Flash Strobe Kit User Guide

Declaration for package contents:
This manual contains brief operating instructions for the Flash Unit (Q2 300TTL), Battery (Q2 300TTL Battery) and Flash Head (Q2 300TTL Head). It does not mean that  these items are all included in the package you purchased. Please refer to the actual package contents list or sales descriptions.

Saety instructions

Be sure to read these instructions in order to operate the product safely.
Follow these instructions to prevent injury or harm to the operator of the product o others.

  • Photographic Flashlights are powerful light sources. Please be aware of the danger, o inconvenience, that they may present to some persons and children.
  • Use only battery, charger and flash head specified in this instruction manual for us with the flash unit.
  • Keep flash equipment out of reach of unauthorized persons and children wheneve possible.
  • The product is not waterproof. Please keep away from rain, snow and high humidity conditions.
  • Do not use organic solvents such as alcohol, benzine or paint thinner to clean the product.
  • Do not place or use the equipments where they can be exposed to moisture, extreme electromagnetic fields, or in areas with flammable gases or dust.
  • Do not expose the equipment to hasty temperature changes in humid conditions as this could lead to condensation water in the unit.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, which might heat up the flash unit and affect the photocell effi ciency.
  • Onno account should any object be inserted into the ventilation holes.
  • Stop using the product in any case of unusual circumstances such as the presence o smoke or a strange smell.
  • Use only original AODELAN Accessories. Damaged cables, glass covers and cases must be immediately replaced by authorized customer service.
  • Always switch off the flash unit before changing accessories.
  • For your safety, never open or disassemble your flashes. Only an authorized servic engineer should open or attempt to repair this unit.

Safety advices for Lithium-Ion battery!

Observe the following instructions when using commercially available batteries o provided battery packs. Otherwise it may cause electric shock, explosion or fire.

  • Do not use the Battery Pack for a purpose other than those specified, USE WITH AODELAN EQUIPMENT ONLY!
  • Do not charge batteries / battery packs using non-authorized battery chargers.
  • Do not crush. Do not heat or incinerate. Do not short-circuit. Do not dismantle. Do no put the Battery Pack into a microwave oven or a pressurized container. Do not im merse in any liquid, as this may cause the battery to vent or rupture.
  • Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive hea such as direct sunlight, fire, or the like.
  • Do not expose the terminals to dirt or let them come into contact with metallic pins o other metal objects.
  • Do not use leaking batteries / battery packs.
  • When disposing of batteries / battery packs, insulate the terminals with tape or othe means.
  • If a battery / battery pack leaks and the material contacts your skin or clothing, flus the exposed area thoroughly with running water. In case of eye contact, flush thor oughly with copious amounts of clean running water and seek immediate medical as sistance.

Safety advices for battery charger!

Observe the following instructions when using a battery charger. Otherwise it ma cause electric shock, explosion or fire.

  • Periodically remove any dust buildup from the power plug and power outlet using a d cloth.
  • Do not plug in or unplug the product with wet hands.
  • Do not use the product if the power plug is not fully inserted into the power outlet.
  • Do not expose the power plug and terminals to dirt or let them come into contact wit metallic pins or other metal objects.
  • Do not touch the battery charger or AC adapter connected to a power outlet durin lightning storms.
  • Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. Do not damage, break or modify th power cord.
  • Do not wrap the product in cloth or other materials when in use or shortly after us when the product is still warm in temperature.
  • Do not leave the product connected to a power source for long periods of time.
  • Do not charge batteries / battery packs at temperatures above 45°C (113°F).

WARNING – Electrical Shock – High Voltage!

  • Do not open or disassemble the flash units or flash heads! There is high voltage an there can be high currents, so please apply all the usual safety precautions when han dling the equipment.
  • Flash systems store electrical energy in capacitors by applying high voltage. So th flash units may retain an internal charge for a considerable time even though discon nected from the battery.

CAUTION: Follow the cautions below. Otherwise physical injury or property damage may result!

  • Do not touch hot parts with bare fingers. Modeling lights, flash tubes, protective glass and certain metal parts emit strong heat when used.
  • Do not point modeling lights or flash tubes too close to persons. All lamps may on rar occasions explode and throw out hot particles!
  • Remove transport protective cap from flash head before use! Do not obstruct ventila tion by placing filters, diffusing materials, etc. over inlets and outlets of the equipmen ventilation or directly over glass cover, modeling light, or flash tube!
  • Do not fire the flash near the eyes. It may hurt the eyes.
  • Follow any indications to turn off the product in places where its use is forbidden. No doing so may cause other equipment to malfunction due to the effect of electromagnet is waves and even result in accidents.

Note about Radio Frequency!

  • This equipment makes use of the radio spectrum and emits radio frequency energy. Make sure the device is operated according to local regulations. The frequency spec trum this device is using is shared with other users. Interference cannot be ruled out.

Quick Start Guide

Before using the equipment for the first time
Before using your new product, please update its firmware.
Go to www.aodelan.net/Support to download the latest firmware update package, update your product to the latest firmware according to the provided Update Instructions.

Mounting and Basic Operation

  1. Attach the battery.
    Upon purchase, charge the battery to start using.

  3. Mount the flash head on a light stand.
    Use the stand adapter to mount the flash head on a light stand.

  4. Connect the flash head(s) to the flash unit.

  6. Quick settings can be used to the flash unit after power on.

  7. Attach light shaping tools on the flash head (when needed).
