-
Do not use the device if there is visible damage to the device or the power cable.
FIRE HAZARD!
- The device must only be set up on a solid, level, dry and non-flammable surface. This is intended to prevent it from tipping, slipping or setting fire to the underlying material and thus causing damage.
- The device must not be operated close to flammable liquids or materials, or in a potentially explosive environment. Keep at a distance of at least 30 cm from walls. In order to prevent overheating of the device or a potential fire, the device must not be covered. The stone plate must not under any circumstances be covered with aluminium foil, aluminium containers or heat-resistant materials.
- The power cable must not touch the hot surfaces during operation.
DANGER! Risk of injury through burning!
- The metal surfaces, heating element and stone plate become very hot during operation. During operation, only touch the handles and control elements of the device.
- During preparation, do not leave the plastic spatula on the hot stone plate or in the raclette pan.
- The plastic spatulas can also become hot. The device remains very hot after it is switched off, and must not be touched.
- Only transport the device when it has cooled down, and when doing so only use the handles intended for this purpose.
- Please note that the stone plate remains hot for a very long time. Allow it sufficient time to cool down before removing it from the base unit and cleaning it.
- Use oven gloves when you are cooking food at hot temperatures. Spitting fat could otherwise cause burns.
- Never use the device without the stone plate. Otherwise the red-hot heating elements are exposed, and could cause severe burns if touched.
- If fat catches fire on the device, never try to extinguish it with water! There is a danger of explosive deflagration or electric shock. Instead, cover the device with a fire blanket.
DANGER for birds!
- Birds breathe faster, distribute the air differently in their bodies and are significantly smaller than humans. For this reason, it may be dangerous for birds to inhale even the smallest smoke quantities, which develop while this device is in operation. When using this device, birds should be relocated into a different room.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
- Make sure that the device is switched off before you connect it to a wall socket.
- Only use the original accessories.
- The stone plate and raclette pans must never be cleaned in the dishwasher.
- Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
- The device is fitted with non-slip plastic feet. As furniture is coated with a wide array of varnishes and synthetics, and is also treated with different care products, it cannot be fully ruled out that some of these materials contain components that could attack and soften the non-slip plastic feet. If necessary, place a non-slip mat under the device.
- Only use utensils made from wood or heat-resistant plastic. Metal cutlery can damage the coated surface of the raclette pans.
- During heating up and operation, never leave empty raclette pans in the device. Overheating may damage the non-stick coating.
- Do not place any objects on the device.
Items supplied
- 1 base unit 2
- 1 stone plate 1
- 2raclette pans 6
- 2 plastic spatulas 5
- 1 copy of the user instructions
Tips on the hot stone
The hot stone takes approx. 25 minutes until it has heated up enough for you
to begin food preparation. Once it has heated up, the stone holds the heat for
a long time, and transfers it evenly and gently to the barbecued food.
You can prepare meat, fish, vegetables and fruit on the hot stone. To avoid
encrustation during barbecuing, oil the top of the stone plate 1 thoroughly.
One advantage is that you can also cut food on the stone plate 1. You only
need to avoid dropping it. This can cause it to break.
Always allow the stone plate 1 to cool down well after barbecuing, before
removing it from the grill and cleaning it. Because of its good heat storage
properties, this takes approx. 45 minutes. Allowing it to cool is not only
important to avoid burns. The stone plate 1 can develop cracks if placed in
dishwater while still hot.
The hot stone is a natural product and can change colour as a result of
contact with the barbecued food. This is normal, and does not affect its
function or the taste of the barbecued food.
How to use
FIRE HAZARD!
- Place the device on a dry, level, non-slip and heat-resistant surface.
- The device must not be operated close to flammable liquids or materials, or in a potentially explosive environment. Keep at a distance of at least 30 cm from walls.
NOTE: when in operation for the first time, some smoke and odour may be generated by the device. This is related to materials used on the heating elements during assembly, and is not a defect with the device. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Remove all packing material.
- Check to ensure that all parts are present and undamaged.
- Clean the device prior to its first use!
- Remove any stickers present, but not the rating plate on the side.
- Figure A: place the stone plate 1 on the two struts 9. The recess 12 must be positioned above the holder 11.
- Turn the on/off switch 3 to O.
- Insert the mains plug 4 into an easily accessible earthed wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate.
- Switch the on/off switch 3 to I to switch on the device. The integrated control light will then be lit and the device heats up.
- Leave the device switched on for approx. 30 minutes.
