Thank you for purchasing a Hyco Curve hand dryer. Please ensure you read and understand these instructions to ensure safe installation and operation. The Curve is a modern,  slimline hand dryer that is suitable for a variety of washroom applications.
This high-speed, automatic hand dryer has a stylish and compact design specification and can be the perfect option where space is restricted.

Important safety points

If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid electrocution hazards.
Do not proceed with the installation if there is any sign of damage to the product.
The product should only be connected to a supply that meets the specifications detailed on the rating label.
Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE wiring regulations.
The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including young children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
The appliance must be earthed.
The appliance is intended for drying hands only; it should not be used for any other purpose.

Installation

To avoid malfunction do not install the appliance in the following environments:

Temperatures below -10 C or above 40 C.
Places in direct sunlight or strong light.
****Within 40cm of any surface beneath the air outlet.

  • When selecting a suitable location and surface for the installation of the dryer, consider the following:
  • Water droplets will be blown from the hands and may land on surrounding surfaces.
  • Access for doors and people.
  • Height of dryer positioning based on likely users (see table).

• Ensure a horizontal and vertical level and then affix the supplied drilling template and mark the holes ready for drilling.
****Always ensure no concealed electrical wiring or pipework prior to drilling into the surface.

  • Drill the four x 8mm holes marked A-D on the supplied template.

  • Insert the 4 x wall plugs into the holes.

  • Make provision for the electrical wiring at this stage, the template details the position for concealed wiring entry into the dryer.

  • Using the supplied tool, remove the two security screws located at the base of the dryer.

  • Lift the cover away from the dryer by first pulling the cover down, to release it from the lugs located at the top, and then away from the main body of the dryer.

  • Attach the dryer to the mounting surface by locating and tightening the four wall plug screws supplied. The supplied washers and plastic collars should be fitted, these provide anti-vibration to help reduce the noise to a minimum.

  • Connection should be made to the fixed wiring of the property via a double pole switched fused spur.

  • Electrical connections should be made as follows:
    Green/Yellow earth wire to the terminal marked “E” or Brown/Red live wire to the terminal marked “L” Blue/Black neutral wire to the terminal marked “N”

  • If the electrical connection is surface mounted, ensure the cable is secured to the body of the dryer using the supplied cable clamp and then exits the dryer via the outlet at the bottom right corner of the dryer. Fit the supplied rubber grommet to protect the cable from being damaged by the edges of the cover.

  • Ensure the dryer is firmly attached to the mounting surface and then replace the cover and secure using the two security screws and tool provided.

Operation

  • Shake off excess water into the sink or basin.
  • Place hands underneath the sensor to initiate the operation.
  • Slowly move hands back and forth to remove water droplets.
  • Rub hands together firmly to remove any remaining residue.
  • Repeat as necessary.

Dryer adjustments and Maintenance

****Always disconnect the electrical power supply before commencing maintenance or adjustment.

  • It is possible to adjust both the sensing range of the dryer and the motor speed.

  • Using a small cross-headed screwdriver, locate the small blue and yellow cross-head screw components as shown below, via the two small holes beneath the air outlet of the dryer. Clockwise will increase the settings and conversely anticlockwise will reduce settings.

  • The surface of the appliance should be wiped clean with a soft cloth and soapy water. Do not use abrasive chemicals or clothe as damage may result.

  • Periodically remove any fluff, dust or lint, etc. from the inside of the dryer. To do this first remove the cover and then, using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner, carefully remove any debris that exists.

At the end of its working life, this equipment must not be disposed of as household waste. It must be taken to a local authority waste collection center or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of electrical and electronic equipment separately enables its components to be recovered and recycled to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. In order to underline the duty to dispose of this equipment separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out dustbin.

Guarantee and service policy

This product is covered by standard parts or replacement warranty for a period of three years from the date of purchase.

If there is a manufacturing defect within the warranty period we will send spare parts, repair and return the unit, or, at our discretion, supply a replacement product.

Incorrect installation and failure to follow correct operating instructions are excluded.
Consequential costs such as labor charges or damage to surroundings are expressly excluded.
