  • In these operating instructions, the dishwasher or the washer-disinfector is referred to as “the machine”.
  • The term “load items” is used wherever the items to be processed are not defined in any further detail.
  • The term “wash water” is used for the mixture of water and process chemicals.
  • The APFD 201 insert can be used to reprocess machine-reprocess-able breathing masks in a Miele dishwasher or a machine. Follow the operating instructions for your dishwasher or the machine as well as the instructions issued by the manufacturer of the breathing masks.
  • The APFD 201 insert can be used together with the A 151.

  •  APFD 201 insert, height 219 mm, width 470 mm, depth 480 mm
  •  2 x compartments for small parts, two-piece, divided into three parts
  • The packaging is designed to protect against transportation damage. The packaging materials used are selected from materials that are environmentally friendly for disposal and should be recycled.
  • Recycling the packaging reduces the use of raw materials in the manufacturing process and also reduces the amount of waste in landfill sites.
  • The following and other accessories are available to order from Miele:
  •  APFD 202, 6 adapters for loading specially shaped air regulators, e. g. from Interspiro.

Warning and Safety instructions

  • Read the operating instructions carefully before using this insert. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place.
  • Please also read the operating instructions for your washer-disinfector and pay particular attention to the Warning and Safety instructions.
  • The inserts are only approved for use in the applications stated in the operating instructions. Applications that go beyond those listed and use of the inserts with additional components from the Miele range of components are described in the operating instructions of the components or are to be agreed with Miele.
  • Conversions, modifications and any other use are not permitted.
  •  Prior to being used for the first time, new inserts must undergo thorough cleaning in the washer-disinfector without load items.
  •  Inspect all mobile units, baskets, modules and inserts as described in the “Maintenance” section of the operating instructions for your machine.
  • Only items that have been declared by their manufacturer as suitable for machine reprocessing may be processed. The manufacturer’s specific reprocessing instructions must be observed.
  •  The last rinse, as a minimum, must be carried out with DI water.
  •  Disposable items must not be reprocessed.

Areas of application

The small parts of a dismantled breathing mask are reprocessed in a compartment of the small-part basket. Colour-code the compartments and the load item carriers to ensure that the small parts can be assigned to the right breathing mask after reprocessing. Colored tags (2 in each color) are provided with the inserts for this purpose.

  • For each color, attach one tag to the load item carriers and one tag to the small-part basket compartments.
  • When using other systems for identification, ensure that these are suitably chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant.

Preparing the load
Place the insert on the worktop and ensure that it is securely

  •  Lift the top insert out of the small-part basket.
  •  Place the top insert next to the insert and open the lid.
  • The insert holders and the adjacent compartments of the small-part basket must have the same color.
  •  Check whether the breathing mask requires manual pre-cleaning,
  •  If required, carry this pre-cleaning out in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Areas of application

  •  Dismantle the breathing mask in line with the manufacturer’s in- instructions.

  • Place the small parts in a compartment of the top insert of the small-part basket.

  • Place the inner mask in the compartment in the small-part basket with the curved hollow side facing down.

  • Note the color coding for the small-part basket compartment to place the breathing masks in the same color in the insert.

  • Place the breathing masks on the holders on the APFD 201 insert. Ensure that the color coding for the holder corresponds to that for the compartment in the small-part basket.

  • Arrange the masks in such a way that as little wash water as possible can collect in curved hollow areas.

  • Risk of damage to visors.

  • Touching visor panels can become scratched during the loading and unloading process.

  • Arrange the masks in such a way that the visor panels do not touch.

  •  Equip the remaining positions of the insert in the same way.

  • Close the lid on the top insert of the small-part basket.

  •  Place the top insert on the small-part basket.

  • Placing the insert in the load carrier
    Lift the insert at the side handles.

  •  Place the insert in the load carrier of the machine.

After reprocessing

It is essential that you pay attention to the “Application technology” chapter in the operating instructions for the dishwasher or the machine and the instructions specified by the manufacturer of the breathing masks.
