling from the call list
The call list shows the received, dialled, missed and declined calls.
- On the home screen, press the green key to go to the call list.
- Use the navigation key (left and right) to select the call group.
- Select a contact or number using the up and down navigation keys.
- Press “Options” for more information.
- Press the green key to make a call.
Note:
If you are using two SIM cards, the phone will ask you which SIM card (SIM1 or
SIM2) you want to use to make the call for outgoing calls.
Answering a call
To answer the call, press the green key or left menu key.
To decline the call, press the red key or right menu key.
Note: In the menu “Settings – Call settings – Advanced settings –
Answering mode”, you can set to answer the call directly when you flip the
phone open.
Speed dial
Assign a phone number to a number key (2 to 9).
- In the main menu, select Phonebook and press OK.
- Press Options.
- Select Phonebook settings and press OK.
- Select Speed dial and press OK.
- In the dialling list, assign a contact from the phone directory.
On the home screen, the assigned number can be dialled by pressing and holding
the desired number key (2-9).
Headset/Bluetooth mode
If a headset is connected to the 2.5 mm socket (or a Bluetooth Headset), you
can answer the call using the headset button. (Headset is not included).
Volume control
During a phone call, use the navigation keys to adjust the volume.
Hands-free
During a call, you can
turn the hands-free function on/off by pressing the right menu key.
Bluetooth
- In the main menu, select Settings – Connections – Bluetooth.
With Bluetooth, you can connect your phone with a compatible Bluetooth device.
Searching for Bluetooth audio device
To start a search for another Bluetooth device, proceed as follows:
- Select Found devices – Add new device and press OK.
- Select the desired device from the list of found devices and press Pair.
- Once a connection with a Bluetooth device is established, you will be prompted to enter a password for the Bluetooth device.
- Confirm the password with OK.
Once the Bluetooth device is paired with your phone, it can be found in the
list of found devices.
Changing phone tones
- In the main menu, select Settings – User profiles.
- Select the profile to be used, press Options and select Settings.
To switch to another profile, select the desired profile and press the OK key.
Note: On the home screen, you can press the # key to toggle between the
normal and silent/vibration mode
Switching Dual SIM card on/off
- In the main menu, select Settings – Dual SIM settings.
- Select the SIM card to be activated or deactivated. (SIM1 or SIM2)
Note:
The Menu selection depends on the number of SIM cards.
Voice mailbox
Voice mail is a network function. When a voice mail is received, the symbol of
a new message is displayed on your phone screen.
- In the main menu, select Messages and press OK.
- Select SMS settings – SIM voice mailbox and press OK.
- Press OK to enter the voice mailbox.
- Press Edit to edit or enter your voice mailbox Number.
On the home screen, press and hold Number 1 and your phone will dial the
number saved in the voice mailbox.
Note: This service must be supported by the network operator.
Main menu
Phonebook
New contact
On the home screen, press Names (right menu key).

Press the left menu key Options.

Select Create new and press OK.

Select where to save: SIM card(s) or Phone.
SIM memory: Only Name and Number can be saved.
Phone memory: By default, Name, Number, Image, Ringtone, and Group can be saved. -
To save the contact, press the left menu key Options – Save.
Messages
Writing messages
- Select the main menu, Messages and press OK.
- Select Write message.
- Enter the text in the field.
- Press Options and select Send to.
- Select the recipient from the phonebook or enter a number and confirm your entry with the OK key.
Note:
If two SIM cards are used, please choose the SIM card that you want to use.
Input method
Press the pound key (#) to toggle between lower and upper case: EN, En, en,
123, pay attention to the Symbol above on the display.
Inserting a symbol
Press the star key (*), use the navigation key to select the desired symbol
and confirm with OK
Call list
In the main menu, select Calls.
The Call list shows the received, dialled, missed and declined calls.
Camera
In the main menu, select Camera.
To take photos, press the OK key.
Important: Use a memory card (micro SD card up to 16 GB, not included) to save
your photos.
Photos
In the main menu, select Photos to display the saved photos (in .jpg format).
You can send and receive photos via Bluetooth.
Calendar
In the main menu, select Calendar
Press the navigation keys to switch between the days.
You can save Events in the calendar.
File manager
In the main menu, select File manager.
Use File manager to manage your files and folders on the memory card.
Extras
Alarm
- In the main menu, select Extras and press OK.
- Select Alarm and press OK.
You can set up to 5 alarms.
Calculator
- In the main menu, select Extras and press OK.
- Select Calculator and press OK.
With this function, you can use your mobile phone as a pocket calculator. The
pocket calculator can perform basic arithmetic functions.
Radio
- In the main menu, select Extras and press OK.
- Select Radio and press OK.
You can use the phone as a radio.
For better reception, please use a headset (not included).
World clock
- In the main menu, select Extras and press OK.
- Select World clock and press OK.
Here, you can display capital cities with their respective local times.
Settings
In the main menu, select Settings and press OK.
You will find the following settings in this menu:
- Call settings (Call forwarding, Caller ID, Call barring, etc.)
- Profiles (Tone settings)
- Phone settings (Date, Time, Languages, etc.)
- Security settings (PIN, Phone code, Privacy)
- Network settings (Network selection)
- Dual SIM settings (SIM1 or SIM2)
- Connections (Bluetooth)
- LED function (additional LED function)
Connecting the telephone to the computer
To copy the images you have taken with the C245 camera onto your PC, proceed
as follows:
- Connect your phone to the computer using a micro USB cable. (not included)
- In the phone menu that opens, select “Removable media” and confirm with “OK”.
- The computer will recognise your phone as removable media.
- Now you can manage the data using Windows Explorer.

Troubleshooting **
**
The phone will not turn on:
Check whether the battery is correctly inserted into the phone.
Check the battery status, charge the battery for 24 hours or replace it (a
six-month warranty applies).
SIM card error:
Dirt on the contact areas of the SIM card?
Clean the contact areas of the SIM card.
SIM card is not inserted correctly; insert the SIM card correctly.
SIM card does not function or is damaged? Get your SIM card checked by your
network operator.
Bad voice quality:
Poor network connection quality on the part of the network provider? Press the
end key and select again. You may be routed to a network connection or phone
line with better quality.
Outgoing calls cannot be made:
Check the phone number and try again.
Have you activated call barring? If so, please disable call barring.
Check whether the SIM card is registered on the network.
Check whether you have enough credit on your SIM card.
You do not receive incoming calls:
Check whether the SIM card is registered on the network.
Check whether the phone is turned on.
Check the signal strength.
Have you activated call barring? If so, please disable call barring.
Display is black:
Check whether the phone is turned on; charge the battery for 24 hours and
remove it for a few seconds; then restart the phone.
PIN is locked:
Check whether the PIN code was entered correctly. If the PIN code was entered
incorrectly three times, the SIM card is locked and you will need the PUK
code: (Please contact your network operator for your PUK code).
I do not hear my interlocutor
Check the volume settings.
Try restoring the factory settings.
Briefly remove the battery and restart the device.
Note: If a specific problem could not be solved using this information,
please contact customer support at www.beafon.com.
Please do not try to repair the phone yourself.
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol found on the product, battery, packaging
material, and in the documentation means that electrical and electronic
products, batteries, and rechargeable batteries should be disposed of
separately from your household waste at their end-of-life. This regulation is
in force in the European Union. Do not dispose of these products with unsorted
household waste.
