INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF GLASS FIBER LIGHTS

Glass fibers are meant to be installed in the sauna room. Fibers are heat resistant up to 180 ˚C degrees. In fiber optic technology light transfers trough the optical fiber cables from illuminator to the sauna room. Light doesn’t conduct electrity or heat, and doesn’t contain harmful UV-radiations. The fibers must be handle carefully and can’t be bended over the bending radius. If fibers have been transferred or stored in freezing temperatures, they have to warm up in room temperature before use.

Installing the Illuminator

  • Illuminator can be installed outside of the sauna room or inside of it, for example under the sauna benches. See installation instructions and electrical connections of the illuminator from figures 1 and 2. When installing illuminator inside of the sauna room, minimum safety distances given in figure 3 must be followed. Illuminator cannot be embedded to the wall.
  • Attach illuminator to the wall with screws. Fiber bundle end can’t point upwards, that no water or dust gets into the lens and weaken the light output. Put the fiber bundle end in to the illuminator and tighten it still with a screw. Do not cover the illuminator!

Installing the fibers

Fibers can be installed to the benches, walls or ceiling. Heater lens can be installed above the heater (NOTE! Not part of SASF02). Start installation by measuring and marking right places for the fibers. Notice, that kits includes different amount of different lengths of fibers! Drill holes for them with right size drill bits, see figure 6. Thread fiber cables in the holes and seal with silicon. Do not cut the fibers!
