If the electricity goes out, the batteries would be used. To prevent any power loss issues, I advise plugging in both the power adapter and the batteries at the same time. Just make sure to press the bottom button all the way to the “I” position.
Does a jolt or nudge cause extra food to spill out? My current feeder has a problem with that, so I need to replace it with a stronger type.****
Occasionally, if I nudge it, a few pieces that had been “stuck” in the chute may fall out. But that has only occasionally occurred. For our cat, we really like this automatic feeding. She no longer feels the need to finish her food because she is aware of when it will be served and that she will always receive it at the scheduled times.
Is this a battery- or an electric-powered feeder?****
Both batteries and electricity are used to power it. The batteries will take over if the electricity fails. best feeder I’ve ever purchased.

What does the bottom switch do?****
On/off control for battery mode is located on the bottom switch. When there is a power outage, the feeder will automatically switch to the battery-powered mode if batteries are installed, the power adapter is plugged in, and the switch is in the “I” position.

No, only the APP may be used to programme it. Once you’re done setting, even if the feeder loses WiFi, it will continue to distribute food according to the configuration. We advise inserting the batteries and switching to “L” for backup.
Does the feeder have to be plugged in AND have batteries to work? I recently received my feeder, however it isn’t operating because there are no batteries in it.****
No, mine worked after I simply plugged it into the wall.
Why does the playing recording sound so muted?****
