INSTRUCTIONS

Unboxing your new mat(s)
You will find your mats, power cord, the GFCI instructions and these instructions in your box. If you have a question call Drexma 1-866-994-4664
This mat must be installed according to Drexma instructions.
Installation of your new mat(s)
Interconnect your set of mats for a maximu m load of 12 amps. Plug into a grounded 15 -amp electrical outlet, properly protected.
Do not use extension cords to plug to the outlet.
Do not use or connect a mat/electrical cord which is damaged. Inspect regularly.
Only use the proper anchor holes to attach the mats. Do not puncture the mat.
A qualified electrician should check your outlet for proper grounding and protection.
Disconnect the product from the receptacle outlet when not in use.
Test your new mat(s) and accessories
The in-line GFCI ground f ault circuit interrupter should be tested when new and before each season.
Check the voltage at the outlet. Plug the mat into the receptacle, the green light will turn on. Press the test button, the light turns off. Press the reset button, the light will turn back on. If it does not turn on, check voltage at the outlet.
Check the surf ace temperature of the mat after 15 minutes to feel its warmth. If not, check your connection or call your certified electrician.
Operation
This mat is to be used when there are frozen precipitations or snow and for an extended period after that, depending on the conditions. You may use a thermostat controller to automatically turn on your mats at +4 Celcius or 38 Farheneit and below. Check for proper drainage of melt water to prevent refreezing and ice.
Remove loose snow, ice lumps and any objects or tools from the surface of the mat, which might damage the heating mat or disturb its operation.
Maintenance
At the end of the season, disconnect the cord from the receptable outlet before starting the leaning procedure. Wash the surf ace with a damp sponge or cloth, adding mild  detergent (e.g. washing-up liquid). Never apply any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or any sharp objects –th is can cause damage to the mat surface. Never paint or  varnish the external surf aces. Once dry, lay flat or roll the rubber mat and place in a dry storage area.
WARNING: ELECTRICAL HAZARD
NOTE:
Mat in terconnection cords are n ot detach able an d cann ot be replaced. If the cord becomes damaged, the mat should be disconnected. It mu st b ee taken out of service and discarded.
A new heating mat could give off a specific smell which is normal for new extruded rubber. It will vanish durin g operation.
NOTE:
The applian ce may be used by children over 8 years of age and person s with redu ced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience or knowledge, providing
they are supervised, or have received in struction in safe use of the appliance and understand the hzards. Children must not play with the device. Cleanin g and user main tenan ce mu st not be carried ou t by children unless su pervised.
NOTE:
The heatin g mat mu st not be position ed in th e vicinity of hot or flammable substances.
Damaged heating mat mu st n ot be u sed or connected to the receptacle.
NOTE:
Every application of the heating mat must be preceded with a detailed visual in spection and test of th eelectrical parameters of the mat. In case more than one heating mat is used, the mats must not overlap or cover one another.
Do not use any addition al th ermal insulation with the heating mat due to existin g risk of overheating.
Do not let the heating mat come into con tact with insulation materials.
Do not cover the heatin g mat while using it.
Do not place any sharp-edged tools on the heating mat, which might damage the mat; Do not conn ect to the electrical ou tlet the heatin g mats which are folded or rolled.
Do not use the rubber heated mat at a higher ambient temperature than + 10°C or 50°F.
Warranty: This product is covered under a limited warranty for a period of 1 year to be free of defect in material and workmanship. Please contact your supplier with your proof of purchase.
1 year limited warranty
Drexma (the Company) warrants its heating rubber mats (the Product) to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year to the first owner and or original purchaser of the product. Warranty card must be registered with the company.
Under this Limited Warranty, Drexma will provide the following:
If the product is determined by Drexma to be defective in materials and workmanship, and has not been damaged as a result of abuse, misapplication or modification, the Company will refund all or part of the manufacturer’s published list price of the Product at the time of purchase.
In order to make a claim and/or benefit from this warranty, you must:

  • Provide the Company with sufficient details relating to the nature of the defect, the installation and the history of operation.
  • At the Company’s discretion and at the owner’s expense, ship the Product to the Company or the Company’s local representative or distributor.
  • Provide proof that the Product was installed in accordance with the applicable Product Installation Manual and any special wr itten design or installation guidelines by Drexma for this project.
  • Provide a retail sales receipt or proof of purchase.
  • Provide test result, if applicable.
  • Have completed the Drexma Warranty Sheet and had it registered with Drexma.
  • Provide proof that the Product was installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) or the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), and/or all applicable local building and electrical codes.
  • The installation shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and national and local electrical codes. The installation shall be in accordance with Part 426, American National Standard Institute / National Fire Protection Association (ANSI/NFPA7 0), National Electrical Code (NEC) and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Part 1. You must use a ground fault p rotection device (GFCI) or a Residual Current Device (RCD).
  • All local codes concerning buildings, electrical installations etc. must be adhered to regardless of instructions provided in this manual. If these regulations are in direct conflict with instructions stated herein, please contact the Drexma Industries.

This Warranty is only valid for following installation combinations:
• All mats total load must be under limit charge of 15 Amperes.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY:
(a)
Any incidental or consequential damage, including inconvenience, loss of time or loss of income.
(b) Any labor or materials required to repair or replace the Product or control, not authorized in writing by the Company.
(c) Any labor or materials required to remove, repair or replace flooring or slab materials.
(d) Any freight or delivery costs related to the Product, the control, or any related flooring or electrical products, Drexma assumes no responsibility under this warranty for any damage to the Product caused by any trades people, visitors on the job site, or damage caused as a result of post-installation work.
(e) Indoor installations.
Governing Law
These warranties are governed and interpreted by Province of Quebec laws in Canada exclusively. In case of any disagreement between Drexma and Warrantyʼs Owner local laws will prevail.
No agent or representative of Drexma has any authority to extend or modify this warranty unless such extension or modification is made in writing by a corporate officer.
Due to differences in building construction and slab composition, climate and slab covering, Drexma makes no representation that the mat will achieve any particular temperature, or temperature rise. And as such, users may or may not be satisfied with the warmth generated by the mats.

Terms and Conditions

Drexma does not warrant that all products will produce the rated output listed on the Product Nameplate, following the technical doc uments and installation manuals when operated at the rated voltage.
Drexma disclaims any warranty not provided herein, including any implied warranty of merchantability or implied warranty of fitness for a particular propose. Drexma further disclaims any responsibility for special, indirect, secondary, incidental or consequential damages arising from ownership or use of this product, including inconvenience or loss of use. There are no warranties which extend beyond the face of this document.
Shipping Discrepancies:
Incoming materials should be inventoried for completeness and for possible shipping damage. Any visible damages or shortages must be noted prior to accepting the material. Once the receiving personnel accept the material, they have relieved the freight com pany of any responsibility.
Any discrepancy concerning type or quantity of material shipped must be brought to the attention of Drexma within 15 days of the shipping date entered on the packing slip for the order. Warranty test card to Drexma with all required information immediately after installing the system and respect all local and national codes. Failure to do so will void the manufacturer’s warranty. A copy of the warranty card should be kept for future reference.
In order to validate the warranty, it is important for the installer to mail in the Warranty Sheet.
Effective July 1, 2022, this Warranty applies to all mats purchased after this date.