- Turn the on/off switch 3 to O to switch the device off again. The integrated control light goes off.
- Pull out the mains plug 4 and allow the device to cool.
- Clean the device again.
Operation
DANGER! Risk of injury through burning!
- The metal surfaces, heating element 7 and stone plate 1 become very hot during operation. During operation, only touch the handles and control elements of the device.
7.1 Preparing device, switching on and off
-
Choose a location that is firm, level and non-combustible. Keep a distance of approx. 30 cm from other objects. The surface on which the device is placed should not be sensitive to splashes of oil.
-
Figure A: place the stone plate 1 on the two struts 9. The recess 12 must be positioned above the holder 11.
-
Oil the inside of the raclette pans 6 and the top of the stone plate 1.
NOTE: use a kitchen towel with a little cooking oil drizzled onto it. -
Turn the on/off switch 3 to O.
-
Insert the mains plug 4 into an easily accessible earthed wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate.
-
Switch the on/off switch 3 to I to switch on the device. The integrated control light will then be lit and the device heats up.
-
Let the device preheat for about 20 – 25 minutes. The device is now ready for operation.
-
Turn the on/off switch 3 to O to switch the device off again. The integrated control light goes off.
-
Disconnect the mains plug 4 from the mains socket after use. Only then is the device completely de-energised.
7.2 Preparing raclette
-
Fill one raclette pan 6 at a time with the desired ingredients.
DANGER! Risk of injury through burning!
• During preparation, do not leave the plastic spatula 5 on the hot stone plate 1 or in the raclette pan 6. The plastic spatulas can also become hot.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
• In the raclette pan 6, only use the plastic spatulas 5 included in the items supplied and under no circumstances cutlery made of metal.
NOTE: do not overfill the raclette pan 6, otherwise the ingredients could touch the heating element 7 and burn. -
Figure B: place the raclette pan 6 into a recess 8.
-
Remove the raclette pan 6 from the device as soon as the ingredients are done.
-
Push the contents of the raclette pan 6 onto a plate using a plastic spatula 5.
NOTE: since the raclette pans 6 have a non-stick coating, they do not need to be oiled again before each additional portion.
7.3 Barbecuing on the hot stone
While the ingredients in the raclette pans 6 under the heating element 7 are
cooking, you can simultaneously cook small pieces of meat, fish, vegetables or
fruit on the stone plate 1.
NOTES:
- Always make sure that die surface of the stone plate 1 is well oiled and the device has been preheated for at least 20 – 25 minutes.
- For foods that stick easily, you can marinate the bite-sized pieces with seasoned oil before barbecuing.
- You can also use knives and other kitchen utensils made of metal on the stone plate 1.
Cleaning
DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to moisture!
-
Disconnect the mains plug 4 from the mains socket before any cleaning.
-
Never immerse the device in water, and protect it from drips and splashes.
DANGER! Risk of injury through burning! -
Prior to cleaning, let the device cool down until there is no longer a risk of burning.
-
Please note that the stone plate 1 remains hot for a very long time. Allow it sufficient time to cool down (approx. 45 minutes) before removing it from the base unit 2 and cleaning it.
CAUTION:
- Never use any abrasive, corrosive or scouring cleaning agents. This can damage the coated surface of the raclette pans 6.
NOTE: do not wait too long after cooling before cleaning, otherwise food residues will dry hard and become difficult to remove.
8.1 Cleaning the base unit
- Clean the base unit 2 with a damp cloth and a little detergent.
- Wipe with clear water.
- Do not use the device until it is completely dry again.
8.2 Cleaning the stone plate and accessories
- Lift the stone plate 1 off the base unit 2 after it has cooled down.
- Clean the stone plate 1, raclette pans 6 and the plastic spatulas 5 by hand in warm dishwater.
- In case of stubborn encrusted food, soak the parts in warm water for about 20 – 30 minutes. You can add a little mild detergent to the water.
- If it is not possible to remove all encrustations in this manner, you can remove the softened encrustations with a plastic spatula 5.
- Carefully dry all parts after cleaning. Pay particular attention to the recesses in the handles of the raclette pans
- Shake out any remaining water.
NOTES:
- The hot stone is a natural product and can change colour as a result of contact with the barbecued food. This is normal, and does not affect its function or the taste of the barbecued food.
- If necessary, you can remove residual odours with lemon juice.
8.3 Dishwasher
The plastic spatulas 5 can also be cleaned in a dishwasher.
