CHARGING CRADLE OVERVIEW
MOUNTING HARDWARE
HOW TO USE WIRELESS CHARGER
POWER CONNECTION
Connect the car charger and cradle with the included Type-C cable and car
charger. **Figure 1**
Be sure to use a 9V high-speed charger for high-speed wireless charging. Using
a low-capacity charger can cause product malfunction or slow wireless
charging.
GRIP OPERATION Figure 2
When the power is connected to the wireless charger, display Indicator moves
up and down with a buzzer to start scanning.
Grip operation is omitted when the auto-scan mode is OFF.
It is okay to start charging with the phone on top during the grip operation.
PHONE HOLDER
- Pull the cradle Foot all the way down and rotate it.
**Figure 3**
- Make sure Auto-scan switch is ON.
**Figure 4**
- Press the Touch Sensor lightly with your finger or phone to open it automatically.
The touch sensor operates only with the grip fully closed and does not respond
to phones with thick cases, so touch them with your hands.
You can also open the grip by pressing Multifunction button without touching
the touch sensor.
WIRELESS CHARGING
- Use the included USB cable and car charger.
- Wireless charging of a phone requires the wireless charger and the wireless charging coil built into the phone to be accurately matched to reduce heat generation and enable fast charging.
First, check the location of the wireless charging coil on the phone to be installed.
Most phones have a built-in wireless coil in the center of the phone, as shown
in the following picture.
AUTO-SCAN AND WIRELESS CHARGING AUTO SCAN ON/OFF
- Holding the phone closes the grip and automatically scans the phone’s charging coil with a buzzer.
- When the charging coil position of the phone is normally detected, the buzzer changes and wireless charging starts. The Wireless charging indicator will turn blue.
Wireless charging might not perform normalizing the following cases.
A. Coil position navigation is not successful.
→ With auto-scan enabled, reconnect the power to rediscover the coil position
of the phone.
B. Insufficient capacity of the car charger.
→ Use a charger that is at least 5V/2.0A.
C. There are metallic materials such as magnets and steel plates in the phone
case.
→ Remove the corresponding metallic material.
D. In case of over-heating on the wireless charger.
→ Stop wireless charging for a period of time to allow your phone and cradle
to cool down sufficiently.
E. Phone doesn’t have a wireless charging function.
→ Turn off the wireless charging and use it exclusively for the cradle foot.
- When you hold your phone horizontally, put the cradle foot inside and move it from side to side.
AUTO SCAN ON/OFF
To avoid the hassle of automatically navigating the charge position when using the same phone over and over again, this product has a convenient feature that can be turned off with auto-scanning. After setting the optimal charging position for the first use, it is recommended to set Auto-scan ON/OFF switch to OFF.
Repeat the scan 2-3 times to locate the charge more accurately.
If you want to re-enable the auto-scanning feature, turn on the switch and
reconnect the power.
TAKING PHONE OUT OF THE CRADLE
- Press Multifunction button while the phone is in the holder to open up the grip.
- When the phone is taken out, the wireless charging stops and the grip automatically closes after about 2 seconds.
Allow approximately 2 seconds for the grip to close automatically before
performing the following actions.
Be careful not to pinch your fingers when the grip closes automatically.
DISABLE WIRELESS CHARGING
Frequent charging, or continuous charging while fully charged, significantly reduces the battery life of the phone. In this case, disable the wireless charging function in the following ways:
-
Press Multifunction button for approximately 3 seconds.
If the grip is open, it will close automatically. -
The Wireless charging coil position indicator is switched off, releasing the wireless charging function.
-
To re-enable the wireless charging function, press the Multifunction button for 3 seconds or reconnect the power.
The grip will open automatically even if the wireless charging function is turned off. However, you can open the grip with the touch sensor, but it does not close automatically, so press Multifunction button to close the grip.
RESIDUAL POWER
If you leave your phone on the cradle and turn off the vehicle, you may need to manually remove the phone. The residual power of the built-in capacitor enables automatic opening and closing of the grip for a certain period of time even when external power is cut off.
The number of times the grip can be operated with residual power is about 3 to
4 times. Wireless charging cannot be performed with residual power.
If you manually pull the phone out of the cradle, it can be removed by
twisting the phone in one direction and pulling it forward as shown in the
next picture.
LED INDICATORS
The Wireless charging indicator operates as follows:
Power ON | White LED on for 3 seconds and then o |
---|---|
Standby State | Blue LED in Wireless charging coil position indicator |
Charging | Blue LED |
Charging Error | Cross-lit in white and blue LED |
Auto-scanning | White LED Flashing Lights |
- Reason for charging error (protection circuit operation)
- Over voltage and over current
- Low voltage and low current
- Overheating
- Metallic substance detection
- Leaving the charging position
VENT INSTALLATION
DASH INSTALLATION
Before installation, test the position of the mount in a few different areas
on your dash. Choose a location that is easiest for you to access by hand.
For best results, please make sure the adhesive makes full contact with the
surface you are installing on. This will ensure strong adhesion of the mount
base.
-
Clean the chosen area with a cloth making sure to remove any dust or oils.
The surface must not be slippery. -
Remove the adhesive backing from the mount.
-
Position the mount on the chosen area; press and hold firmly into place for about 30 seconds.
-
Gently tug on the mount to test if it stays in place.
-
Wait 24 hours after installation for the adhesive to cure.
Please note that the 3M adhesive is not reusable
CAUTION ⚠
- If the thickness of the phone case exceeds approximately 2mm, wireless charging may slow or stop.
- The normal wireless charging temperature is 0-26°C degrees. If wireless charging is performed in a high-temperature state or in a place where direct sunlight such as a dashboard, the protection circuit may be activated and the charging may be temporarily stopped. In this case, Wireless charging indicator is cross-lit in white and blue.
- If you charge wirelessly while running an app that uses GPS, such as navigation, the app may temporarily stop working in areas where the GPS signal is extremely weak. In this case, press and hold the Multifunction button for at least 3 seconds to temporarily disable the wireless charging function.
- Depending on the phone’s model, the wireless charging coil is built into an extremely high or low position than the center of the phone, so auto-scanning may not occur normally. In this case, put the cradle foot inside and scan the coil position.
